The countdown says US servers are opening in 5.5 hours, which is at 3:00 AM EST. Is that for everyone, or just the people on east cost.

ive seen spreadsheet and WD is the highest dps of the game because of his extreme ownage aoe spells.
but when it comes to single target its another story

So you saw spreadsheets for AoE, but no single target? Despite an AoE spreadsheet basically being much more complicated... I mean you would have to input a # of mobs in an area just to get a result, and that's basically just pulling #s out of your ass unless you did it for every skill combination in every radius.

There was a blue comment awhile back that CC's work even on bosses to a lesser extent, with the exception of a few.

I am assuming it means that it does the normal effect, and also launches long range knives that deal 70% weapon dmg to 5 Additional targets.

Sentry and MfD(with maybe the exception of mortal enemy) are more group oriented skills

I tend to always want to put grenades + grenadier if I use cluster arrow in a build.

I don't particularly like Fire support because the rockets aren't affected by attack speed.
If I was going to use it, then I would definitely use a slow 2h Xbow.

I feel you need another defensive disc skill.

    pick your 4 favorite skills

those last 2 spots? nothing is better than pets. you already have your best damage spells, and pets do *some* damage, so already they have a dps advantage over everything else that would be doing nothing most of the time. pets are 'always on' defense. no other spell matches that.

no matter what 4 spells you pick or what passives you choose, those 2 spots are for pets if you want the better build. i might play a petless WD at some point just for the fun of it, but i'm going to do so understanding it's significantly worse.

Are you trolling? I can agree to the point that a pet or several is good because it is constantly on and that's one or two less skills you have to worry about. The dogs just aren't that damaging, some here on this forum even called them useless. They are a good distraction but hardly more than that. The garg is on the other hand the better choice imo.

You can't just state that a build without pets is going to be weaker. It's all in the building of the build and the gear obviously. A WD with maybe 3 highly damaging skills and maybe 3 CC skills is going to be good imo.

He isn't trolling. I agree completely; those last 2 skill slots should be reserved for pets.

RoF is awesome, but how long do you think you will be able to ''spam'' it while you stay put in inferno befoer the mobs tear you a new 1?
When you calculate dps you need to obviously consider it in a fight, not on a dummy.

If single target = VS boss, the boss wont stay put while u rof his face.
If AoE = Hit and run/cc while being able to mantain as much aoe dps as u can.

Also you must consider a proper build that will work in game not just stack random offensive abilities ala dummy dps again.
If you do consider all of the above you will realize , once again, why the wizard DPS sucks compared to the rest of the classes.
I am not disagreeing with that. Obviously you won't be able to just stand there and cast RoF, and even if you could it wouldn't be instant win.

I was essentially saying that wizards dps is going to suck til they get the proper gear setup. After that they still won't be top though, but at least competitive. There is going to be a night and day difference with a wizard who is geared right, and one who isn't imo.

Gems can be found up to tier 8, which is a Flawless Square.

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/gem/

So, it would take 2187 Flawless Squares to make a Radiant Star. I think... I'm bad at math.
Where did you see this at? Was it in the Brady guide?

The reason why people see wizard as weak dps wise is because her signature spells are much weaker then other classes free/generator skills. So when the wizard enters an downtime his/her DPS falls really bad.

With the informations we have wizard will have to play signatureless builds or will suck. Signature spells are waaay to weak to be played around.

I agree. That is the only way I can see a wizard being played later in game.

    Stack +% Crit
    Stack +AP on Crit

According to the guide the max is +10 per item or +30 AP on Crit, and the max crit% is over 100%.
With a very high crit%, and high +AP on crit you can pretty much ignore signatures if you want. Though if you are dropping heavy hitters, like comets, then you will still probably need a signature, but at least you wouldn't need to spam a signature for ten seconds.

The real problem I think will be building up to that point.
Playing the beta on wizard was kind of disheartening at the end. You spammed Magic Missile for like 10 seconds, casted 3 orbs, then 10 seconds of Magic Missile again. Bleh....Yah I know RoF, but I don't like RoF, and I don't think RoF should be a required spell to a wizard.

    PS:
Bleach sucks. The story starts off great, and progressively gets worse and worse at an exponential rate. At this point the story has so many plot holes its beyond swiss cheese, its empty space.
