EDIT: In regards to the fanboy comment, I dont care if it doesnt apply to me. It is flamebait. It is a troll comment. It is seeking to incite a response from people. I dont understand how it is allowed.
Just to help clarify something for any users that might also be wondering this.
There's a thin line that separates pure trolls from posts with small pokes like that; or that separates good discussions from flame-wars.
Specially in a case like this where the "flamebait" is paired with actual arguments (a hybrid post), it's kinda hard for us to decide on what to do. We don't wanna go all nazi and kill the discussion head on (by locking the thread, or infracting the user); but we also don't wanna let people have the feeling that the rules have no purpose.
Personally, I like to edit out the part of the post that's considered inflammatory (and hand out infractions, but I know I'm a trigger-happy mod so I'm always holding back as much as I can), but editing the post usually undermines its integrity and passion. And truth be told, passionate discussions/threads like this (with a "poke" at the end) are the ones with the most activity. Nice cute threads don't always have much discussion (like this one).
So I'd say we generally look at the community's response - if the thread generates enough "good discussion" (which is the purpose of any forum), then we allow it. If it turns out into an outrage and flame wars, then we step in and take action.
Just an fyi
I dont mind the thread existing, just comments like "fanboy". I see that particular post was deleted (and I dont know the behind-the-scenes here on if there were any warnings, so I am not saying anything about the modding and I dont really want to backseat mod), I just cant stand the fact that he has used the term so frequently to incite responses, that is like the definition of the term trolling.
@RabidDeer:- I told you the car example could not convey what i was thinking. But your WoW example isn't appropriate either as WoW is constantly receiving updates and expansions and stuff.Diablo 2 is receiving patches too and the ladder is still present but it is not as major as wow.And no i don't want the same feeling as D2 in fact i never even stated in any of my post that i think D2 is better than D3 until you said to me to go play D2.Its obvious both games will never be the same.
@All Forum Moderators:-So are you kidding me?You gave me an infraction for flaming?Who exactly did i flame?Just because some guy cries Flame!Flame! means you give me an infraction for flaming?Or is it that you don't like what i have stated in my original post is not being proved wrong? And anyway what does an infraction do?
And i know you will dodge this question and answer in some way that doesn't make sense but who did i flame?

He has every right to complain about the game he paid for being nothing but a shitty, feature stripped beta for the console version.

Updates, expansions and content doesnt change the core gameplay of a game in many cases (see: why I dont play WoW anymore). You also confuse me, because you say you were playing D2 and were super hyped about D3, then it came out and you were disappointed. This obviously means you dont think it was as good as D2, this game that you LOVED, otherwise you wouldve LOVED D3. Just because you didnt outright say you think D2 is better than D3 doesnt hide the underlying tone.
Anyway, do you still think the game was made for consoles? For the same reasons? Or have any of your opinions changed?
@RabidDeer:- D2 doesn't run on my laptop man.Window options and all.And i have stated in an earlier post in some other thread that i like D3 better. But the console version is much better than the pc version. That's what i'm saying the entire time.
What i wanna say:- I LIKE D3.CONSOLE VERSION IS BETTER.THEY GOT BETTER FEATURES,THE ONES WE'VE BEEN SCREAMING FOR.THE GOOD FEATURES OF PC ARE IN CONSOLE.THE BAD FEATURES ARE NOT.HENCE I SAY THE GAME'S BEEN ACTING AS A TESTING GROUND FOR CONSOLES UNTIL NOW.(capslock helps)
@Bandyto:- Oh so i am trolling? If you check the link you'll really find the post there. And that's a nice one LOL about liking potatoes when you can't do to prove anyone wrong.I'll add that to my list of lame excuses.
@All Forum Moderators:- Since you seem so keen on providing infractions overneathe,i'm gonna help you . I'll spam you with all Flame posts i find and i will see if Zero(ps) goes there and makes a big issue too.
@Zero(PS):- I found a thing about atk speed on the console video on home page.I haven't read your last post about atk speed will get back to you as soon as this infraction crap is explained to me or why i have seen 27 posts(As of now) till now that are clearly flaming yet there has been no action taken yet.
Edit:- Ok i have read that post.I did not take offense due to the ultra-facepalm because it was just for fun.Smileys are always for fun.Like this one:-
And about the cleave,in the video, first they show "Five Powerful Character Classes",then they show "Barbarian". During the barb segment there is a part where he cleaves a monster 3 times. When he hits the 3rd time, he is not facing the monster but rather facing towards one side/corner of the monster. And he still cleaves. This shows that whenever you will press the "X" button the barb will cleave right there instantly without the requirement of a target.(Just like shift- attacking).
I've seen this in many games like god of war where even if you are not exactly facing the monster but facing in the general direction you are able to hit.And never in those type of hits have i seen attack speed or holding the button coming into play.So one thing is clear you dont have to hold the button which means that the Cleave depends on your speed not on attack speed.Because its present in every console game, this mechanic.

First off you created this topic right from the start with flaming people on the forums without thinking they could be affected by that. I warned you immediately. Second is that you have an opinion, as expressed here:
What i wanna say:- I LIKE D3.CONSOLE VERSION IS BETTER.THEY GOT BETTER FEATURES,THE ONES WE'VE BEEN SCREAMING FOR.THE GOOD FEATURES OF PC ARE IN CONSOLE.THE BAD FEATURES ARE NOT.HENCE I SAY THE GAME'S BEEN ACTING AS A TESTING GROUND FOR CONSOLES UNTIL NOW.(capslock helps)
What you want to do is change everyone's point of view to this opinion and that's not how it works. Calling people that don't share yours "fanboys" does not help your cause at all and is, in fact, flaming. Your post was reported and actions were taken. You're free to report people that you think flame you and the moderation stuff will look over their posts.
Third and actually most important - you do not discuss moderation openly on the forums. You PM the moderator that infracted you or contact the moderation manager/administrator of the site if you want to complain about the infraction.
As is written in our rules located on top of our forum indexes of this site:
Do not, under any circumstances, publicly discuss moderation about threads, members, social groups, visitor messages, albums, and/or blogs in any public venue. PM Daemaro if you feel you have been unfairly treated.
And you said at the starting something about people putting me in corner of their minds you didn't warn me at all.
Edit:- I created this topic right off the bat flaming? You didn't tell me so.

I didn't think I had to flat out tell you "you are flaming, don't". I was thinking that "at least try and pretend you don't hate a lot of the users here? Throwing the word fanboy around like people are going around with it printed on their shirts will not help you in your arguments." is plenty to hang on to.

You said it runs pink, but now it doesnt run at all? And the console version isnt released, you dont even know how itll play. If the only things you like about the console version are listed in the OP those have ALREADY been debunked:
Items? We are getting it.
Camera angles on boss battles? As has been said, on the PC version this is a detriment as it becomes harder to move around without direct control.
Dodge? We can already dodge, we dont need a button. Also, "dodge buttons" are notoriously liked on consoles and usually disliked on PC
Which bad features are not on console but are on PC? If you say RMAH/AH, I will call you silly because this is an optional feature that you dont need to use. Also, we havent been a testing ground for consoles... this is tinfoil hat level conspiracy. We are a testing ground for ourselves. Everything that is in the console is in the PC version. They couldve just as easily sold tons more copies off of the initial hype (prior to the bad press) if they had released it on both the console and PC at the same time. But they didnt. Why? Because the game wasnt developed for a console.
And about the cleave,in the video, first they show "Five Powerful Character Classes",then they show "Barbarian". During the barb segment there is a part where he cleaves a monster 3 times. It is a shift-click. They dont have a mouse to target so pushing your button likely attacks in the direction you face. This doesnt mean that itll attack as fast as possible by mashing the button. If you want the same experience, go mash a button on your PC while holding shift. It will have the same result.
Different games are different. Also, in many situations holding the button isnt optimal, depending on the ability. Also, it has been said that attack speed was listed on the equipment. Why would attack speed be present on items if it were irrelevant?
But i've seen many other posts like that where people call anyone who loves this game a brainwashed-idiot and anyone who hates this game an EA-fanboy(Why?) or a moron. So i thought this was no different.
The fact bugs me that you gave me a slight warning from the start and then took action after 60+ replies.
If that statement was harsh, then the ones in the original post were 10x harsh.
Anyway lets not discuss modding on the forums, until my infraction wears off or i start paying as a curse member.

B; I understand you like some features that console has that PC doesn't. This however does not mean D3 was meant for consoles first and PC has been a testing ground.
I know I'm quoting myself here, but Cult, again, take a quick look at my post and the highlighted parts. It might help you understand the line of thought we try to follow.
Just because we try to hold back and let people have a discussion doesn't mean the rules weren't broken. Plus, the overall behaviour after the post comes to mind as well, if you had made only absolutely perfect and rule-abiding posts after that one, we might have considered it and held back. Since a lot of the posts were still in the same sense and tone, it's the time for a heads-up. And that's what an infraction is, just a heads-up that someone's straying way too far from the forum spirit. Again, let's not make a mountain out of a molehill.
And there's no prescription on the forums, we reserve ourselves the right to handle infractions when we see the posts or when we deem necessary.
I'm not going to argue with you (yet) but if you want to sound like a reasonable person at least try and pretend you don't hate a lot of the users here? Throwing the word fanboy around like people are going around with it printed on their shirts will not help you in your arguments.
You were warned on the first page that your VERY FIRST POST was antagonistic. You could have eased up a bit, but you chose to, especially in the last two pages, really hit the gas pedal with the insults. You went so far as to make a post whose text was only
The game was made for consoles get over it blizz fanboys(targeting no one in particular).
which ABSOLUTELY crossed the line. That's almost certainly what got you infracted. It was so absurdly unnecessary, it wasn't a part of another post, which frequently get overlooked because the mods here ARE fairly lenient. It was a stand-alone post whose only purpose was to flame people, when you should have been easing up on the hate rhetoric bullshit.
We get that you feel that the game has been designed for a console, but you refuse to respond to the mountains of evidence supplied that suggest exactly the opposite - namely that they CLEARLY have had to redesign stuff for the console from the PC version, whereas if the game were developed for a console with the PC version as the afterthought, all this interface stuff and other obvious changes should have been made. It shouldn't have taken over a year (at this point) to get all these new camera angles, controller commands, etc. ready for launch.
What you're suggesting would imply a timeline that is very different from what we've actually observed which, in and of itself, really casts serious doubt on the rest of your casual observations as to why the game was "designed for consoles."
And, honestly, the idea that they gave us a shitty PC version so that we'd have to go buy a better console version rather defies logic, period. That would basically be Blizzard committing massive suicide. They'd lose such a huge chunk of their fanbase by making that kind of douche move that it would never be worth the short-term gains from extra sales. It completely goes against any semblence of business sense. Why some of you people continue to insist that Blizzard is trying to make money by submarining their fans is just beyond me. Blizzard has been successful by doing the very opposite. It just completely lacks common sense and it has absolutely no precedent either.

If it has no target, why say it? What purpose did that post have?
1.By not running i meant the pink thing,Its the same as not running since you aren't able to play properly.(Unless you have super resistant eyes)
There are numerous topics that should help resolve the problem, a simple google should fix it. Here is what I found:
Install D2
Patch it completely (by connecting to bnet)
Run the video test (should be in the install directory of D2)
Right click the game and d2 .exe and go to properties -> compatibility. Run it in Win XP compatibility mode/256 colors/disable desktop composition/run as administrator
This should fix it, if not you can download a glide wrapper that should fix it.
2.I've never believed the RMAH to be bad.Cos its upto you whether you use it or not and it has reduced the effectiveness of 3rd party sites if not renedered them completely useless.I've posted in many threads asking how the RMAH has ruined the game.

GMAH is no different than a 3rd party site like d2jsp. If you can resist d2jsp you can resist GMAH. I also find it hard to believe you have a lot of gold from not using the GMAH ever. The GMAH was practically necessary early on when inferno was brutally hard, but now it is not.
They didn't sell it at the starting because as they said they were still working on it.Isn't that obvious? The console team hadn't even completely developed the game at that time.
If a game was made for consoles, how could they still be working on it for such a long time? It makes no sense to have it made for a console then release it on PC first. As I said earlier, they wouldve been way better off if they rode the hype train and released it on both console and PC at the same time.
3.Holding the button isn't optimal because it doesn't make sense in consoles.Seriously anyone who has played a console game knows that, even Arpgs.
It makes sense in certain circumstances. Say, whirlwind for a barb. It makes sense to hold it down. Lets say you are beating on a high hp melee mob and are tanking it... again a good decision to hold the button down. Button mashing only comes into play when movement is necessary, and if you are decent at games you can learn timing and hold the button down at the right time shortly before the attack is ready again. Mashing is actually inefficient if the game supports holding the button down.

Anyway, do you still think the game was made for consoles? For the same reasons? Or have any of your opinions changed?

Ha. Bagstone.
And you said at the starting something about people putting me in corner of their minds you didn't warn me at all.
Edit:- I created this topic right off the bat flaming? You didn't tell me so.

Ha. Bagstone.
It is a shift-click. They dont have a mouse to target so pushing your button likely attacks in the direction you face. This doesnt mean that itll attack as fast as possible by mashing the button. If you want the same experience, go mash a button on your PC while holding shift. It will have the same result.
Different games are different. Also, in many situations holding the button isnt optimal, depending on the ability. Also, it has been said that attack speed was listed on the equipment. Why would attack speed be present on items if it were irrelevant?
The fact bugs me that you gave me a slight warning from the start and then took action after 60+ replies.
If that statement was harsh, then the ones in the original post were 10x harsh.
Anyway lets not discuss modding on the forums, until my infraction wears off or i start paying as a curse member.

B; I understand you like some features that console has that PC doesn't. This however does not mean D3 was meant for consoles first and PC has been a testing ground. This is evident in the fact that they had to change core elements such as camera angle, dodge moves, drop rates and skills for console.
You can be mad that console features aren't on the PC, that's fine. Going as far as you have at trying to instigate flame wars is another thing.
1.By not running i meant the pink thing,Its the same as not running since you aren't able to play properly.(Unless you have super resistant eyes)
2.I've never believed the RMAH to be bad.Cos its upto you whether you use it or not and it has reduced the effectiveness of 3rd party sites if not renedered them completely useless.I've posted in many threads asking how the RMAH has ruined the game.
However, however,i do believe the GMAH has ruined the game. When you have farmed for a lot of time and you have found no upgrades, but you have a good amount of gold, you will want to check the GMAH,no matter how much you hate it.And then you can't stop yourself from buying that awesome upgrade since you have the gold and you are frustrated by useless farming. That's the reason it hasn't been removed yet.
They didn't sell it at the starting because as they said they were still working on it.Isn't that obvious? The console team hadn't even completely developed the game at that time.
3.Holding the button isn't optimal because it doesn't make sense in consoles.Seriously anyone who has played a console game knows that, even Arpgs.

You were warned on the first page that your VERY FIRST POST was antagonistic. You could have eased up a bit, but you chose to, especially in the last two pages, really hit the gas pedal with the insults. You went so far as to make a post whose text was only
which ABSOLUTELY crossed the line.
Well first thing i in all my posts i have replied to people without starting a flame war. They're saying the same things again and again an im still replying calmly.I have not started a flame war,but a war of words.
Second, that post which was "Flame" was not even targeted at anyone.

Your very first post consisted of calling anyone who didn't agree with you fanboys, and making fun of them / laughing at them.
No discussing modding on forums

There are numerous topics that should help resolve the problem, a simple google should fix it. Here is what I found:
Install D2
Patch it completely (by connecting to bnet)
Run the video test (should be in the install directory of D2)
Right click the game and d2 .exe and go to properties -> compatibility. Run it in Win XP compatibility mode/256 colors/disable desktop composition/run as administrator
This should fix it, if not you can download a glide wrapper that should fix it.
GMAH is no different than a 3rd party site like d2jsp. If you can resist d2jsp you can resist GMAH. I also find it hard to believe you have a lot of gold from not using the GMAH ever. The GMAH was practically necessary early on when inferno was brutally hard, but now it is not.
If a game was made for consoles, how could they still be working on it for such a long time? It makes no sense to have it made for a console then release it on PC first. As I said earlier, they wouldve been way better off if they rode the hype train and released it on both console and PC at the same time.
