On different items, Physical, Cold, Arcane, etc. resistance is sometimes found. Is there a single resistance that is seen more often on armor than others that you have noticed?
I think I've noticed cold resist more than anything.
How about you?
Each resist should, in theory, have the same chance to appear as all the others. I know I haven't really noticed any resists dropping more often than the others.
I notice arcane resist when it drops, but that's only because I've chosen to stack that as a Monk using One With Everything.
That's exactly why I'm wondering. If I can find the most common resist (assuming they aren't all equally on different items), it'll make looking for gear easier. (Since there's only 3 search blocks and I'm trying to stack all resist with specific resist)
But enough about my Monk's life story.
Anyone else notice certain resists showing up on items more (or less) than others?
The market seems to make one more valuable than the other, but in terms of availability on the market and drop rate, there is no difference.
Fire is more expensive than others because of higher demand, cold/lightning I've found to be the cheapest. I'm going with poison, also on the cheap side.
Physical resist is probably the most expensive, it's easily the most important resistance. Followed by Fire. Cold and Poison are probably going to be the cheapest.
As a monk, you pick one singular element, and stack the crap out of it.
As any other class, since we don't get that amazing passive Monks do, you could look at what you biggest threat is:
Fire - Molten, Mortar, Fire Chains
Arcane - Arcane Enhanced
Cold - Frozen
Poison - Plagued
So that will easily tell you why Fire is a little more pricy: It covers more powers (many of which are generally annoying). I mean I wanted to cry when I got the Fast + Mortar + Molten + Fire Chains pack a few days ago... dear GOD.
i've been playing a monk all along and found that the most "common" res if lightning, just spam the hell over lightning res and you should have some 600+ on all res (im on a1 inferno)
Fire - Molten, Mortar, Fire Chains, Desecrator
Arcane - Arcane Enhanced
Lightning - Electrified
Cold - Frozen
Poison - Plagued
You forgot two! Fixed!
Fire also tends to be the hardest to avoid. A lot of that is due to the fact that mobs tend to hit you even though you weren't standing in the spot they attacked (there's a big post about that on these forums and I've noticed that behavior particularly with mortar). There's also the fact that it's not possible to have two poison, cold, lightning, or arcane abilities on one monster, but it's technically possible to have a monster that has all four fire-based affixes and it's not quite that uncommong to see a monster that has at least two fire affixes, not to mention the chance of seeing at least one fire affix is significantly higher.
Dont tell me the Devs did even think about seperated elemental resistances. they dont even make a difference between fire, lightning and poison because on their end its all about 'dps'. Bring back the Schaefer Brothers to get back some of the depth in combat and game mechanics. Im not even asking for a Horadric Cube.

It seems fire and the poison blobs on the ground do the most damage to me.
So I always try to find all resist and fire first. Fire chains if you're in the center of three mobs with it on them... your health will go from full to nothing in seconds.

Hmm, I hadn't noticed fire being more expensive. This helps though.

Your post doesn't make any sense at all.
Are you even trying?
