Well actually the graphics in D3 are ok its nothing new, but they found a balance with it the game seems to work perfectly and it seems fun. Im talking about games like NWN2 were they traded what made NWN1 good just for better graphics.

Here is a review for Dragon Age from Game Informer.
As soon as my flight landed back in Minneapolis, I didn?t even fight the urge; I drove straight into the office and spent an entire Sunday night in front of the computer fighting darkspawn and saving Ferelden. The number of titles that can foster this level of dedication and obsession are few, and Dragon Age: Origins is among the best of them.
Meh reviews cant be trusted all the time, its just one persons opinion you need to experience it for yourself.

I don't know how people can hate on game companies. It doesn't even make sense. When is the last time you didn't buy a movie because you don't want to support a specific production studio like Universal Pictures or Sony Entertainment? Probably never. You didn't buy a movie because you didn't enjoy the movie, or the trailer/preview didn't interest you. It had nothing to do with the studio.
EA publishes the game. They had very little to do with it's development process. If you like Bioware, and their games, then buy this one. You won't be disappointed.
EA is a giant company. They don't need your money from one Dragon Age Origins game. They can sustain their entire company on sports titles alone, which have very little overhead (because they recycle assets just about every year) and huge profit (sports games are big, especially when EA has exclusive rights to NFL and FIFA licensing).
Not buying this game to "one up EA" isn't going to do anything. They don't know who you are, and they aren't going to miss your $60. They don't care. Your hard earned money is a meager .0001% of their stockholder share.
Bioware does care. They are passionate about the games they make and they want their fans to love their games. If you were even slightly intrigued by Dragon Age Origins, buy the game and have fun with it.
Changing winds here:
A comic from the Penny Arcade guys about Dragon Age Origins. It shows a side of the game I've not yet seen in any trailer or promotional footage.
So you're saying that BioWare should fuck everyone that hasn't got the newest computer just because they want slightly better graphic?
Well i dont know how you got that from my post, but i meant to say that its stupid when they trade game mechanics and performance for graphics. Its not bad to have good and detailed graphics just dont screw the game over for them.

In my opinion, for whoever cares, I think the game looks great. It will have loads of content and plenty to do when you play. Here's a video showcasing the PC version which looks stupendous!
It does look nice i just dont like that they call it the "spiritual succesor to the BG series" even though its not based in the DnD world.

so they are gonna release a DLC for people to buy on launch.
yet another reason why i'm not gonna get it.
No one is forcing you to buy it so I don't see the problem here. Also this just shows that they are obviously going to keep the game updated with new content which is a good thing.
On another note the Dragon Age: Origins Character Creation program has been released. Just like the Spore creature creator, you can create a character and then plug it into the main game as soon as you get it, and of course . . . its FREE! Link.
Not much to do in the editor, to be honest. Coming from the 3 classes, I suppose most character development is going to happen in-game. Which is good.
On the other hand, I'm getting kind of worried about the game's color palette. If it's going to be shades of grey and brown and red, this game will get boring really fast.
That's because the new ideas stage was a half year ago. So they can't add new content, but they can make a DLC for launch instead.
that is just BS.
if the game has gone gold then yes, i can understand that but having a DLC at launch and you have to buy it basically smacks of cutting content so they can sell it to you at extra
no matter how you want to spin it that is what it is.
if it was what you said than they would have given the content as a free DLC
of course, i don't have to buy it
but it would still mean that i am getting shortchanged by buying the vanilla game.

dling the creator now, should be fun, spent a lot of time with the Spore creator (never played Spore itself, though, lol).
