Can a Dfans Moderator or someone point me in the direction to the Forum guidelines that means people cannot post Leaked Videos?
People can put up all the datamined info they want including Maltheal Audio Files which are FINAL... but not a Blizzcon round up of the already datamined features?! .. come on...really?
The datamined info was "intentionally" leaked. This video was accidentally made public. Blizzard is working hard to delete them so I imagine DF don't want to get on their bad side.
Its all over your google/youtube just look for like 'blizzcon RoS leaked'... in last hour.. it is everywhere... so why moderate it here on dfans.. where we come to get this type of sneak peek early.

My 2cents.
It seems unlikely that Blizzard would 'intentionally leak' Maltheal Audio Files in the datamined files...
I sort of understand that stance but at the same time I would expect a dfans mod to say the reasoning since it is not a forum guideline to not post leaked info?
It's the mods decision what does or doesn't belong in the forums, bottom line. In this case, I believe they are right in their decision.
The difference is that Blizzard knows that they cannot contain the info in the RoS client. So they are a little more relaxed on what gets out and what doesn't. That video was specifically made for release at Blizzcon, And was only made public due to an error. It not only hurts the company, but cheats the people who are either attending or watching via Virtual ticket out of being the first to see it.
Think of it like this. What if somehow, your SSN was accidentally posted on the forums? Would you want them to leave it up, or delete it immediately?

I see the line in the sand. Time to find out who I am. Looking back to see where I stand. Evolution.
The video was a tad disappointing because I don't feel like I learned anything new =x Got to visually see some of the new things coming though so that was neat.

I had to google 'SSN' real quick just then
Yeah ok I get it..I just love my dfans info.
But at the same time that video has spread like wildfire...maybe the mods can stamp it out here but the fire is already out control...
All the things that are in the video we had known about however from the datamined files though.. while they may not have been 'confirmed' or be 'final' is a minor point in some ways...
We saw all those monsters for instance a month ago before the recent Blizzard front page showing them off
We knew about adventure mode
We knew about Nephalem trials/rifts
We know some of the bosses for RoS
So all the leaked video really did was confirm that those features have passed testing to the point that they will most likely ship with the game?

Exactly.. it wasn't like we saw anything we had never seen from the datamined info we have had for AGES
It's just a visual of what we already know. It was ...decent. A cock tease devoid of any real impactful info.
Kinda silly to try and stop the leak now. It'll be released tomorrow anyhow. Dfans needs Blizzard's support, so I'm not surprised by the actions taken here.

Its not like they leaked a new class for instance
I TRULLY believe that video is just a small part of what we will see from Blizzcon. What we saw at Gamescon was just a teaser to be honest.
Think about it, would you blow your "wad" (so to speak ) at a convention put on by someone else, or save the best stuff for your signature convention you actually host that is only a couple months down the road? You would be a PR moron if you did!

Even though the video is about D3, I feel like this thread in particular is about whether or not deleting links to the video is a correct stance.
Hence it's more about the forum rules and moderation than about D3 itself, so let's not take it too far (I will leave it open in case someone else wants to share their own insight really quick).
The datamined info was "intentionally" leaked. This video was accidentally made public. Blizzard is working hard to delete them so I imagine DF don't want to get on their bad side.
So basically it's a mix of a little bit of this...

Bots and hacks can be found online, but that doesn't mean we can allow them to have their place here. I realize it's not the best parallel or comparison, but I'm pretty sure you get the logic behind it.
Bottom line, we realized this particular issue was cause by a very unintended action and could have some dire consequences, and chose to take a "let's not help spread the fire" stance.
There really isn't much of a right or wrong side here, it's a matter of choice really. I hope at least you can understand that.

Ok cool, thanks for the reasoning Zero.
I think I just didn't see the difference between datamined info and a leaked video... I still sort of don't (based on some of the content in that datamined info) and it looks like you are choosing to put some fires out but not others .. it is sort of a blurred line.
But i respect your decision so feel free to lock this thread if you wish and will wait to discuss during/after blizzcon.
Would talking about what was seen in that video be within the boundaries?
Just curious, and cautious.
I guess it is. I mean, we can only go so far, and as CheehC pointed out it has kind of gotten out of control already.
I would like to point out that maybe (big disclaimer) its first appearance was from a post from one of our members. When I first saw it, at least, I personally checked the official forums, reddit and other fansites to see if it was leaked by them (checking if it was legit) and couldn't find anything like that.
So maybe we could argue that it only spread like a wildfire was because of DFans?

lol....I edited that out....sounded a bit harsh. I understand Dfans maneuvers from a business perspective. Such efforts smack the fans as a bit off-putting, however.
