Using mods like DarkerD3 or anything that modifies Diablo 3 in any way is against TOS and will get you banned.
I really hope in that case that Blizzard will update Diablo 3 quite often.
And then there's a 19 euro game coming soon that is being released with a full editor, called Torchlight 2...
EDIT:
I'm not complaining about D3 graphics... jeez people.
Graphic Modifications The games out in a few days. Realllllly need to know if we can use darkd3 without getting banned. using programs that alter graphics is against TOS and can get you banned. (Source)
to be honest i kind of like what i've been hearing out of blizz and runic about these two games lately. it would have been easy for the D3 team to point to torchlight's limitations, and visa versa w/ runic, especially with interviewers trying to drum up drama with leading questions, but instead they've been up front about how they're all going to play both games, and that there's plenty of room for both. It's honest, and IMO, accurate. Blizz doesn't want people screwing with their vision, and torchlight's been designed so you can change it to your heart's content. if you get the urge to mod, play some torchlight. i'm sure i'll grab it at some point once the mod community gets going, but it'll be a long time before something can pry me away from D3.
Preordered Torchlight 2 at the same time I preordered D3 CE. Gonna play both.
Also, fanboy warning.
So play Torchlight 2 and stop crying m8 about Diablo's graphics.Rly calling urself a fan?? -.-
Where exactly did you read that I complained about Diablo 3 graphics? I never did that, in fact, I'm one of those who like Diablo 3 graphics.
I wasn't even gonna use DarkerD3.
It's the "you will get banned if you use ANY mod" attitude that annoys me.
I don't see any reason to use mods. The game is perfectly fine as is.
You know, I've had Oblivion, Skyrim, Torchlight, etc., since they came about. I can't remember a single mod in any of them that was really worth my time.
Even the mods that every person claimed to be "amazing".
Skyrim is a console port.
It's also complete trash without mods. Bethesda releases half finished games that are very moddable and then an army of fanboys mod it and make it fun and a good game to play.
PC > console ports are almost always going to be good. Console > PC ports are in 95% cases trash.
Remember Fallout 3? The game was a absolute disgrace to players who were fans of Fallout 1 & 2. But the game was as moddable as Oblivion and then the old fans made it fun!
TL was fun about a week, then you played and cheated with mods for about a week, then you quit with a feeling of disappointment.
I cant imagine TL2 will be any better.
Beat it in a week.
Cheat for a week.
Figure there is no point and quit.
If you wanted to darken the screen, then I am sure you could do it without altering D3 files, thus not against the ToS. Though the odds you got banned for that are probably next to nil.

Except DarkerD3 doesn't do ANYTHING to your computer that Blizzard can detect. I'm sorry but that's just them giving a standard response to any mod question about D3. All it does it puts a dll file in the game directory that overrides that windows standard directX dll file. Nothing more.
This even works for WoW and various other games and I have yet to hear about anyone getting banned on WoW for using the ENBseries directx file.
Like people explained in forum threads about this already.

LOL, shows how much you know. Bethesda games in their vanilla state are next to unplayable (other than the first, quick playthrough).
Shows what I know? You mean that the games were trash with and without mods?
But this is an old, lost battle, anyway. ActiBlizz went to the 'dark side' and they're not coming back. The days of Eastern Sun and Median XL are, sadly, over.
Everyone who played D2 used maphack to brighten the game and remove the light radius crap anyways.
Literally everyone.
This proves 2 things.
#1 This was a legitimate cheat, though minor, and pretty much no one got banned for it.
#2 D2 constant darkness sucked ass, and most people didn't like it.

Maybe it's just me, but Fallout 1 & 2 are the games that I loved as much as Diablo, if not even more.
Then Bethesda bought the legal rights and said "don't worry fans, we won't create Oblivion with guns". Then suddenly they release the game and boom, it's exactly what it is! You couldn't even continue playing after you finished the game. That's why I'm sore.
Skyrim actually wasn't much better. They just ported the game from consoles, then after a while released "high res texture pack". Bethesda is another evil company.

There has been no confirmation that direct3d filters will get you banned, they might get you banned since they are technically against the TOS, but they don't alter any of the Diablo 3 files.

Don't spread false information.
It's not false information if there's a chance that you will get banned. People should know that it's not allowed and blue clearly states "it can get you banned" not "it might get you banned". There's a difference between "can" and "might".
I don't really care myself.
I'm complaining because no matter how beautiful game they create, players can always make it even more beautiful.
No NOT ALWAYS.
As example Skyrim. Awesome game without mods you can add mods which are awesome and improve gameplay, but bad mods/coder will ruin your game.
Errr... ignore and don't install the bad mods?

They're all garbage on the grand scope of things.

Shows you what hacks can come from just a simple "Directx" graphics mod.
DarkD3 is pointless, seeing as how Diablo III is dark as fuck to begin with.
You shouldn't compare a shit game like Torchlight II to Diablo III.

pretty much this IMO
