So I noticed this morning that they added Seismic Slam to the list of videos "skills" they are showing on the community site. I unlocked this skill in beta, and was assuming everyone else did too. That being said i didnt expect them to show this skill off on the community site if its already out there in play. The main reason i was confused about this is that i didnt see it listed in the patch 14 update notes. Ok so here it comes ...did everyone in beta unlock Seismic Slam?
Yep, wizard got some windy looking offensive shield looking thing and Monk got the ability where he swings his bo staff around like a propeller and runs through mobs.
Although, we now have these skills in the beta it does not mean they cannot have a video of it. I assume there are no rules that saids "You cannot post skill video up if the beta players have already acquired them." Anyways, yes I have the skill "Seismic Slam" too and it makes me gaiety to use it on a pack of demons.
Yea, i have it too. It's awesome, way better than hammer of the ancients. I was stoked when i got it, was glad they opened up some new skills at lower level. Most classes got new skills in 14 we didn't have before. I noticed the previous lvl 13 i had has different skills than my new one.

It was just an observation of mine. Previously they when they first posted the videos up, it was of skills we hadnt seen yet. That, plus i know there Non Beta people wanting to see the moves. I just didnt know if it could of possible been a bug like the "beyond the gate" bug... that is all
It's just of such limited use in the beta. Knockback in the beta, especially for a barbarian is kinda irritating. I'm enjoying revenge and ground slam, myself. Ground slam->rend->cleave->revenge when available is very nice.

Playing the monk, knockback ticks me off especially with lashing tail kick. Not having much fun with the Monk as I thought, patch 13 was fun, but I am not 13 yet might change then. The Barb is definitely going to be awesome to play to 60.
I'm currently using Wave of Light, and to be honest, it's a huge resource drain and it doesn't do much. If the mobs aren't in a straight line, it'll kill 1 or 2 and the rest will survive. Cyclone strike was better, and I didn't care much for that either.
I like seismic slam but I don't like how it makes hammer of the ancients obsolete. I was hoping for more build choices and less superior skills.
All depends if you like knockback or not, I guess. I like ground stomp and rend. Knockback for a melee class seems weird to me. HOTA is a decent ability. Its how you like to play, really.
For the original topic: They put videos up of skills we already had even in the last batch. Seismic Slam is indeed unlockable in the beta and it is one of my favorite skills along with Revenge.

It is a huge drain, but many of the monk skills are. When I first got Wave of Light i hated it because of the low damage it does in a line. However, after playing with it, I found it could be very useful, but you have to use your maneuverability to place it right.
The ability has the potential to do 300% WD to a small group of enemies right in front of you. 150% for the bell dropping, then those mobs take another 150% when the bell is hit, then you get the shockwave in a line that has a pretty good range and width to it.
Alot of the monk's abilities have to be planned. He's more about maneuverability and controlling the flow of combat rather than putting out huge hits like the barbarian. It's the difference between finesse and power.
The monk is the next class I'll be uploading, hopefully I did it justice and explained my thoughts on it, it's was hard for me to really put into words. The class works well, but it definitely caters to specific play styles.
Not sure if WD or DH got anything new to try out.
Deff my favorite Barb skill thus far....

It's not better in all regards. Hammer of the Ancients doesn't have the AoE or knockback, but it hits harder and has the increased crit chance.
