How do you plan to deal with the upcoming Attack Speed nerf? From what I've read most people plan on doing one of three things:
(1) Completely disregard Attack Speed and stack as much Crit Chance/Crit Damage as possible.
(2) Achieve a healthy medium/balance between Attack Speed/Dex/Crit Chance/Crit Damage (much like what most people do now but with less AS obviously); basically, have some Attack Speed but don't go overboard with it.
(3) Try to get Attack Speed on every possible item slot to make up for the reduced AS values.
From what I've read, most people going the #2 and #3 route are planning on getting a 2H Bow instead of a 2H XBow to help make up for the nerf. Obviously each option has its advantages and disadvantages. What do you plan on doing to deal with the patch?
Or.. you know.. just use the piece that gives the most dps? Exactly the same as before. But, personally I'm going to do none of those. With the increased repair bills I'm either going to go for extra survival and if that doesn't help with getting insta-gibbed I'll probably just reroll.
Putting aside my IAS gear not selling it as Blizz has a reputation of bad knee jerk reactions then going back on that reaction after seeing the aftermath. Started to gather up crit hit gear, and crit dmg gear, not gonna bother with stacking vit because its pointless.
Going for more survivability doesn't seem a likely route for DHs. I prefer to see them glass cannons. I believe someone already try to go the tanky route, stacking vit/res up a ridiculous amount, only to find that you still get pretty much one shotted. The only noticable difference is that you don't do jack shit in terms of damage, rendering it totally useless. We've been given smokescreen for a reason!
Nam'sayin?!
Except for the fact that Inferno is going to be nerfed during the same patch that nerfs attack speed. In other words, your argument may no longer apply.
+400% crit dmg, +40% crit. Going for at least 2 set Natalya's (boots/chest instead of boj's/beckon). Probably keeping Andariel's (socket, 121 dex, 3% crit and will still hold ~6% IAS after nerf). Gonna attempt for gloves with all 3 stats, and rings with all 3 stats (or at the very least, 2 stats).
Currently at 30% crit (will get 7% from 2set Natalya's), 368% Crit dmg. Don't have crit dmg on either of my rings yet, and only have dex/dmg/IAS on one ring, dex/crit dmg on my neck, so goals should be overcomeable.

That does not need to be the case. You can get a healthy amount of vit/res (600-ish) with a decent amount of DPS. You then still play like a glass cannon but enjoy the benefit of not getting one-shot by everything. Try it out!
Of course, you need more gold investment, but just be patient and treat it as the end goal to all the farming.
With regards to attack speed, I have enough crit gears to make up for the lack of DPS, but the thing that worries me is that the game might be less fun firing weapons that shoot soooooo slow.
I'm also considering alternate farming between Act 2 and Act 3 with the new loot drop rate. I can clear Act 2 (Kulle -> Belial) in about 15-20 mins now thanks to the vit/res (take that invisible snake suckers!). Might be worth it to make the grind a little more bearable.

And vit + resist all
Same as i always have done since i rolled a DH - along with as much dex as i can get.
50kdps without ss atm, 28k hp - 1.96 ias, 400 resist all atm
Nothing about the AS change will affect glass cannon viability.
