This is for general builds. If you're running CMWW builds, you will have to keep track of your APS. Both Lacuni and Inna's can have 8 or 9 IAS. You'll have to juggle your IAS stats around your gear to see what works for you. Some channeling builds don't like IAS at all, so again you'll have to find out where you want to allocate your IAS stats.
- Lacuni can roll up to 253 base armor
- Rare crafted bracers come with 220 base armor
- All ilvl 63 bracers can roll up to +265 bonus armor
- All ilvl 63 pants can roll up to 457 base armor and +397 bonus armor
1. Lacuni + Inna's Pros:
- Highest possible DPS combo (200 int, 9/6 Lacuni + 100 int Inna's)
Cons:
- Wasted movement speed if you already run MS on boots (almost always)
- Horrible EHP unless you get double vitality Inna's or up to 100 vit + 80 AR Lacuni, but that will cost you in terms of DPS
2. Lacuni + Depth Diggers Pros:
- High DPS potential, but never as high as perfect Lacuni + Inna's
- Decent mitigation from the innate AR on Depth Diggers
- Can roll 300 int, 100 vit, 2 sockets or 300 int, 300 vit (no sockets) on Depth Diggers
Cons:
- Must have MS on boots if 24% MS is important for you
- EHP isn't all that great unless you roll EHP on Lacuni, but again that will cost you DPS
3. Lacuni + Rare Pants Pros:
- Great balance if you focus all your DPS on Lacuni and get int+EHP on pants (up to 200 int, 300 vit, 854 total armor, 80 AR, 2 sockets)
Cons:
- Difficult to manage because of the rarity of max DPS Lacuni and balanced DPS+EHP rare pants
- Must have MS on boots if 24% MS is important for you
4. Lacuni + Blackthorne's Jousting Mail Pros:
- Great balance if you focus all your DPS on Lacuni and get EHP on pants. Different combinations are viable for BT pants:
Up to 200 int, 200 vit, 80 AR, with 100 dex, 100 strength (for total 557 armor), and 12% life
Up to 200 int, 400 vit, 100 dex, 100 strength (total 557 armor), and 12% life
Up to 100 int, 100 vit, 80 AR, 100 dex, 100 strength + armor roll (for total 954 armor), and 12% life
Up to 100 int, 300 vit, 100 dex, 100 strength (total 557 armor), 12% life, and 2 sockets
etc.
- Mitigation will not be as good as Lacuni + rare pants, but much more base HP
- Great BT pants are generally cheaper than high vit+AR+armor rare pants
Cons:
- Difficult to manage because of the rarity of max DPS Lacuni and perfect EHP BT pants
- Must have MS on boots if 24% MS is important for you
5. Rare Bracers + Inna's Pros:
- Great balance in terms of DPS and EHP (up to 100 int, 100 vit on Inna's; up to 330 int, 200 vit, 80 AR, 485 total armor, 6 cc on bracers)
- Inna's is flexible - can get up to 100/100 version, or up to 200 vit version, or 80 AR version for mitigation.
Cons:
- Incredibly difficult to craft the best rare bracers
- Perfect 100/100 Inna's are very expensive
- Must have MS on boots if 24% MS is important for you
...
You can definitely put a lot more thought into what you want to go with. I have a high DPS Lacuni + high int/vit/sockets Depth Diggers at the moment.
I also have 100 strength (555 total armor), 94 dex, 100 int, 296 vit, 12% life, 2 socket BT pants (currently on my WD). And I also have 94/94 9 IAS Inna's in my stash.
From personal experience, I actually prefer my current Lacuni + Depth Diggers combo. It's about +1K DPS and +30K EHP more than my Inna's + rare bracers combo (290+ int, 70 AR, 350+ total armor, 6 cc). If I can roll the same bracers with high vitality, I'd probably go with Inna's + rare bracers. The Lacuni + BT combo was nice, but the mitigation and DPS wasn't quite there. Life was huge, though.
Go discuss. Plenty of choices depending on your needs.
Yeah, I decided to put this up just because. Some new people can make use of this and it does get you thinking what route you can take. Options are nice.
I can speak about my experience on my DH. At first i was a fan of Lacuni plus Depth Diggers, but i was never really happy with EHP on bracers since i had a 70 dex / 70 int with 5.5 CC on them. I forced a good Rare bracer with craft and i got myself Inna's Temperance, so i could get a bit more of crit too. I always think i'm short on crit <.<'
Well, at least we still have some choices in some slots
IMO the main issue with high dps lacuni is the price, which is why I prefer inna's+rare bracers. High dps Inna's is very inexpensive until you start adding vit.
Of course it partly depends on your luck with crafting bracers.

Same. DPS wise, it takes a 150+main stat/6cc roll lacunis to match a 300 main stat/6cc rare bracers in most cases. 150_mainstat/vit/6cc lacunis are insanely expensive. It's not too hard to roll a 280+stat/6cc/vit or AR bracers if you craft enough. I prefer the crafted bracrs+ innas in most cases unless you need the attack speed. Not to mention crafted bracers result in higher EHP.
^ I don't know, I have a Tyrael's with zero-socket, 179 int + 199 vit, and I think it's pretty good. 14% damage to demons, though.
EDIT: 12% damage to demons, not 14%. I just put it on my alt so you guys can see.
The way I see it, if it doesnt roll 3 sockets, you're basically losing 186 main stat which basically negates the damage to demon bonus you're getting. Most classes gain some kind of set bonus from using a class specific set chest, so losing that as well for tyrael's isn't worth it if you're also losing the 3 sockets.

That's a valid point of view. You're thinking the plate as a full-dps-oriented slot, in this case, am I right ? If so, I agree with both you and Jaetch's, Tyrael's is a niche item, blue (did I mention this before ?) and can be used as a full-dps item. So arguments here, just different points-of-view or use of a item.
I've always been for rare bracer + innas myself, just because the all res on bracer is easy to come by with 6cc/int/vit. Unless I need a breakpoint I don't usually go for Lacuni.
My current rare bracer I'm not very happy with, and although I have over 300 essences stockpiled right now I don't want to use them, even though I am really close to 400k DPS // 500k EHP and it could put me over that goal.

Maybe as inspiration, but I was running with some peeps yesterday and one of them crafted 3,000 gloves (I think that's what she said? O_O) with absolutely no luck. Gave up for a significant period of time and crafted a couple hundred more before she got a pair with 250+ intelligence, vitality, 8 IAS, 48 CD, 10 CC.
Just keep on craftin’… I’m doing that right now with gloves. Going on a mere 600 now.

If it wasn't for RoS I probably would go for it! But, I'm just worried they will become obsolete with the expansion
I don't have life steal on my weapon (only blood magic) so a bit more health is more important for me I find.
I will keep with number 4 option (lucuni + BT - with high vit roll and double socket)
Would go for the higher DPS options if i get a life steal weapon...but I don't plan on it

Same here. I'm stock piling all DEs until RoS.
