So I was bored waiting for 2.0.1 to go live and started clicking around. I noticed in cinematic endgame for act5 was available. I click it and the endgame cinematic started playing. Anyone else getting this?
I just checked and I can watch "Malthael's Endgame", but that's not the actual ending cinematic, it looks like the other hand drawn ones that you watch after completing a major quest, and I'm guessing that one is the one you watch right before starting act 5.
Unless of course you're talking about a different one.
Yes! I got it. However "Malthael's Endgame" is not the outro (ending) cinematic. As I checked the latest datamined files, the only CGI cinematic for Reaper of Souls is the intro which we have seen for a long time. The rest would look similar to the "Malthael's Endgame" clip. Even the outro cinematic for Reaper of Souls will be short and completely in sketching style not CGI. Therefore, if anyone expect to see new CGI cut scene other than the intro cinematic, they would surely be disappointed.

Okay, you missed the point. The outro you showed me is for Diablo 3 vanilla. The outro that I'm talking about is for Reaper of Souls. The outro cinematic for Reaper of Souls will look similar to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCr5Oq_DF74. This video leaked a while ago but the final version still looks the same. In fact, there're 12 versions of outro depending on what class and the gender you play.
There will probably be a CG outro too, just obviously not being shown. Do you think they want it spoiled?
If you know how to datamine the data, try and you will understand what I mean. You may say the content may not be final at the moment but the name of the cinematic files are obviously called outro. When they name it outro it would be the last cinematic. You know "outro" means closing, the end. Nothing comes after it. There's no such time in Blizzard's history that both CGI and regular cut scene from the same installment are called "outro". You know that I want it to be CGI too.
Here's every Diablo 3 cinematic. Look at the first and last ones. You can see they use the drawing in both the intro and ending. They're probably just saving the CG stuff for when you update to RoS on March 24th.

There have always been ending cinematics...there will be one for D3-RoS for sure!
Okay! I didn't say there won't be an ending cinematic. I'm just not sure whether it has CGI part in it. I'm just like you who expect a spectacular ending cinematic. Based on what I currently have, that's not promising.

Your point makes sense to me. As the game is not officially launched there's chance they will update the file. The reason I started worrying is after seeing the outro without CGI part and the TV spot which doesn't have any new scenes in it. That makes me wondering does Blizzard have another CGI cinematic to show in Reaper of Souls.
There was a blue saying There will be a CGI outro for Reaper of Souls, just search it on the official forums, some guy asked if there will be one and a blue answered a solid yeah!

There will be a CGI outro for Reaper of Souls, it's obvious. Like all previous Blizz games. No doubt in it.
My assumption has been correct. Reaper of Souls went live in the other regions. Several YouTube links have been posted. You don't have to watch it but it's really confirmed that Reaper of Souls DOESN'T have CGI outro (ending) cinematic. Expect sketching styled cutscenes all the way toward the end.

I think the person who answered that question was wrong or you didn't remember correctly. You can wait a little more to play and find out for yourself or you can watch the link that I give you now (spoilers). This is the final battle walkthrough from officially launched game and after we defeat the final boss no CGI part in the outro is shown except the sketching styled cutscene. After all, Reaper of Souls doesn't have any other CGI cinematic than the intro one.
That was the most dissappointing ending I have ever seen by Blizzard. That shit was soooo lame. NO CGI? Blizzard has an amazing Cine team, why the fuck did they forgo it, when even HoTS got one? And that game isn't story-centric! UGH that pisses me off kind of. Was really hoping for some badass shit in the ending, maybe a little nod to the next Expac like Sc2.

Now you know what I have been worrying the whole time! If they can do this for RoS, they can do the same thing for other expansions as well. Sketching styled cinematic is a cool addition to their story telling approach. However, they would abuse using it more and more as a replacement for the real CGI one. In Starcraft II, you see they use in-game cinematic. In-game cutscenes don't look as nice as CGI one and they use it a lot but at least they could manage to include proper ending CGI cinematic for both vanilla and the expansion. With the sketching styled cutscenes, it's not just that they don't look compelling compared to CGI or in-game cinematic, they also give players the feel that not too much work being invested on it.
They had to use sketched cutscenes because the ending centers around the player character, of which there are 12 variations... doing a full CGI version would have been expensive, time-consuming and bulky. It seems weird that unlike the last two D3's, the only looming threat being hinted at is the player character. It suggests to me that they're not just going to have some new bad guy popping out of Metzen's head, or they surely would have gone ahead with a full CGI ending that didn't feature the PC. After all, if they were just being cheapskates, why not just make a single sketched ending hinting at the new endboss?. Does that mean that the next expansion will have some kind of lightside/darkside thing going on? Do they dare put the RPG back into ARPG?

Featuring characters in CGI would be time consuming not just because the variations of heroes, genders but also what they wear. They're aware of it for sure. However, it's Blizzard's responsibilities to figure it out how to do it in the way that makes the outro memorable. By "memorable" I mean CGI. The outro is always meant to be epic because it ends the whole expansion. It doesn't matter what kind of challenges they have to face when putting the hero in the center they need to do the outro in CGI. They could use the approach like in the intro but in opposite direction: tell something interesting in CGI section around the event and then go back to the sketched scenes (with our heroes) to conclude the expansion. Anyway, it's their job to come up with the ideas. And since they couldn't manage to fulfill the expectations, disappointment is inevitable.
