Wondering what’s going on in the "brain" of Blizzard? Wonder why so much down time? Why so much nerfing? Why so many errors? It must be new programmers! No, it was poor beta testing! No, wait! They actually want to extend the life of the game for your maximum pleasure!! Well, I’m here to set the record straight. I have words that came straight from a Blizzard leak. A leak I was asked not to share, but feel compelled to because it makes me sick to my stomach. Ladies and gentlemen, the only thing that is being exploited...is you. The only thing that’s being inappropriately farmed...is your hard earned (or not) money. This term was described to me as "Profit farming". That needs little explanation. However, the means and ends of this corrupt practice, in part by Blizzard, do. First, let’s talk about individual progression: Do you really think Blizzard cares whether or not you beat/finish/farm your game? Normally they would not. But when profits are at stake, then they take a keen interest. Profit preservation. What does that mean in terms of progression? Well, if 2 million people could beat/farm Act 4 Inferno by the end of this week then that leads to an overpopulation of great items on the Gold AH which in turn gears 2 million more to have ACT 4 on Farm. Now, Blizzard has a solid base of people to use RMAH. And that, is the devil in the details. The RMAH. As you may already know, Blizzard gets a small % cut of what you sell along with PayPal getting their 15% transfer fee. What’s the big deal with that you ask? Blizzard entered into what’s called a "Transfer Profit Assurance" agreement with PayPal. In short, it means that Blizzard has GARUNTEED a certain amount of monies to PAYPAL for their involvement in this operation. If the transfer guarantee isn’t met, the Blizz forks the rest out of pocket. This agreement also allows Blizz direct oversight and support of all monetary transactions. In short, most of the time if there is a transfer of funds or withdrawal issue, you contact PAYPAL, with Blizz being in this clause agreement, you can contact them directly for any disputes or discrepancies. This also gives them the right to administer or revoke RMAH privileges. Now on to the nerfing and errors. How does it all tie in? You think Blizz is upgrading and enhancing performance or rewriting bugs? No they are in fact deleting WHOLE LINES OF CODE that would allow for exploits and fast tracking. To make it simple, instead of putting more notches in the Diablo belt allowing for a more comfortable fit, they are removing sections of the belt entirely and sewing it back together, effectively tightening it. This keeps you from progressing. Keeps you from gearing at an accelerated rate and...most importantly keeps the business around for the RMAH. It’s all about the profit farming my friends. You can choose to believe this or dismiss it as a troll. Only a fool would believe an ANON post on the internet.................Your decision. Your money. Your life.
So, you mean.... blizz is... doing this for their....profit.....OH EM GEEE....NO WAY...... This absolutely can't be true...
More seriously... What did you believe? That they were making this game purely for your entertainment? Because they had some people sitting there in their breaks creating games for free?
More than ever one certain thing applies: You don't want it? Don't do it. So far everyone can decide for himself what he does or not.

Argh. I don't agree with much of what the OP said, and his "leaked source" would definitely need to be identified for me to be anything less than totally skeptical. However, what probably makes me more mad is people who take the time to post "TLDR" or something about a "wall of text." First of all, it probably takes more effort to do that than to just read the post. Secondly, it's not like we're looking at Finnegan's Wake here folks: he wrote a total of maybe 4 paragraphs' worth of information (albeit not formatted that way). Is this really "too long" for you to read? And if you're too lazy to read it (and that's cool if so, I'm not saying everyone has to read everything), isn't it sort of out of character to then take the very active (read: not lazy) step of posting a response?

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.
The RMAH gives Blizzard continuing profit to keep the game fresh and maintained for years to come. The RMAH is optional....you don't have to use it....but it will benefit you because it creates continuing profit post-sale from D3 and Bliz will have incentive to keep D3 buzzing.
Knock off the "We are the 99%" anti-corporate bullshit...if it weren't for "greedy corporations" you wouldn't have such kick ass games to play.
Somebody hand me a broken bottle....I'm about to slit
Blizzard isn't taking steps to correct many of the exploits people are using to farm act 4 inferno mobs, barrels, and weapon racks, which is in turn flooding the market with high powered items and driving their prices down. Doesn't this fact basically invalidate your entire argument?
Wow, A company is lookign for a profit? Holy shit where have I seen that before... Microsoft, Ea, Activision, Apple, toshiba, Panasonic, Sony, Scholastic, your schools, the government, YOU! douchebag. You make a profit too, off of others expenses don't be so high and mighty to judge when you do the exact same thing as they do.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Not to diss, but it is actually a sound profit making decision on their part. This sequel has an immense potential of profit, so, naturally, businessmen will try to extract every last drop. As a businessman myself, I fail to see the problem with the situation. Fine, the 'deleting lines of code' bit didn't go down well, as it sounds like they are deliberately making the game worse, which is ridiculous in any case, but the rest of it is fine by me. It is a business model and a decision to make money using the RMAH and, obviously, the game must allow this to happen.
No surprise from my part. Or from my friends for that matter.
Here's my comment on Blizzard's cut from the RMAH, and their 'greed'
Imagine you owned a building, and in that building was all the provisions and equipment necessary to run a business.
So, if people came in and made money using your provisions, and your equipment, in your building, only supplying the labor, wouldn't you expect a cut, too?
*Any* amount of cash you can take out is free money that would never had happened without Blizzard's assistance. You're making money from their intellectual property. Of course, they're going to take a cut. Just be glad it's no higher than it is.
In the US, $1.00+15% 'cut' from a wearable item still leaves you with a little over 19 dollars in your pocket on a 25 dollar sale, after Paypal takes their ~3%. A $25 commodity (gem, let's say) gets hit harder, but still nets you close to 17 dollars. And it's all *free money* you wouldn't get w/o Blizzard running all the stuff to make it happen.
Of course, if you don't cash those out, and turn that back to buy things from the RMAH, you can add 15% back to those numbers, as only the $1 per item or 15% on commodities is taken on the sale. The other 15% and paypal's fees are only taken when you convert it to cash in your pocket.
So, I don't think they're nearly as greedy as some would say.
Also, using the AH is a CHOICE. If you *must have* that item right now, then I guess you'll have to trade or AH for it. But, you can also farm for it. It's all back to the old time vs money. You can farm it or you can buy it. Your choice, no one's holding a gun to your head. It's a *game*, so spend money on it or don't. Just don't come whining to me that someone 'forced you' to do something.

At OP your spelling is bad and you should feel bad.
Of course Blizzard has an agreement with Paypal, don't be naive.

It was obvious this is going to happen.
