I'm currently stuck at the Kill Azmodan quest because the elite packs are a bitch depending on what you get. I actually got 1 shot to fight him this morning before work and got him to about 35% and then died to the lava pools my hp regen is horrid I ran around most of the fight after the first set of pools with 30% hp.
Edit: Now that I think about it, no one on my FL have completed A2 on Inferno, which is pretty sad.
wow..That's pretty sad, most people on my FL are past act 2, and many are past act 3.. Myself, I'm on a4 on dh and a2 on monk, and a2 as monk seems relatively easy so far.
OT: nah, no quitting until 1.0.3! I'd rather beat the game pre-nerf than post-nerf. Challenge is fun, nerfing challenge isn't.
i will be farming act 2 and 3 until the patch comes. Got my wizard at act 4, second boss,my barb at act 2 and monk in act 2 inferno due to the big ass wall in act 2 i had to lvl a range class since the barb was my first to reach act 2 inferno. Looking forward to patch since then we all can get some progress and farm some more sweet loot
I love inferno as it is, or even more is it were. Where monster still made more dmg.
The bigger challenge the more fun.
If i would have been done with inferno on day 3, there wouldent have been any challenge, and game would have been boring.
Now it really takes some skill, and some good skill/rune combinations to really do good. And ofc hunt for items, and grind gold to get more items.
Yes I have, having cleared inferno with both a wizard and a Barbarian, the only thing left would be farming but its damn boring right now. I'll test 1.0.3 after vacations.
Im personally done with D3 until 103. Killed Inferno Diablo and farm ponies with ease. I already feel like I need more content, but that could be because I only ever farm Act 1 and Whimsyshire due to the mobs of 2-4. We'll see though. That and farming is boring with legendaries being worthless. I've gotten 5 or 6 within the last week, all but 1 was terrible. /sad
Alright look, the game has issues. Some people keep demanding that it should have been this or that, which is just plain idiotic. The game is not whatever they wanted it to be, so get over it. The game is released, accept what it is and move on. In fact, it's a month since release, so why the moan crowd is still sticking around is beyond me.
I see from this statement you now get my "the ship has sailed" point still, as you said, people giving all this "feedback" (even though most of it is in a negative form) might help us get that near-perfect expansion we all dream.
As far as boss patterns goes, one thing that would absolutely improve them imho is mix their behaviours in the higher difficulties. I've never seen a Butcher throw 4 grabbing spears in a row, or maybe charge, stop, charge again, stop, charge again (you know, every now and then as an improved charge where he doesn't stun himself on the first try).
A -> B -> C -> D boss patterns could be easily improved by allowing bosses to make a crazy move and throw a D-D-D-D every now and then. And the whole summoning champs concept would add a lot to it as well imho. I can see people complaining though how they got "unlucky" with the affixes or with an attack pattern and died to RNG, though I wouldn't because the thrill would be awesome
Maybe they can also change Acts 1 and 2 mobs/bosses to match Acts 3/4 by simply increasing the monster level after you beat Inferno, so it's all plain again. Pretty simple change that could help keep those acts fresh.
@Stephenk291
Well, ilvl 62 has a drop rate of 8% in Act I and ilvl 63 has a 2% chance, while ilvl 62 has a 12% drop rate in Act II and ilvl 63 has a 4%, which is a lot more than the current 0%. We can debate the impact these seemingly trivial percentages will have on the game, but we won't really know the effect until its released.
The main problem with Act II Inferno is the unexpected damages that they expect you to soak, but as the design document said: "In patch 1.0.3 we’re going to be lowering that wall by adjusting the damage and health of monsters in Inferno Act II, III and IV." They intend to 'smooth the difficulty ramp', which I expect will flow a bit more like it is when you go from Hell to Inferno, where you need better gear, but it doesn't seem impossible. I expect many people who have Act I on autopilot will now function far better in Act II, but it still wont be a cake walk, which is fine. Inferno should be difficult.
Yeah, sure, they may have dropped the ball. We agree that the game has many cracks that needs to be filled. This is my favorite franchise, too, and will remain as such. D3's minor complaints are far from Earth shattering. What I just fail to understand is, how are these so called 'diehard' fans going off the deep end, condemning the game and company, and then refuse to ever touch it again. If they truly are such great fans, then clearly they'd see the solid framework the game had established. If these people were so 'in love' with Diablo, then they'd definitely sit tight, support the developers in the process of improving the game. The game isn't great, but a person must be blind not to see that in time it will be. If you don't feel that way and want to give up, then you really aren't a fan of Diablo.
I like a challenge, and ACT II inferno has been tough, but I'm getting through it. I always look for deals on the AH and buy cheap for small upgrades. Also finding the right build, even if it's not your playstyle, based on your gear is critical. Learning to kite is a big deal. And I don't mind dying as long as I'm making money in the long haul and getting a shot at decent drops. I do skip the occasional impossible elite pack that is positioned on top of my revive point, etc. Or if I pull 2 elite packs at once, etc.
who care about challenge, all I care about is lootz! for which they seldomly drop, most of them are vendor trash
people would do whatever it takes to get lootz off the elite/boss, for instance take advantage of the bugged mob/boss, kill them and collect free lootz without repair bill, unfortunately there arent many bugged elites, just found a few in act 3
you play a video game to have fun and kill leisure time, its dumb to play a stupid video game to get frustrated from getting 1 shotted
increasing repair cost will make essentially encourage ppl to farm act 1 and ignore other acts, since gold can tranfer into lootz from AH
I still think they should up the difficulty of act 1 and just smooth out some damage spikes from certain mobs. Playing as a monk hasn't been easy, but I'm able to do 5 stack Siegebreaker and finally can tank lickers !!! For those of you that give up easy, this isn't the game for you. Higher gear dropping in lower acts was supposed to be in game from the start. Except for act 3/4 as they stated. For the one that farmed goblins in softcore, that is not the way to do it. HC farm goblins because it's the safest way when you only have one life. To me it seems like everyone is just looking for the easy way out and since the stupid real money auction house is involved players are coming up with the stupidest ways to farm gear ( killing same mob for hours on end that spawn from tower in act 2 REALLY!?).
At the same time it's ruining the players experience that are just playing the game. I was having fun on a demon hunter alt in act 4, i killed every vase i came across like usual with nothing dropping. Then I remembered the patch notes. If they decided to nerf the gold that drops is fine, but for nothing to drop, just take the vases out of the game so I don't waste my time. This is a game, it's meant to be fun. After I was able to 5 stack Kulle/Belial i took a break and messed around on a barb. Same thing after I pounded my head against a wall for 5 stack Siege. I am messing around on alts. My tip is don't go all in on one character, take a break and enjoy yourself. This is my opinion and not to offend anyone, but after seeing nerf here nerf there QQ everywhere I had to get this off my chest.
Just curious to see if anyone else has decided to step away from the game until at least 1.03.
I started a barbarian and got it to 60 and immediately hit a brick wall in A2 inferno. The only viable way to get past this was to amass a crap ton of gold or now spend $$ on the RMAH to get past it. I have grown frustrated and even bored with the game due to the imbalances, downtime, bugs, exploits, and lack of overall direction this game has taken.
This isn't a rage/rant thread about quitting or taking a break. I'm just curious if anyone else has decided or is leaning toward stepping away until at least 1.03.
/thoughts?
This is simply not true. Act2 is easy on a barb with sword and board, 700 resist all, around 40k hp, and around 8 to 9k dps. The cost for this type of gear is less than one million gold, thats if you need to buy everything.
If you needed to throw in the towel until nerfs help you play the game, then inferno probably isnt for you. Inferno requires you to research a little, find out the best stats for your character, and most importantly, to have quick reflexes to not stand in the fire on the ground and die.
Avoiding damange in act2 makes it much easier.
I guess I shouldn't have given any sort of character information as part of my rant, as I stated a few pages back my barb isn't my only 60, nor is it the only character I've got to inferno. I have a wizard as well that got to act 4 farming but I didn't really do much due to not a lot of time to game. However playing both a ranged and melee class, the shear differences in difficulty is astounding, and in terms of how ranged classes are built versus melee (resist wise). My barbarian with shout was around 650-750 resists depending on which element. However the fact that melee require a total defensive turtle type of play style to be affective isn't fair or balanced at all as opposed to range who just kite and fuck shit up (to put it simply, i want to be able to just rush in with a big fucking 2 hander and destroy shit)
I don't think voicing negativity about the game, complaining, or taking a breath *throwing in the towel* doesn't make me a true fan of the franchise. That's what true passionate gamers do, is to critique the game at face value and hope that the concerns they voice resonate with the community and prompt change (which some have been successful with in 1.03).
