I just imagine a closet that the janitor and the diablo 2 patch guy share. Like, a diablo 2 development team doesn't exist anymore so it's just one guy sittiing in the closet with an old beige computer with the CRT monitor as the only source of light in the closet trying to figure out what to do next with diablo 2. Then every now and again he posts on the forum "Hey, what do you guys want?" and holds a poll and everything, then 6 months later he FINALLY finishes it.
Maybe blizzard forgot about him and just don't notice his paycheck, I just gotta wonder who this guy is, I mean WoW and SC and D3 all have this huge development team and process behind it, but I can only imagine the single guy working on diablo 2 and thinking "ok, I have free reign over this game, and can do whatever the hell I want, what do i do?"
All the power to them the game is almost 11 years old almost 12 if you don't count the expansion. The sequal is dropping this year why have some huge team working on patches for a game that you don't want people to play come D3?
I'll most certainly will still be playing D2 when D3 comes out. I'm exited to see what the new one will be like but I still have a lot of love for D2. Not to mention the time I've spent on character development. Anyway, I'm sure the guy still doing the patches is working off of an Apple II or something lol. I never see much if any change from patch to patch anyway.
I dunno, I like the fact that they update their games even after they release them. I would think its one of the few guys left that worked in DII...I know some of them left afterwards anyway.
I do find it funny that they waited what...12 years? to release the ability to respec. While it is only 3 times (once per difficulty) its still infinitely better then how they had it before.
It is great that they still give some attention towards it but it definately cant be one of their top programmers. I mean look at what Brother Laz did to the game thru his mod Median. Added new Uber Areas and special monsters and shrines. He added whole new levels to the game and did it for his enjoyment and ours. He added Green set items and tiered armors. He put more thought into it than Blizzard did and didnt make a thing off of it other than respect from some of us old time players.
Hopefully he gets something named after him in D3 and hopefully we can all play it for 10+ years.
The six month reset doesnt make sense to me. I mean the only reason I can think of for them to do that is to keep it "alive" other than that idk. But who ever he is, may you find him.
The Legacy Team consists of one guy that's full time and gets occasionally dragged into other jobs and another guy that basically floats in and out. I met one at Blizzcon in 2010 at the Curse party and that's basically what he said. I forgot their names.

I MUST KNOW WHO IT IS.
I'm thinking there may be a small 'legacy' team there. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's 2-3 people.
