When you use quotation marks, you're supposed to quote someone. When you quote someone, don't twist and change the words. Don't think anyone would appreciate that. A demo is not a trial by miles.
Exactly. ^ I'm sure after release they will have a level cap and area cap you can play for free (like their other games) but it won't be out before release I presume. Hell it might just be up to the SK like the beta is. And that quote is months ago.
A trial sounds like something that will be released after det game and hence for all of us irrelevant.
A demo would be cool though. Too bad they prolly won't do that
Bash referred to both WoW and SC which never had anything like what the OP seems to be getting excited about. Whatever they do it's going to be same day or post-release. The most any of us is going to see of Diablo is right here, right now (and whatever patches bring to beta before launch).

This.
Those "demo" or "trials" as the D3 system suggests, is just full access for a limited amount of time and up to (maybe) a certain point in the game. It would be completely illogical for the demo to be separate since everything is server based, so this is how its going to be.
Bashiok did say there was a strong possibility of a demo after release
We'll probably make a trial edition at some point. It's sort of a demo I suppose, but it's a bit better because it's essentially the full game just with locks put on certain areas. So you'd be able to jump into multiplayer games with your friends, but maybe you wouldn't be able to play beyond a certain place and wouldn't have access to all the game systems (certainly not auction houses) but if you choose to buy the game all that stuff just unlocks.

beta is for testing to help them balance the game before release.
trial version is like a demo of the game after its been released to try to get more sales...
I had quotes around that, I swear =P
