I was wondering if we could get a poll started on whether or not people like or dislike the new patch. More specifically whether people are happy or not with what they added/didn't add. I am interested to see as a community how we feel about it.
I thought there was a way for me to create a poll but I can no longer find it.

I voted in between because I wasn't expecting new content and didn't have as high a perch to look down on the patch from. I do, however, certainly hope they work on fixing more of the 1.12 bugs and nerfing hammers a bit more
They hyped the shit out of it, were lazy with presentation, added no end game content, and ignored the wishes of the community, despite their promises to listen to us. Also, because there is really no reason for old players to return, there are no new challenges, no new quests, no new skills, ect.
Even the new "event" they added was lazily tied into the existing bosses, and made into a cube recipe. It's all fine and dandy for people who still play, but it's not dragging me back into it any time soon.

I voted somewhere in between; I like the respec feature, but there should have been more major advancements like immunes able to be broken more easily.
I very much dislike the cool down on the immolation arrow. That is horrible. Why the f**k did they have to increase damage on the thing if they were just going to add a stupid *** cool down?!
Not enough cool features to be honest. A few more balance and skill changes would of done so much to make the game seem a little more fresh and fun. Respecs are awesome but nothing amazing. A bunch more runwords and unipues would of made the game a lot more interesting to assuming they were good like the 1.10 NL and ladder rune words were
A new Shit has been revealed!
Players who hate this patch are hereby warned once again,
that a series of new and challenging tests await you!
The answer lies
within Klar and Tryneus who'll kick your ass if say you don't like it.
But really....who cares about klar and that other fucker.
Hate this shit.
Although I am not impressed by the new patch, like most people, I am surprised Blizzard would even give Diablo this much attention because they are making no money on the game now. World of Warcraft has a subscription fee and Diablo does not, therefore do not expect anything from Blizzard because the all mighty dollar is more powerful than people who respect you.

Totally agree. I think you put it perfectly. There was indeed hype and it wasn't dreamed up by us the fans.
I hate it. Complete shit. I'm definitely not going through the trouble getting D2 working on my home computer again. I was gearing up to before the patch but now there's honestly no real reason to. I'll just continue to log on every once in a while when I'm at a friend's.
Horse shit, I say!

I dont beleive this is true,
In regards to the new Patch i believe these changes will make the game much better, the Dteam should focus on creating "new build trends" by significantly increasing skill damage on character trees that never get used, this will create.
- different character builds not yet used which means different/new gameplay.
- a need for items previously not in demand.
- Ballance, every one wont make the same builds as every patch.
Ive seen this work successfully during (I think in 1.07) when "Wrings" and "Stupid Iths" were taken out and synergies introduced, every one went from Nova sorc's to Blizzard/Lightning sorc's and "Multi zons" to "javazons".
This was a great way of creating new gameplay.
Another change i believe would dramaticly improve the game would be to change the games habbits, such as, Change the prime source of experience from Baals Minions/Chaos runs to something different.
E.g. The Act 5 Portals just up from Shenk (Make them give %500 more experience). Apply this to all habbits like lvling and Mf Runs.
One again ive seen this successfully work in previous patchs, (Remember Cows, and Blood Runs before baals were even possible.)
Id love to play as a build ive never played because of its lame damage leveling in a place ive never level becuase of lame experience with items ive never bothered needing because of once previously lame stats.
I agree with you, but Blizz has had more than enough time to make a patch that is more worthy. All in all, I still love Diablo and will play it till SC2 comes out. Its just that i have put alot of time in this game and would like to see more work out of the "Dteam."
I voted in between. It didn't really add anything to bring be back to the game or fix the things I wanted fixed, but they didn't really mess things up like I thought they did in previous patches. It was disappointing, but it didn't mess up anything.
1. Choose a class
2. Choose a name
3. Start a private game
4. Exp, exp, exp
5. Fuck up stats with too much STR and DEX
6. Get high level to do Meph/Pindle runs
7. Get good gear
8. Create a new char
9. Start a private game
10. Don't use attribute points til you can get gear on and only take max 30 str.
So now... With the patch.. the cycle goes like this
1. Choose a class
2. Choose a name
3. Start a private game
4. Exp, exp, exp
5. Fuck up stats with too much STR and DEX and ENG
6. Get high level to do Meph/Pindle runs
7. Get good gear
8. Reset stats + skills
9. Be happy because there's more slots for mules and no more exping from beginning unless you want to change class!
So yes, I love the patch!
Only one thing changed in the second list from your first list; which was #8. Which goes to prove the point that this patch is lack luster.
While I see your point and somewhat agree with you, it's not that big of a change enough and nothing great enough for the patch to stand on it's own legs. If it were the case where there was more to go along with this, then this patch would be great. But just one without the other, which is simply just a RESPEC, doesn't work. This definitely changes game play, but it wasn't the change we were expecting or hoping for. And I mean really, not that major of a change at that.
I'm still going to end up having more than one character of the same type because I'll probably end up wanting to have different builds at the same time for different reasons. So if that is what this patch has to hang it's hat on.... pretty weak.

I'm not really disappointed. I didn't expect end game content, like they would add such to this old game. 1.10 added some content but all that wasn't really fun, uber tristram yeah same bosses again with some badass stats? They should have figured something new already to 1.10.
And anyways I'm playing Classic which did only get huge nerfs in 1.10 so 1.13 could only get better in Classic.
So we got respecs, I wouldn't really need them but I guess they are Ok in some cases. Basically your first ladder characters can also be great now. You can make a Barbarian as first character and don't have to worry what weapon mastery you take. You can switch it based on what weapons you find.
They did some skill balancing, but not enough imo. Why did they balance just a few skills? Melee classes will still be a lot weaker than casters or they will at least require very powerful gear to be on par with casters. Anyways even small balancing is good, but they should have put more effort on it.
I would have liked to see some immunity changes on monsters.. They should have been more rare to see. Iron maiden gone is a good and bad thing. They messed it up in 1.10 so why didn't they just change it back to how it was in 1.09, when it was reflecting a lot less which meant that you were able to Whilrwind and such in there without being instagibbed from first hit after IM is cast on you. You only had to be careful not to make long whirls to big crowds.
Anyways I kinda hoped to get more %ED to weapon masteries for barb or +%dmg to whirlwind or synergize whirlwind with something.
Also I think it's stupid that you require so much AR these days(1.10+) to get proper hit %.
Also Amazon should get synergies to Multishot and strafe from GA for example. Bow skills are weak just like every other physical. Wearing loads of CB and OW isn't the real way of making a physical damage character imo. You shouldn't have to rely on 1-3 stats in that way that if you don't have those you will be close to useless in Hell.
If they REALLY fixed the duping of items, it's great. Botting will still be an issue.
Some people have been whining about hacks like TPPK. Yeah they should fix hacks but thats not all, since you can Town Portal kill even without the hack.
They should have made every skill/spell disappear if you cast town portal or something. Didn't they do this for Frozen Orb, Blessed Hammer and Hydras already? So why not just do the same for all?
Hate it.
What they did is doable in 1-2 days, by one person. It's not much work.
Besides, there's nothing stimulating people to play it again.
Skill rebalance, a few minor fixes.
The iggest part of it, I guess, is the respec. OTOH, I was able to do it thanks to PlugY, long ago without this patch.
