i think he was teasing us with a basically meaningless update.
but it's probably something they will include in the patch, and more stash room is always welcome.
really i don't really care about the stash size (since you can make unlimited mules..)
but it's still nice to have any "breadcrumbs" of info

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

That being said, bashiok did mention IT COULD BE REMOVED AT ANY STAGE DURING TESTING.
With an increased stash being planned it possibly also removes any chance of shared stash/mail-between-characters type systems.
