this is awesome and all, but i cant help but think and maybe im the only one or there might be others who think this way also, but to me so far the character classes have not been new, babarian (remake) wizard is a chick/ remake of the sorceress ( from knowlege females are sorc's and wizards can only be male for they are the femal equiv of the sorc), the witch docoter seems like a tweaked remake of the necromancer.
Also from the pick with Gary Jones in it, you can see shadows of other characters the one on the far left looks much like the druid from d2, the chick next to the babarian looks like another archer class, and the small character who i beleive is a female looks like an assassin, also do they still have the gender choice of your character availiable???.
From what ive read in the past, they stated we wanted 5 whole new classes for d3 so far they have only been remakes wtf???.
Hmm well just when they said whole new character classes i wasnt expecting remakes of old classes, thats all.
Like im in love with the wizards abilitys atm, there uber looking, just wasnt expecting remakes is all lol.
there is only so many different character classes you can make if your only making 5 chars and you want them to all be different from the other classes
To me the wizard has a different feel than the sorc. With the sorc you definitely had the glass cannon feel. All magic users potentially look homogeneous but there are differences. The wizard seems more like the run in and blow everything up without asking questions later type. Maybe the actually game play will be more telling. We'll find out I gues.
I was at BlizzCon the first day (didnt make it for second).
I played the demo and absolutely fucking loved it. I got to it before the masses had gotten out of the opening ceremonies and found it, so I got about 2 hours of straight d3 time, with about 15 mins waiting in line total.
I played with all the chars and beat it twice. Incredible.

Traditionally, Sorceress is a female and Sorcerer is a male. In Diablo, the Sorceresses were a sect of female-only casters trying to maintain and practice the 3 primary "pure" elements. The Wizard I would agree is a male ideal, but in Blizzard's Diablo the title doesn't have to conform to normal standards. The Wizard is not a remake of the Sorceress- It is not based on the three primary elements which made the Sorceress the Sorceress- instead it's based on a mix of mostly new elements and a few old ones. It has some skills that the Sorceress does, but that's about it. And also, the way each skill works is completely different depending on the Rune you have equipped to it.

No, they're just the Barbarian, Witch Doctor, and Wizard classes with two of each gender shown.

So far every class has been new besides the Barbarian, but his skills, playability, and looks are nearly entirely new. Plus skill functionality does, once again, change completely based on Runes equipped to a skill. What more do you need for a character to be new?

Ah awesome finaly someone clears up the shaded chars for me thanks mate :P.
Hmmm, thanks for the pics. I've been so busy, haven't had time to scour the net for some in-game pics of the Blizzconn demo.
Wish I was there to play the demo
I had a look at the character selection screen and noticed something totally random - I wonder where the remaining four characters are gonna be standing, if one assumes all the characters will be standing next to one another...lol. Maybe the next character selection screen will look different, i.e. the characters will be standing in some other area.

Anywho, you do have a point ryanmax; They are just remakes, we will have a remake of a ranged class and some kind of hybrid later on.
Also, in the first post im 100% sure the "wizard concept art" is actually WD Concept art.
