Before I get snapped at, I don't care how people play the game. Do your normal split runs, do your cursed chest farming, do whatever your heart desires.
But DON'T actually do exploits in the game to get INSANE amounts of xp.
Seriously if ladders ever come I hope they fix all these exploits...ugh its just going to ruin the whole meaning of ladders/leader-boards.
Exploits like those that ive seen the past few days is what will break any ladder system, so hope they get fixed. If some remain when we have ladder that those who exploit those get their character reverted to lvl 1 or made non-ladder.
I imagine they'll get fixed quickly in a ladder. Blizzard will very clearly be able to see on the ladder stats if somebody is doing billions upon billions of xp per hour, magnitudes greater than somebody playing 'normally,' and will be able to simply check in on that player to see wtf they are doing, and can take pretty direct action following that.
I'm not too worried about it breaking the ladders.
Ladders are never going to be exploit free. Some will be fixed but others will be found and exploited. The only people that will win are these people or the people that play at least 6 hours a day if not more.
Short races or competition could be more competitive but I do not think they would be that much fun, at least for. I do not even care for ladders and hope it is not implemented. I know they have plans for it but I just do not think it will be fun and be just as bad as it was in D2 if not worse.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.

I personally believe that's why we didn't get ladders at release or close after release; They are watching for exploits to arise. Hell, we just got a pretty big XP exploit posted on the front page, which will probably be soon fixed.
And the argument of 'let players play how they want, it doesn't effect you' will soon be moot as soon as ladders and challenges come, because we will be in a direct competition with other players for (just guessing here since details aren't 100%) highest Plvl, and leaderboards for different challenges.

It's a good thing exploits are being discovered / publicized right now, rather then when the ladders come out. Blizzard is doinga good job at Fixing all the nicks and crannies before getting down to the serious stuff.
The ladder worked fine in D2 and the game was full of exploits, duped items, bots and other bad things.
By the way i do hope that they won't spend too much time fixing exploits and stuff like that and dedicate their time to do something better. New content.
You do know that D2 survived with basically no "new content" outside of ladders and ubers.
So by your logic about dupes and bots, the D3 team clearly doesn't need to work on new content.
- No advantage to playing Ladder (Ladder-exclusive stuff in D2, but that might come aswell and turn out to be a big incentive)
They've specifically said that there will be ladder-only legendaries, so that's the advantage right there. Here's hoping they're pretty crazy and innovative as far as legendaries go.
Hopefully more like intentionally crazy; SoH's problem was it proccing 2x as much just by being in your OH, essentially. I'm thinking crazy more like... Lut Socks+Earthquake leaps, that sort of thing. Game changers, not just more damage.
Crazy stuff like the most powerful D2 ladder-only Runewords could bring to the table. Talking things like 'duplicates all of your pets' or 'drops a Fist of the Heavens on your Smite target' or something ridiculous like that. Whatever lunacy Blizzard could bring to the table with a very rare, ladder-only legendary.

It swings both ways.
