no it was wow wotlk betakey signups... cuz i had one lulzactually still have it lol had a long number on top to use to get the tyrel pet on wow then the bottom one was a letter code used to sign up for wotlk beta...
2008 wwi gave what you're describing, the tyrael pet and wow wotlk beta key
you're saying you got it at blizzcon?
posted this in another thread also but, there seems to be confusion here (or maybe i'm the confused one?)
2005 blizzcon gave wow burning crusade beta key
2007 blizzcon gave wow wotlk beta key
2008 blizzcon gave sc2 beta keys
they haven't given duplicates before, you think they will still give out sc2 beta keys this year?
another member (Pjanoo) pointed out in the other thread that they gave out sc2 beta keys when the beta was far off last year.

Ok well we all heard about people speculating what blizzard is going to reveal at blizzcon about diablo 3.
Alot of people say that our best chance is getting one more class revealed and some gameplay in act 2.
Every1 says that we wont get both new classes revealed but i was thinking why not.
Lets think about this. When you play diablo with the barabarian it cant be easier than lets say playing the game with the wizard. Blizzard said that they are going to balance the game so that each class is equal (Meaning that it wont be easier to play with one than the other).
Now lets say blizzard finished act 1 and act 2 balanced both acts for the 3 classes then they finish they're 4th class. Once they finished the forth class they have to re-balance the acts for the 4th class witch means the changes are gonna make the acts un-balanced for the other 3 classes. This means they would have to re-balance act 1 and 2 just beacuse of that new class.
Now if they lets say make another act and than the 5th class they would have to redo all acts up to that act again to rebalance them for all the classes.
So logically they would rather finish theyre 5 classes and then balance them for each act.
What i mean is that if we do get 1 class and gameplay footage from act 2 on blizzcon it pretty much means they have finished all 5 classes they maybe just wont reveal the 5th one.(Keep us hungry for more)
No doubt they've got a fourth class in the works right now, and are balancing it.
I doubt they will unbalance the classes, Blizzard has some pretty legendary balancing abilities.
Diablo 2 is an exception of course :/, great game, but pretty unbalanced.

Im not saying the classes will be unbalanced.
I am saying if they lets say they spend a week balacing act 1 and act 2 for 3 classes and than make a forth class after, they would need lets say 3 days to balance that class for both act 1 and act2.
After thay made the changes regarding balacing those acts for the 4th class those changes would un-balance the other 3 classes wich means they wuld have to re-balance them again together with the 4th class, witch lets say takes another week.
So i am assuming they would just make all 5 classes and then blaance them act by act instead of always going back and re-balacing the acts beacuse they made changes due a new class.
.... You didn't really understand what I meant, either.
Probably should have worded it more clearly, but meh.
I meant that due to Blizzard's past reputation for incredibly balanced games, they probably won't unbalance the acts for certains characters, even if they are developed later.

hardest part of developing the game is finished. what is that? The game engine and story line. 2nd is the characters. after that they just gotta fill in the game and create the world. then put the o'l blizzard polish and shiner on it and it will be good to go.
I'd say they will have the remaining characters playable by BlizzCon, whether they release both of them is a different story. If they don't have all the characters at least mostly worked out by now, they are just being plain silly, seeing as everything revolves around them.
A while back, probably last blizzcon, they said that the 4th class was being coded and annimated. While they were nearly done designing(on paper) the 5th class.
By now they are probably "done" with the 4th class and annimating the 5th class.

The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t...
I think you are onto sth here. Very interesting reasoning and makes a lot of sense to me.
I think all they need is to balance all 5 classes for one act then that pretty much balances the rest of other acts they make doesnt it? - so it does make sense to create classes before acts ... but you never know.
My bet is on what your suggesting. I only believe in half of the stuff they tell us.
WAAA? theyd just balance the class to the act not having to change the whole act.. eg. making the class weaker/stronger.
First I will say we get at least one more character. Next I think we will get to understand more about the talisman. Also I think we will see how gems will work . Maybe see what the mechanics are for crafting. Just curious to what else you guys think we will get our hands on. I am pretty sure they will show more areas within the game. Does anyone know if there will be another playable demo
What i would like to know as well though if the PvP. How do they plan to do this. Are they going after areana style . I know they had it planned for D2 but just never got around to it.
I'm guessing (hopefully) the 4th class, a little bit of lore and maybe a monster or two along with a short gameplay video to introduce said class or monsters. That and a bunch of WoW stuff...
Of course I'd like more info and ballpark release date, at least what year and quarter they're aiming at even if they don't make it.
Nah, I think they WILL reveal a class but I don't think it will be the focus. I think a lot of the focus concerning D3 will be what they have completely environmentally.

I'm hoping for the next act.
A class would be nice, but we recently (kinda) got one, and I don't want them to exhaust all the classes early on.
Keep the next class for a while, then release him when everyone is getting impatient.
Well, more impatient than we are now :D.

Good point. They do tend to try and test our breaking point. When the community gets restless to a point to where everyone is getting mad at Blizz that is when they usually give out new stuff.

Like when we tease a dog with a treat. Blizzard is waiting till we leave a decent size puddle of drool before they give us the next tidbit. i feel bad for the one who has to clean up he puddles of drool after we get the tidbits though. That must be a lot of drool to clean up.

Haha, good analogy :D.
That's pretty much how it goes down though, or they wait until the hype/speculation has blown over, then blindside us with an announcement.
Take SC2 for example, people had basically given up on a sequel being released any time soon, then the Korean Blizzcon (or whatever it was) rolled around.
You just KNEW that SC2 was being announced at that.

What I think will be the release info will be like this:
-Next class on this year blizzcon and some beta keys.
-Bestiary, Cities and other stuff entries.
-Last class on Blizzcon 2010 and beta release(just like they're doing with SC2)
