I don't really fear anything in life. I've been scared so much as a young boy that when I got older I wasn't really scared of anything anymore, except for one thing. This particular thing is occurring every day, hour, second, every moment. This thing that I fear is called time and time travels by pretty fast, for me at least. Where you have time, you also have aging and that's what I'm scared of. I honestly can't picture myself turning 40 and not being able to go out to the clubs anymore hitting on girls lol.
I guess what I'm getting at is, what do you feel about aging to death? :thumbsup:or:evil:

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
well, i dont like the idea of becoming helpless in some ways. But that wont come before i'm around 70.
its a fact that we men have the best time from 30-45. None will stop you from going to clubs if you want to, no matter what. And women (usually) prefer older, thus more mature, men.
I still have 22000 days before I become helpless and die, and I intend to take the most out of them as possible. Death is a part of life and is inescapable, so why bother worrying about it?

Because it is natural to want to live forever. We can call death natural all we want but the fact of the matter is, it certainly doesn't feel natural. It always seems like something that comes suddenly, unexpected and unwanted. It just isn't natural to want to die or want to really accept it.
But there is that term "aging gracefully"
Some old people seem helpless and distraught that they are no longer a youngster but then there are those that are content with life and enjoy it the same they did 50 years ago. And with that there is that since of wisdom that they carry with them.
So i guess...you decide how you age, in unhealthy or healthy fear of death that decides how well you are able to come to terms with everything

With the advancements in new age medicine, we might outlive our for fathers. I'm guessing that I will live to about an 120, but then again I can die tomorrow so yeah. I guess we have to make the best of it while we can, I mean we won't be able to play football or hockey when we reach 70, or at least won't be able to lol. Then again, some trees can live for hundreds of years and still retain a youthful form. If we find some way to harness their genes and implement them into our own then maybe that's a start for our quest to live forever.
I guess I keep my good diet and try to outlive you guys lol.
This is going a little off topic, who really cares?

eh i dont really care if i die old. i do care if i die alone. now that is a new thread in itself. but still. is i was 40-50 would i be afraid about aging to death..no.
lol. of course i do want to get hit by cars and strucked by lightning from time to time....
Hmmm....what you say is true and it is a good deed for humanity, but it disturbs me greatly. If that were to happen, then I fear that there could be a civil war between normal humans and half machine humans and there bringing about damnation upon the earth, AKA, end of the world. That's only my opinion and it means nothing in the long run. I think I might make a thread discussing this. I think there were many like it before though, I wonder if there still around....

Some people just have to die sometime you know. They already got problems living 50 years without being eating out from the inside by boredom and all that weird stuff they repressed as a child. I mean when you've been doing the same things for a longtime it just gets boring after a while, and more than often people don't come up with a very big imagination so yeah life is boring... If tomorrow science invents a new way to enable the average Joe to live for the next 5000 years I predict that not even 1/4th of them would make it throught the first 1000 years, they'll just kill themselves after a while.
Me, I'm different. I'm a man of science backed up with one crazy imagination, I just don't know when to stop. Here's a little secret, the only way to truly live forever is to die a couple of times along the way. The tricky part is that you have to find your way back into the game everytime, just like Diablo :P.

Yes, dieing is unfortunate and it would be better if we could live on and on. But continually thinking about it or being depressed by the fact that we will die does no good for ourselves and our wellbeing. If necessary, I force myself to always look on the positive.
Having a negative outlook on anything is a bad idea imo. It just leads to sadness, anger, and anti-social tendencies. 100% of people die, deal with it. You still have most of your life to live, and you should be grateful for that.

The best way to die is dying in your sleep. Painless and yea....
Why would you want to die in your sleep? You don't even know your dead. I rather die jumping off a building, or just being shot to death. You know you're going to die and you get to see your life flash before your eyes. Dying without pain is the easy way out and it's just crappy in so many ways. lol

lol, what? Are you a cat? How many lives have you had?
I'm no biologist, but it has something to do with your brain not getting what it needs from the oxygen and causing a state of euphoria.
So like if you some how choke yourself while you're masturbating, it supposedly is extremely pleasing. It's all the same. It's the lack of oxygen going to the brain, cutting off the flow of blood and all that, I think it might be a nervous reaction, again, Im suck at biology but I'm pretty sure that's what it is.
That's how that guy from The Doors died (Jim Morrison), auto-erotic asphyxiation. But if you are going to die, does it really matter how? I would rather slowly dwindle over many years at my old age than to go out in some quick, painless, amazing way years before. After you are dead, all life, all the universe ceases to exist as far as you are concerned because your consciousness ends. God, I am so friggin drunk right now... Hopefully I can find some freshmen tail tonight. Well peace out guys.

Yeah, I kinda settled for that line of reasoning a while ago. Works quite well I must say.
Ignorance is bliss they say, and I'm willing to agree.

Who knows, in 50, 70, maybe 100 years we'll be capable of transfering consciousness from man to machine.
I would choose to live on for as long as I possibly can because of my innate desire to conquer.
I see safety and security in an assured end... but it's not in my personal favor to accept it.
I'll do what I can because any beast or creature would do it in my place, to me it's only natural that we do what we do because we can.
Of course, that brings in the whole philosophical debate about what a conscoisness actually is and if it is trasferable.

a lot of people here have said that everybody wants to live forever. and also say that it would be awesome. well just imagine it. people, from 60 000 years back still living here and new babies born everyday just imagine the number. now, if only I was able to live forever that would be cool but this way it would most surely get crowded very quickly.
That's easy enough. That wouldn't be the biggest problem.
Just imagine forever. Think about what that means. What would you do exaly?
Ok, so let's say you spend the first 100.000 years just relaxing, not working, having fun etc. Then after having travelled around the world for the 3,417th time, just maybe you might have gotten bored.
Ok, so let's train ourselves in every profession there is. 4 million years later that's done. Then whay?
You decide it's time to start a family, get a wife, sleep with every woman in the world, anything. 10 million years later that's done with.
By this time, space travel exists. So you take a trek around the Universe once, twice, 300 billions times. After the Universe has died, every star is faded, and only black holes still exist, you're still alive, and you've done everything. Then what?
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

Aging sucks but we can't prevent it so let it come. I just hope I go senile before I start defecating myself.
