My money is on him working on Blizzard Dota. But yeah, Overneathe is right. He wouldn't announce he's leaving Diablo for Diablo. The console and PC version may have their differences, but the content is all the same.

Bashiok - Blizzard Representative - 08/01/2011 -"So how many skill combinations are there now? Well taking into account 6 active skills, all the rune combinations, and 3 passives we currently expect each class to have roughly 2,285,814,795,264 different build combinations."
"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
Jay Wilson made himself toxic to the Diablo franchise. He accomplished some great design within D3, but the fails greatly overshadowed these wins.
No way they associate him with the Diablo brand.
My guess is that he's not going to be a Blizz employee for very long. Just a hunch.
I disagree on that. Jay Wilson isn't going anywhere as long as the cash flows in.
There has to be animosity seething within the ranks, has to be. This man dedicated years of his life, long hours and likely a great deal of stress developing this game.
D3 was his baby.
He was removed from the project, I have no doubt about this. The internal politics of Blizz would never allow you to be privy to exactly what happened.
Lets just wait and see what they attach his name to next. I'm just speculating, but I have a feeling that he may separate himself from the company for a fresh start somewhere else.
Jay Wilson actually did a ton of work on the ps3 version of diablo3.... Because its the same damn game just new UI and control scheme. So yea its called common sense guys.
Even if he were involved with the ps3 changes do you have some kinda of delusional ideas that the ps3 version is going to be better than the PC version? perhaps we werent watching the same gameplay trailer.
I dont give a damn about the game not having offline mode on the PC but I think its funny they used the word IMPOSSIBLE for the pc version being offline. Cause yea diablo1 and 2 were online only too right? rofl.
offline mode just means you can hack and mod it easier which is why they dont want to allow it. i guess because people made diablo1 much better in mods than the actual release was.
He's not in charge of anything. He might be on Titan or Titan JR or Titan III but he's not the lead system design.
When your team wins the super bowl every year, you don't get moved to a different team, you stay the coach. If you're team is bad than your term as coach as ends, you may go to a better team but your probably not the coach, probably an assistant.
As we know, Diablo III didn't win the super bowl. Hopefully the next coach can get us into the playoffs.

He's still Game Director on this other project.
People seem to think titles matter much to Blizzard.
