I think it would be interesting if they put in some achievements that wont unlock if you use an RMAH item. Let's say an achievement for killing Diablo on Inferno, for instance.
Items can't be flagged from where they got obtained. Do it on HC, problem solved.
In a sense, they already are. Items you buy from the AH in beta cannot be traded for a period of time, thus they are "flagged" as having been bought.
I hope they won't make any hardcore-only achievements. Softcore 4 life.
Yes they will. they already stated they would. Furthermore, the base of your banner can ONLY be upgraded by doing hardcore mode. This will probly go along with titles and cosmetic things for hardcore players. Sorry for your luck...

Items are flagged where they got obtained from...they already stated this will help them prevent hacking/duping of items. Further there is no RMAH for hardcore...
i swear people need to read up...or listen up... or watch up... depending on the source

I believe Drachar knows there is RMAH on HC, hence his comment.

There will be Hardcore Only achievements and rewards, cosmetic hardcore only improvments to your banner being one that Blizz has mentioned. I hope they add more, a red outline on your Blizz forum avatar denoting hardcore status would be cool.
So I'm planning on getting 100% achievements because D3 will be my life, and I was thinking about what they could possibly put in.
One of the scariest things I could think of was an achievement for getting every class to level 60 in hardcore. Getting to 60 isn't going to be a walk in the park AT ALL in this mode, let alone doing it 5 times. The very notion of it sends shivers down my spine, but alas, it seems like a simple enough achievement that it will probably be implemented... and I'm going to have to do it.

He he, will be interesting how many times people will die to get their first character to 60, especially now that blizzard has removed some of the "easy way outs of sticky situations" from diablo 2.
Well, there might even be achievements like play Ironman HC Hell difficulty... If you want to get 100% achievements, you must work for it. Its not easy for WoW, it won't be easy for Diablo...
For getting 100% of the achievements, I think you should definitely be prepared to do some crazy crap like that. Also if there aren't any hardcore only achievements that would be kind of lame, all of the hardcore players wouldn't get any extra rewards for taking that steep risk of creating a hardcore mode character.

I havn't seen any list of achieves yet including the one you refer to but I would like to get my hand on one - partial or complete .
the specific achieve you refer to as 'scary' , at least imao isn't too bad . according to earier formal posts you should hit 60 as soon as you finish nightmare . I', not saying it would be cake but it's very doable . you can practice some classes in softcore before taking on HC and addupt basic ground rules like a more surviving playstyle (pre-planning,no mass pulls,CC, emphasis on survivng/defenssive ability nd customizing your resources to the situation) . follow this guidlines and you will bring your chance of dying to minimum.
what REALY scares me about achieves is something totaly different...
up until a month ago I played WoW . had a demo lock for the last 2 years . in that time I've completetd 86% of all non-PvP achieves and 76% of overall . it's not because I liked WoW, it's because I have a personality disorder that makes me complete things to the full. the main problem with WoW achieves (at least for me) were those I could not get on my own and required the help of others which was rarely found (never had a guild that supported me) . my greatest fear is that D3 achieves won't be soloable or will require real money to be completed . as long as an achieve is possible to solo or even dou - I'll get it . if not , it's a problem since in todays world people aren't thrilled helping each other .
p.s.
is that "filthy rich-spend 1000$ in RMAH" a real achieve?
I demand an achievement called 'Feeding Diablo', you get it for feeding him a level 60 HC character.
Lol thats an achievement I won't get... Maybe after a year or so when I have everything I want. I'm actually expecting a lot of death achievements for HC, or sth like "Fight Diablo in HC mode for 666 seconds or more".
I too will be an achievement whore when this game is released, simply because thats how i spend all my time on warcraft, and acheivements are just natural thing for me to do now :). To be honest, the only annocement i am holding out for is what achievements will be in game. It will be like when WoW achievements were first released, I spent all my time just planning on how to get em all
What level difficulty does your hardcore Character have to play through? I'm sure there will be achievement requirements determining difficulty regardless, but at least I could get used to creating a hardcore character build without dying right off the bat.
