For me I'll be sticking with D3, and may pickup FF XIV for PS3 to play with a buddy when 2.0 is released. The only MMO I've ever played is WoW (Mac owner here) so my options are fairly limited, which I'm okay with keeps me focused on the important stuff. WoW has run its course with me though, I've done bleeding edge, I've done casual. I'm honestly ready to be done with it.
I think my breaking point was when watching beta patch notes, and the fact that there are macro commands for the pet battles. I don't know why it bugged me, but that just felt like way to much time being spent on in game Pokemon, when they have been having so many issues with just producing good content, balancing PVP over the past two expansions.
I'm sure that will come off as strange to many as my breaking point, but eh. Also I like owning my time, and the raid schedules don't really allow that. D3 I can plop down, do a speed run or two and then call it if I want.
I'll play a bit of MoP, only because I have the annual pass until the end of October, but since my work schedule now prevents me from raiding, I doubt I'll stick with it after that. Unless D3 comes up with some sort of endgame other than "farm items until your eyes bleed," I'll be playing Torchlight 2 and Guild Wars 2 instead.
I didn't have the time to put into WoW. So missed out on a lot of raiding and such, so just lost interest. Where as D3 is more, pick up and play. SO it works a lot better for me personally.
What a silly question. D3 isn't an MMO so why would I need to choose? Obviously I'll be super busy with WoW around MoP release so D3 will be on the backburner along with all my other games.
I'm playing neither at the moment, but I'll start playing WoW when patch 5.0.1 comes out, and Diablo 3 when patch 1.0.4 comes out. I've been catching up on a ton of PS2 games I haven't completed, mostly from the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. Digital Devil Saga at the moment.
And for those who ask, I read these forums because I don't hate Diablo 3. I just took a break until legendaries get legendary. I quit WoW because I ran out of things to do. I don't raid at home because my computer sucks and I just hate the drama and schedules that normal/heroic/hardcore requires. Yes, that's right, I use LFR. Hate away. But for some people like me, who can only really play at certain times, specifically at school in the computer lab inbetween classes, LFR is a godsend. I would have never been able to experience Dragon Soul without it, and it's not because I suck, or am a casual, or anything like that.
Oh, and I'm really looking forward to MoP. You may not like pet battles, but the prospect is awesome. I love games that have you collect monsters and battle them, whether they're Pokemon, Digimon, Monster Rancher, etc. I also love turn based RPGs.
I don't like the pandas, but that won't change me getting MoP. (:

When I grow up, I want to be a frill-necked lizard.
I haven't enjoyed any MMORPG except Dark Age of Camelot and Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, and they're both dead.
No, I won't be going back to WoW.
This, except I only enjoy EVE Online and only in a very limited fashion.
I would have tried EVE Online but I'm not really into futuristic shit. I'm all about the medieval/fantasy type stuff.
I've been playing a bit of Diablo III but I'm also playing Dungeon Siege III and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Also, i just started The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. I love Diablo III to death but I don't want to burn out on it (which I fear I've already started to, just by playing so much!).
I did the AP so I have been in the MoP beta since the second wave I think? It's fun-ish but not great. This will be the first WoW xpac I do not get at release, assuming I pick it up at all. I was hoping for more out of the Monk class and I just don't like the direction it's going. That being said, I think it's going to do really well because it is aimed at, and hits the spot perfectly for, the casual crowd. I will play D3 on and off and I have recently gotten more interested in Darksiders II (thought it looked terrible at first) and RE6.
Without a doubt Guild Wars 2. From playing the 3 beta weekends so far, I have to say it's just superior to diablo in every way :/
And I have never played WoW, but it seems like it has it's own problems and I wouldn't be thrilled paying a subscription fee for a mostly PvE game.
PvP is my main attraction, and GW2 is completely structured around PvP, while also having amazing PvE (most games are the other way around unfortunately, or having no PvP at all)

GW2 seems very limited, the idea of skills associating with weapons is neat but you don't get to choose the skills. There aren't like 20 sword skills and 20 axe skills to choose from for their respective weapon. It's "you are using a sword, your first 5 skill slots with be this and only this" which is aggravating.
This fact, while frustrating, was one I was actually willing to look past, trying to keep an open mind because I admire that they're trying something unique. My real issue with GW2 was when I was wondering why it seemed to take far longer to level from 5-6 or 6-7 than it should in a game that has 80 levels. Don't jump to conclusions, I'm going somewhere with this.
So the extremely low level leveling process seemed to be counter-intuitively taking longer than it should, all things considered (I've played many mmo's and the like). What could be the solution to this mystery? I kept exploring the beta anyway. Finally, while just trying to explore the different features I discovered, to my horror, that they implemented a "Pay To Win" system that they call something like "Black Lion Trading Post". The point can be argued that it's not a necessity to play the game but it's hard to believe that when it the leveling process actually feels like they hamstring your xp gains just so that you'll buy the bonus xp buffs with real money in a game you already paid for. There's even a buff that you buy with real money that increases your MF by 50%, like you would ever want to be without that buff. With things like this added, nobody can convince me that the game isn't "pay to win" like most quote unquote "free" games.
TLDR: I prepurchased gw2, during the beta I discovered they made it pay2win even though it's a game you have to purchase, immediately decided to get a refund(their customer service was spectacular though)
*edit - I thought it might be noteworthy to add that I absolutely loved GW1 and wanted with all my heart to enjoy GW2 but...eww
I'll be sticking with D3 and playing some other games, not really WoW though. Done with that unless it becomes free to play then I'll mess with pet battles.

My BNet Profile
there isn't much of a choice there
atm i feel like WoW ~ Diablo 3
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
Now I'm just logging D3 to sell stuff and use the $$$ I earned from RMAH to pay for WoW.
This, except I only enjoy EVE Online and only in a very limited fashion.
My heart aches every moment from your absence, whoever you are.
Pandas and Pokemon are great, it's flushing all the turds out of the game!
