Just released a new video on some sensitive material, it's a two part video.
First part is about the AH and my thoughts on how they should fix it.
Second part is about understanding how Paypal works and avoiding getting scammed (If you use Paypal which a lot of players in D3 do, this is worth a look).
I'm currently working on gathering information on safe methods of doing transactions outside the RMAH, if you or you know someone who has been scammed, please do share this info.
The AH information part is interesting. The playing around between RMAH and gold ah is something that not too many people actively do ( or are even in the league of doing, money wise. )
edit : saying things like "the gold AH servers no purpouse rigth now" is slightly elitist. There are MANY players who never owned a billion, and there are MANY items that arent worth nearly as much. And those people and items still wanna trade somewhere.
You need to realise that almost nobody ( my guess would be less than 1% of the player base ) is trading in the values you are talking about. The rest of the world is not concerned by the stuff you are talking about. Still interested in it though ^^
But god you are boring to listen to. next off if you sell outside the auction house you deserve to get scammed. use the proper routes. 3rd off. since im from europe i have no idea but the europe gold ah is not dead its alive much more than the real money ah since no one can get anything sold there.
Any case this fixes nothing. and if you said something more interesting later on i missed cause god im getting annoyed listening to that voice.
hint stop repeating the same freaking words constantly. it makes you sound like a douchebag.

I realize the player pool that deal with these issues are small, but there are still a large group of players that do actively trade for high end items.
Also it was never like this when gold was actually worth something.
But; next time please write a manuscript/cliffnotes, specially in the case of a "talking" video like this. This also goes to others who make videos - it gets a tiny bit annoying listening to you, when it sounds as if you make it up as you go along, and I get the feeling, that we, as the audience, are sort of "dragging" the words out of you.
Also, in the first around 10 min. it sounds as if, you are nitting a tinfoil hat or something, and it distracts quite alot from your content, and makes the impression, that you are too busy to actually make the video.
In regards to the content it self, I have but one question:
Why limit the gold aution house to 40 beez, and for that matter even limit the rmah? I know the reasoning for limitting the rmah, from Blizzards viewpoint, but in order to get TRUE value prices, and remove 3rd party websites, just remove the cap?
Thanks for the criticism, I do admit I am quite busy so the video was pretty rushed and not carefully planned.
I will try to work on those things you pointed out for the next similar video though.
Removing the cap wouldn't be a bad ideal at all to be honest.
Once gold prices rise back up, could always set a new cap at that time.
I skimmed that, but it's a terrible analysis. The D3 gold market hasn't suffered hyperinflation. Inflation is where everything becomes more expensive (at roughly the same rate, even)... that's nothing like what's happened with D3. The D3 market has suffered hyper bifurcation (yeah, it's a word. Look it up). An increasing amount of stuff is becoming increasingly low valued. You can pick up excellent gear for ridiculously small amounts of money... e.g. I regularly see 1400+ DPS 300 dex Skorns for under half a million.
What's happened in D3 is that the top gear, all the BiS stuff that will be the last thing people buy, those are skyrocketing in price... but I don't give a crap, because the gear that I want is either craftable, or slowly falling in price as more players leave the 'general goods' market and enter the 'BiS' market.
I'm picking that economist either got all their information second-hand (from breathless haters and panicking fanboys, from the looks of it), or spend 30 minutes playing the game and did some napkin math based on bad assumptions. /yawn
AFAIK it's against the ToS to trade in-game properties outside the game, e.g. directly via PayPal. If and how you get caught is another story, but I avoid the practice like the plague.

How does it feel to be a hater?
