I must agree I think it's a good thing. most people are just QQ for no good reason. Overall I think Blizzard is doing a great job setting up for RoS. And I am super excited to see all the new event's and mode in there.
i agree with you that it gives it more of a variety when they control these situations. however there will always be that GO TO run that people will do
The purpose of Diablo 3 was to explore the world... or at least not running the same boss over and over and over and over (hi Pindleskin, hi Mephi, hi Baal). I think it's good for Blizzard to nerf runs that are too generous for exp and are waaay to fast to complete.
Surely, all these nerfs will be a thing of the past as soon as we have Bounties, which are a lot more fun and rewarding than <random 1 minute run here>.

While this is true, it should never be a single quest or event re-done over..and over...and over...and over again. So this is why I am glad they did what they did.
It only started because word got out or streamers did it.

When I want to play with friends, either I'm stuck farming cursed chests, Mira, COTA, or some other monotonous bs. I love these things getting nerfed, I get to play with my friends again.
I'm also glad they toned it down. I feel like playing through the game is pretty rewarding now, not worrying about xp per hour brings new life to this game.
I understand the concept of powerleveling, and I admire the people who have the will to keep doing those runs over and over again, but if they can slowly "tweak" these to be slightly less effective, I think it's better for everyone.
I'm ok with "whatever runs" being a great source of experience, up to 20-30% more than anywhere else in the game, but when that difference is something like 300-400%, that's simply too much and people start thinking "damn I can't pass that up, I mustfarm xp there".
I most certainly don't think they can keep up with the metagame, as people will always find out a slightly better way of doing it, but I'm happy to see they're being more proactive on what I see as slightly broken areas of the game.
I'm trying to remember a blue post that I saw the other day, but maybe y'all can help.
Blizzard mentioned that it may investigate people how have been doing massive numbers of Cursed Chests runs because of the XP in-terms of their exploit clause in the EULA. Would Mira runs fall into the same type of scrutiny?
It's the same crowd that's always bitching, but they don't have the balls to just come out and say it. They're the hackers, botters and exploiters who have become so accustomed to racing strangers to the proverbial top 'o' the mountain, that they forget most players aren't slaving away with maximum efficiency like impoverished Chinese gold farmers.
Preventing players from being pigeon holed into repetitive farming practices has been one of D3's greatest successes IMO.
Have we forgotten why we wanted mob density everywhere instead of just act 3 halls?

I like the changes a lot, but at the same time I do miss the mob density we had in MPx, but it's a good balance with the xp gains ;p
