You know, this might be blasphemy but I liked the movie ending more than the original. It just makes a lot of sense thematically that they would crucify the one true "super" hero.

In real life, Ozymandias and Ramesses II were the same person. Ozymandias was the Greek version, and Ramesses II was the Egyptian version. This has nothing to do with Watchmen.
Alexander the Great was someone else entirely.
In Watchmen, Veidt used the name Ozymandias, but was not actually the real Ozymandias.
That doesn't make the movie bad. That just means you don't like the source material, or don't understand it. Obviously, you didn't actually read the graphic novel.
exactly i didnt... but it shouldnt just be good if u read the book. lotr was a great movie and i hadnt read the books (i have now however).
also fine if u want something related to the actual movie. i hated the erratic feeling of the entire movie there was no sense of actual progression... it felt like we moved 1 cm the entire movie and then maybe 5cm at the end. the entire move was about the history of the world
I finished reading Watchmen last night. That thing of Veidt's that he teleported...you know the thing I'm talking about, was fucking weird as hell. I honestly saw nothing like that coming. I'm very curious to see how they've done that scene in the movie.

It's not an action movie. It's not a superhero movie. It's a character study more than anything. It's not for fans of action movies. The movie was good, it's just geared for someone who want's more than another superhero movie. Half of the movie is flashbacks.
What it comes down to is that you went thinking it was something it wasn't. You wanted something simple, shallow and fast. It's geared for mature audiences and deals more with the characters, backgrounds and interactions than anything else.
I recommend the X-Men movies for you.

Well said.
And not just is it a character analysis, but include loads of social and political commentary. I loved the excerpts from different stories and articles in between the chapters. I especially enjoyed the section by the character Professor Milton Glass, talking about how when a state is about to go to war, its leaders will orate loudly in the most eloquent way in the name of peace. Or how while we simultaneously pursue global harmony, we also stockpile our nukes.
Though this was written in the 80's (I think?), and there wasn't much of an effort made back then to reduce the amount of nukes a country had, it still is an interesting point.
I also really enjoyed the Comedian's outlook on life. He's obviously meant to be someone who is easy to hate, but his cynicism about the world is kind of heartbreaking that you wonder how he possibly lives day to day. And then we also learn at some point that he is very human after all and is loves and is loved by other people.

Correct. Veidt wanted to accomplish what Alexander failed to, an entire world united.

Did you read the novel? PM what you think is the plot hole.
