This was mentioned in a blue post a while back but i've not heard anything since.
Someone posted about adding a Feat of Strength for completing the game on Hardcore mode before Softcore, and a blue posted saying something along the lines of that they liked the idea and would let us know before the release.
Did they post something about it and I missed it? or still nothing?
I remember the post you are referencing, but I haven't read anything else regarding this, and I check the blue tracker multiple times a day, every day. Have you tried posting your question directly on the battle.net forums?

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.

I can't post on the blizzard forums with this account and while my friend has given me use of his account for beta whenever I want, I doubt he wants me using it for forums etc etc.
He means completing inferno, not just normal mode.
And to start a hardcore character you only need to play to level 10 once with a softcore character.
Actually I just meant nomal mode because as you said you only need to be level 10 to start a hardcore character.
However thats another topic that a blue would need to discuss as I don't know if it was just normal or all the way through inferno aswell.
The change to when Hardcore is unlocked is a change that, unless it is changed between now and release, will be the case in retail Diablo III (source).
achievements should always be possible to get no mather what you do you can never screw em up or they are designed badly.
feat of strenght, on the other hand can be crazy things like completing hardcore before softcore. or beat the game the first time without rune effects. the only problem with it is that we need to know about em in advance.

I doubt, they will put in achievements for stuff, you can actually screw up. If they add an achievement for finishing the game on hardcore before finishing it on normal, you won't be able to get the achievement ever, once you finished the game with a normal character. I expect all of the achievements to be "achieveable" at any time (and be it by purchasing the CE, which will give you an achievement for sure).

That's why whoever asked the Blue the question, phrased it as a 'Feat of strength', which if you know about Blizzard achievements means it's a 'really hard, if not impossible to get' achievement that doesn't reward any achievement points and has it's own category.
They most defiantly give out FoS's that are impossible to get after awhile. I've got two (Blizzcon 2010 and 2011) that only a certain number of people can get worldwide, forever, as there were only so many game redemption codes at Blizzcon.

Not quite. Feats of Strength are generally given for something unique like, as you said, Blizzcon attendances or Collectors Edition vanity pets. Feats of strength are also granted when they remove particular content that did have achievements associated with it (eg weapon skills, items from seasonal events or anniversary days).
They are not really hard to get, they are achievements for things that Blizzard realize will not be able to be achieved by all players for various different reasons (limited Blizzcon tickets, limited CEs and so forth)
In celebration of a successful beta test, all players who were invited to participate in the Diablo III closed beta will receive the commemorative Feat of Strength, "One of the Chosen." For eligible players, this feat will appear automatically in the Feat of Strength list after logging in for the first time as well as unlock a unique sigil that can be used on character banners.
In order to be eligible for "One of the Chosen," you must have had a Diablo III closed beta license attached to your Battle.net account (it isn't necessary to have downloaded or logged into the beta itself). Please note that players who participated only in the Open Beta Weekend, but were not invited to the closed beta, will not receive this Feat of Strength.
I'm confused why you would necro this post, and with something that's completely not what the OP was talking about.
