The man laughed, his voice strangely musical. “On the contrary, it is entirely natural!
Life does not simply give in to death, and the soul is more than some abstract idea. These
spirits merely walk their own path, most unaware of any others around them. But there
are some, particularly in the forces of Hell, who would raise the dead, animating them so
that they do not hold a spirit, but are merely an automaton. I think that is what you speak
of.”
Siggard shook his head. “I do not know if I should be terrified or awed by what you
say.”
The stranger lowered his hood, revealing eyes sparkling with life and a long mane of
blond hair. “I think both would be appropriate. There are more things in Heaven and Hell
than any mortal man could dream.”
“And how would you know all of this?” Siggard asked.
The man shrugged. “I am a wanderer; I have seen more than most would ever imagine.
That is merely my nature.”
“Will you give me your name?” Siggard said.
The stranger nodded. “My name is Tyrael. May I ask your name?”
“Siggard.”
Tyrael smiled. “Your trust does you credit, but be careful with whom you place it. I am
safe, a traveler sworn to the light. But there are others who are sworn to darkness, and
they do not reveal themselves unless they are forced to.”
Tyrael leaned forward. “Tell me, friend Siggard, what brings you onto this road on this
of all nights?”
This was taken from the E-book version of Demonsbane, i'm only on the 7th page but what the hell, I thought i'd just share this to you all. Whether this is Tyrael or not is still a mystery.
Demonsbane might not be canon with all the lore developments weve had since its release. At least not entirely canon.

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
Not sure on the canonisity (is that word?), err let me rephrase, I am not sure how canonically correct the novels part of the Sin War Trilogy are. Most are side stories, and should be treated as thus.
However they do offer insights not present in the games. But unless otherwise stated, you would not be wrong to distrust their information.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I don't think angels have a face. In the Sin War Knaak describes Inarius, Tyrael's brother, as a harmonic resonance saying that there isn't a visage under his hood.
It seems that angels are actually beings made of pure light.
Btw, Inarius has blond hair as well when disguised as the Prophet.
Its a fantasy game, everything doesnt need to make sense ^^.

It could be someone impersonating Tyrael like Baal did.

It could be someone impersonating Tyrael like Baal did.
Or Tyrael impersonating someone with a face.
"Tyrael, yes, now I recognize you! I should have known you would travel in disguise."
If Marius assumes Tyrael would take a different form when traveling, then he is probably capable of it.

---- And the evil that was once vanquished shall rise anew! ----
I don't think he is corporeal, he can change and shift his form at mortals see it as he sees fit, if he wants to be black he can be, if he wants sparkling eyes and long blonde hair he'll have if, but I think his default state is the one we see in Diablo II where he seems kind of like a living shadow.

Don't try to be a great man, just be a man... and let history make its own judgment. -Zefram Cochrane, Star Trek
Baal did not disquise himself as Tyreal, Marius was just insane and saw a hooded man and pictured it as tyreal, baal never mentioned who he was until the end.

They never unveil his visage anyways.
