WW got a pretty interesting change in 2.4.3. Dust Devils damage was greatly nerfed, but all Whirlwind damage is now increased by 800%. So the emphasis is kind of on a single target more now, instead of massive AOE damage.
WW is my favorite barb build and i wanted to create a solid video guide ages ago. In fact i did the written guide last season but was always busy and postponed video guide on an on. But no more... RISE BARBS! HERE WE GO! SPIN 2 WIN! :DDD
There were crazy amounts of people involved in PTR testing of WW set, tonns of feedback too on battle.net forums. Let's hope WW will be truly strong one day!
PS: Build is well known to many oldschool players out there, but may be useful to all the rest i guess
PPS: I also have Speedfarming build for WW as well since 2.4.1 and it's completely unchanged:
I have to play mostly solo, even those 65-75 GRs, bcs in group the ww dmg is just not enuf.
As about leaderboards, also happy ww is there, but maaan, what a squishy build it is.
I can easily go 80+ but impossible w/o pain enhancer, CoE and density combined w good affixes elites.
The rest is paragon stuff as always
Replace the COE with BOM if you don't have the necessity secondary freeze/stun roll for APD. Also, kite a bit when dealing with bad affixes. 40% of the damage came from Dust Devils that spawn trailing your character. It's perfectly legit to lead bad elite to death.
Not using APD as nobody at leaderboard using it neither, Im right now on GR83 cleared w few missing caldesanns, so what I need is dmg boost and good density, and I can always end up clearing biggers GRs with nemesis (providing better density) then w APD (I cant see any superbig benefit even w freeze on belt + stun on gloves). COE is a must, BOM is for HC
I agree. APD will be BIS. So far, as for me, I still need super density and help of pylons to be able to progress, bcs I will never have 1500+ PL for going 90+ anyway. Not that paragon lunatic So right now neme is my "BIS".
a sorry lightning rune this is why I said, lightning swords wrong choice of words I guess. Problem with istvan is healing but not in the grift vs elites or trash but the boss. Some GRs hit very hard and that is when you can feel the lower healing when compared with the healing rune from ww.
A Strange thing that I have never seen once players saying that Battle Rage Bloodshed is actually Unusable. Yes is very powerfull but what good does it do when you meet the craziest density and you can't actually use it because it creates so much lag that even pausing game every 0.5 seconds doesn't work anymore. On Eu players started on softcore (using bulkatos) to swap Bloodsheed with Into the fray because of the lag.
Taking this into consideration id say that Istvan lightning build is above Bulkatos or Istvan physical build, but who know maybe some players don't have this insane lag.
