Num3n, your join date is April 2007 but your posts are 182... so... iono
I think post count is more important than join date because alot of people joined and then just went afk for a few years and happened to remember their old password
But I dont know where the cutoff between new and old would be with the post count
Just had an idea...
The average posts per day is a good indication
Edit- Im 4.49 posts per day, but I havent been as active lately
Num3n your only 0.49
We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.

i suppose your right, i really should start posting more. I just rarely find really interesting topics to discuss. like no one really plays d2 on here, that i know of anyways. and we sort have exhausted the diablo 3 talk... which is why i agree so much with getting another game for sick to play while we (i havent been accepted yet) wait
Go ahead and vote on that 'game SICk should play' poll, Num3n, I'm sure you will get accepted. You can post your thoughts in the thread too, it'd be good to get your point of view in it.
Yes an increase of new members is somewhat overwhelming. Us mods are working 2x as much as we were last month. And yes i understand that older members feel the will get lost in the sea of new members and their disrespect and spam. But us old and Vet members all know who each other are. We all Show enough respect to each other. We all Lead by example. Just keep up what we have all been doing and the newer members will soon realize who's who around her and show respect where respect is due.
Luckily most the older members here have or are currently enrolled in SICK. and Luckily SICK isn't strictly a Guild and is more of a Community for the time being that it allows us to have these type of Constructive Discussions and the likes.
Everytime some d3 news is rumored or hinted at we get a wave of new members. Some stick around and fall into place and are Liked, while some post a few times and then leave. The site will die back down in due time(mostly depending on WWI) and we will become a stronger more diverse community because of it.

That's pretty much my view on the subject. It may be a bit hectic during big announcements. It eventually dies down. The spammers leave. All of the regs, stay as regs. They'll continue to gloat about their reputation in the forums. I don't think excluding new members from discussions for being new is a appropriate thing to do. For instance, Anakyn(registered long ago though) came back with the May 1st rush. But he's a swell fellow. Why would we want to disregard potentially good members. That's rude.

I sort of laughed at this.
I think the main issue is the blatantly disrespectful people who just spam a bunch of "omgfgZOR nubs scuk ma balz FUCK U nub" type stuff, with no regard for the posting rules that Elfin typed out and stickied, and with no regard for the actually intelligent argument other people make against them (not to say all new members are like this, or all low-posting returning members.)

I think our problem is mods who don't ban anyone, including those flooders... these people are pretty damn obvious, and they give all the other newbies a bad name.

People are putting a prerequisite for being in the "special forum" group. All of the regs want some kind of recognition for being in the forum a certain period of time. Or putting a minimum on amount of posts. FBIM spent half of his posts saying "I HATE YOU EQUINOX" "I HATE YOU GOODGUY" "I HATE YOU SPANISHBARD". Yet, at first glance he looks like he contributes to the forum. We currently all reconize who is who. All of the newbies will eventually reconize, who is who. Let's not restrict the forum.
For all the "OMFG SUCKS NUBS". Those are for moderation. Criticize them accordingly.
How bout yall stop crying over spilt beans here, they're new members not the plague. New members are a 'good' thing last time I checked, Caliban go cry in the corner this is a Diablo "Community" not a 'cult'. This is an open public community, expect new members till WWI hits us, quit your belly aching.
Most of you are taking this whole post count thing way out of hand, it's a forum where people come to chat, about things diablo related, some not but what ever. Quit your whining, quit whining over people who get 1000+ posts in a month; it just shows how at home they are in this online community, so just be chill, and stop fretting about average post counts, etc., etc. Be cool people.. we have more crap coming up in the next couple of months from blizzard, so just get ready.
Cheer up folks, we could *should* (crosses fingers), have a diablo announcement with-in the next couple of months.
Out of curiosity Equinox why are you a retired mod and not a mod anymore?>
I got bored of moderating the forum (it was pretty empty so there was little to do in the first place), and then Elfen got freaked out by hate mail. So now all moderators are either busy or afraid that if they ban someone the public is going to lynch them.
Well I think Spanish should be banned, every single topic he hasted posted in has turned into a flame fest and none of his posts have any logical value to him, besides the point that he is amazingly annoying. If he gets banned it should go in the News & Announcements section, just to show that they won't be lynched....

I'm not very popular with the children of the forum. Gosh, what have I done?
I've hardly pursued any kind of irrational flaming war. I try to stimulate debates, or make suggestions. Kiddies like you take it upon yourself to show me who's boss. Well news flash. I moderate Umaro's other website. *gasp* I gurantee, you'll get banned before I ever do.

People on this forum have a strange attitude. They think capital spammers like fbim4 are OK, but potentially useful newbies like anakyn are not. wtf?
