How many of these people have actually played all 3?
Hellgate was released unpolished. Full of flaws. The maps are recycled making things very reptitious. There are hardly any skills. Most of them are passive so there is not too much flexibility. For the FPS game style, it's quite addictive at first. Because the lack of skills/maps that excitement dies out mighty quickly. I don't recommend investing money into the game.
Mythos, I think people are getting the wrong impression. There are better graphics out there. The graphics really aren't much worse than WoW, or Fate, or Titan Quest. Pretty much on par. The graphics ARE better than Diablo2. The game is going through so many changes and evolving so much. That if you had a chance to play the beta a month ago. It's going to be completely different on the next patch. They're implementing an overworld, crafting, more interesting quests. Etc etc. I personally like Mythos, and I'm excited for the next patch.
Mythos has alot of similarities to Diablo. Same interface. Same skill tree. AOE is a very important aspect. Blue Items, Purple Items, Green Items, etc etc. Stat points, skill points. Similar weaponry. You'll instantly notice a lighter mood. Sort of a cartoony effect. Not a serious, more of a get out there and farm.

Mythos is a student that will never surpass the master. Its pretty much a clone. I do think its fun though. I just like diablo 2 better. No midgets or ram people.

I have never tried Mythos, I'm kinda just saying, it looks like WoW trying to be Diablo... And Hellgate, holy shit, I fell through the map sooooooo many times... like, that should NEVER happen on a retail game...

Well that's an opinion. I think it's evolving alot of the gameplay elements to something more interesting. I'd say it's an evolved student. I personally like Mythos. Just a quirk I have apparently.
Played Hellgate its fun at first, but got old incredibly fast as stated above very repetitive scenery, and too many pasive skills. The one thing I really liked was the graphics, but everything else was way below par.
As for Mythos I haven't gotten a chance to play it, but it looks too cartoony for me and not as dark and serious as I like.
And last, but certainly not least Diablo. I believe this is the best out of the three games. Amazing storyline and plot, the gameplay is very addicting, and there are so many ways to build characters. The downside is of course the graphics are below par for the time period. Resolution could have been higher, and they could have been better overall.
All-in-all
1) Diablo 2
2) Hellgate: London
3) Mythos
As I said in the thread that spawned this thread, I played Hellgate Beta.
It was a nice game graphic wise, the main lore/quests were
nice as you unveiled what happened in the story.
1. However, it got old very fast between level 15 - 22.
2. The scenes were basically the same thing over and over.
3. The game was developed from the ground ... up ... to be an instanced game. Rather than a game with a world with instances.
That really made me put the game down missing many days of extended beta gameplay added by Flagship. I leveled an Evoker to lvl 22, then a Templar to around level 16. I simply couldn't take it anymore. Unplugged myself from Beta.
The reason? I got sick of the loading screen each time I jumped to another location. It was instance --- load screen -- finish intance -- load screen. Over and over and over again.
I like World of Warcraft. It is a huge world you can ride through with no loading screens, restrictions, or visual transition from place to place. It is an open world. And if I choose to ... I can enter an instance. That's how Hellgate should have been built instead of imposing from the ground up an instanced world.
Can you imagine watching and waiting for 30,000 loading screens in less than 5 months? geez. No thank you. Diablo II was a open place with few dungeons here and there.

We're trying to balance satisfying the fans and also creating a game that feels like our own.
Diablo was my favorite game of all time.
Mythos brought back some of what Diablo had. There next patch is going to make a Contingeous world. Like Diablo, you run around and go where you want instead of instancing into everything.
Hellgate, Demo sucked major ball sack. I hated the View. Couldnt tell how much damage I was doing or if I was hurting shit at all. Graphics where pixily. Even on maximum settings and AA maxed. They did not use high resolution images. Mythos is a great game though. Especially since it will be FREE. F R E E.

1. Diablo ( Best RPG EVER)
2. Mythos ( looks decent)
3. Hellgate ( complete failure)
pretty much... yea same opinion.
Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
Seconded...
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
