Disclaimer: Yeah, I know the skills are gonna be all changed around for PvP. Don't care. I'm having fun theorycrafting so don't poop on my parade kthx.
Slow, 2-H weap. Basically this is a distance-closing, CC-heavy, NUKE/WIN build. I really like the idea of taking ALL distance closing abilities, and the fact that they all GIVE me fury. The fact that people will constantly blink/roll/teleport away from me is great! Just means more fury for me, less resource for them.. And I have weapon throw which has no cooldown!
I especially love the idea of taking the Relentless passive (below 20% health, all skills cost no fury, incoming damage reduced by 50%), and coupling it with weapon throw runed for damage. Basically once I hit 20% health I can just spam weapon throw. Wizards will get me down to 20% then be like SPLAT/WUT?
Yes, it's pretty soft in the defense department, but I plan to gear/gem/enchant for a massive health pool and high resistances.
Let me know what you think.
Edit: I changed the Ground Stomp rune to Golden, so I immediately will have 58 rage, which will give me (roughly) 3 of my primary attacks: HotA or WT.
A basic rotation would be like this:
1. Leap attack (15Fury), 3 sec stun 2. Ground Stomp (58Fury), 3 sec stun 3. White Damage (60+ Fury) 4. Hammer of the Ancients (40+ Fury)
>> Enemy might escape/evade at this point 5a. If no evade, Hammer of the Ancients (20+ Fury) 5b. If evade, Weapon Throw (20+ Fury)
>> Enemy will definitely evade here 6. Furious Charge (35+ Fury)
>> I will start taking damage, getting CC'd here 7. HotA/WT depending on enemy position (15+ Fury) 8. Ancient Spear (30+ Fury) 9. Ground Stomp (73+ Fury) 10. Weapon Throw x4
I could see most encounters going like that up until about step 6.. then it's all situational. But the deeper you can think into hypothetical encounters, the more prepared you'll be when those hypotheticals become reality.

It's like you say. We won't know exactly how to build our characters until we have a means of actually testing the strengths and weaknesses the builds in action, and tweak them, but it won't kill anybody to start theorycrafting now rather than later, plus it's fun. Here are my pvp build contributions:
Scorpion http://us.battle.net...gYfW!Vgb!acaZZZ
Offensive version of SubZero (ancient spear/weapon throw)
i rlly like the change they made - allowing u to change ur skills any minute (probably wont be avaible in pvp just pvm) it will allow u to test many builds without the need of resetting/making new char
I agree! It completely does away with the need to grind through old content with new characters just to try something new. There are only 2 other ways to really do it..
1. Fresh chars. That would mean getting powerleveled by a friend, because the SAME content WILL get boring.
2. Paid respecs. The whole point of respecs is to SPECialize in something else. Why make this process so sacred? People will gravitate towards what they like. Those few who really want each char to have a unique build that does not change can still do that by choosing not to swap out skills.

Hrm. I thought there would be problems with this at first, especially the lack of defensive passives, but I think I see what you're doing here.
The kill bonuses from No Escape seem to make it a waste of a passive, but if you plan on spamming runed Throw, it might work. I'd recommend Juggernaut, but perhaps you think with Charge/Spear/Leap plus hopefully very high uptime on the slow effect from Throw, you can get right back in and heal up with a runed Spear. Planning on getting below 20% for Relentless sounds reckless, but that seems to be what you're going for... control and kill quickly before they can get you.
My concern would be Fury... but the runed Stomp could be a lifesaver there.
I think if you can manage the control you're shooting for, it will be a nice win.

I'm really not worried at all about getting CC'd with this build, because of WT plus all the instant distance closers. We'll have to see how the rock/paper/scissors pans out with that tho.
Planning on getting below 20% for Relentless sounds reckless, but that seems to be what you're going for... control and kill quickly before they can get you.
Yeah basically I can chip away at people until I get to 20%.. but I predict that most of the ranged classes are gonna do a ton of deeps up front then peter out their resources. If I get down to 20% at that time, and my def goes thru the roof, AND they need to re-up their resources... AND I GET FREE SPAM WEAPON THROW... at 500% weapon damage? gib. seriously gib. It's kind of a bait-and-switch, they'll never expect it.
My concern would be Fury... but the runed Stomp could be a lifesaver there.
The deal with fury is, as with any melee class in PvP, I'm gonna be spending a lotta time closing distance, and not a lot of time actually attacking. Which is a good thing, because I'm building fury with each distance closer in my rotation. I can close distance appx every 3.33 seconds (a little less, actually), each time building fury and often CC'ing. I'm not worried abt fury gen, esp with ground stomp as you mention.
I think if you can manage the control you're shooting for, it will be a nice win.
That's the thing. Right now all I can do is mainly consider offense and assume what defense gaps I have to fill. If I can control a fight with the CC/distance closers, it'll be potent as fack. If not, I'll just get rolled. But I'm excited to find out in any case.
I do have a feeling they'll nerf the crap outta Relentless for PvP.

Any pvp build skipping Juggernaut is instantly dismissed.
Anything said by you is instantly dismissed. GTFO.
You can't dismiss what i said, its a fact.
Oh sweet jesus. You are incomprehensibly annoying. It's not a fact, and here's why:
First reason this build shouldn't have Juggernaut: I don't care if I get snared because I have weapon throw, and can close distance instantly when the snare pops. 20% reduction on duration is hardly game breaking.
Second, and more important reason this build shouldn't have Juggernaut: I don't want to have little/no control over my health regeneration, because (situationally) I want to remain below 20% health so I can spam weapon throw.
Is that explanation adequate for you honey, or are you gonna troll some more?

All this convo is trivial... why would any gg player share their build? Juggernaut will be game breaking most assuredly. The 15% total health gain during those crucial moments where you can be slammed, is by far more beneficial than any other trait available for pvp.

Any half-brained Wizard notices you attempt this will laugh his ass off.

I laugh, so hard, at your attempt to defend a build based off being 20%, or below, hp in order to be effective and score a kill on anyone.

Maybe I'm just speaking from a hardcore point of view. No decent hardcore player is going to just wing it and play the lottery, close their eyes, spam one button, and pray for a kill. Maybe these throw builds will work on softcore for some 1 hit wonder kills... but I'm willing to bet that it will not fly vs HC players.
After reading some of these posts it makes me less willing to share my builds -_-.
Also, I'd love to know what a "gg player" is. A gladiator, Grand Marshal, Master league? Good Guy? Goofy guy? To me he sounds like the same kind of jerkoff that is far too common in this world, and really don't want to hang around with.
How can you base your play off of a kill with ONLY 1 skill spam and hardly any hp remaining? 1 stun and you will be roast like Thanksgiving Turkey.
Oh for chrissakes. I'm not basing it all off 1 skill below 20%. I'm even MORE potent when I can stunlock people and HotA AND WT. It's just a nice bonus, if I DO get below 20%, to be able to quickly crush people and force them to retreat or pop cooldowns.
My best friend buddy who's only trying to help me is the one who falsely assumed the whole build is centered around getting below 20%.
You and your friend obviously didn't read the post, look at the rotation, or even look at the build closely. And for that, I spank you.

You know this is for pvp right? The throw costs 20 rage and hits for some ridiculous 560%+ damage while laying down a 70% snare. It's an excellent rage dump assuming it hits (we haven't seen 50%+ of the skills in action yet).
I like how you negative ppl completely ignored my builds O.o :)?

The idea is, the wizard is DEAD by the time he notices it. That quick dps mechanic is critical. If that doesn't work, the build doesn't work.
