I think it'd be pretty cool if we got to find out what happened to Malthael (Archangel of Wisdom) and why he disappeared. Since we already know that Leahs spirit is involved in the new expansion maybe Malthael will play a role in finding it? or maybe even protecting it!

Bashiok - Blizzard Representative - 08/01/2011 -"So how many skill combinations are there now? Well taking into account 6 active skills, all the rune combinations, and 3 passives we currently expect each class to have roughly 2,285,814,795,264 different build combinations."
"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
I think we all know that the "Prophet" will play an important role in the next expansion.
You mean Inarius? Most-likely
Are we talking about the Prophet that the enchantress was talking about? I thought it turned out to be Tyrael when talking to both of them in act 4?

we all know Activison had a big say on what D3 would be, aso they do with all blizz games since they bought in
mike on the other hand used to be hands on and had alot of input with his games
now hes a billionaire, hes taken a step back. maybe hes right, i dunno
Who the hell is Mike?
Also: "Activison had a big say on what D3 would be", a lot of people like saying this. I would really like to see proof of this. Did Activision tell Blizzard to make SC2 a copy of the first game with better graphics? Did Activision tell Blizzard to keep WoW going in a non-innovative direction while losing sight of what once made it compelling to play? Did Activision tell Blizzard to take D3 into a new direction, dropping point spending and bringing in an attempt at an end game?
I really doubt that. I think all Blizzard's doings, their failures and successes are all on their soldiers. I just think its convenient for most to have a scapegoat to blame as a puppet master. I'm pretty sure Activision would also have been blamed for North's departure if they were present at the time, now wouldn't that have been convenient.
I have two level 60's and have yet to find a set item..
I have one level 60 and have yet to find a legendary item..
I have one level 60, found 6 Legendaries, including 1 Set item.

Who's to say he doesn't still have a voice in the game developments. It's been said that they do consider all in company input that they receive during development, from the seemingly lowest employees to the guys at the top.
#1 Yes, we all know and there are blue posts proving this...the drops rates for sets & legendaries are built around the auction house. So what about having sets being much more common. I'm level 60 and still have not found one set item. Sets in the expansion will be just like McDonald's Monopoly game, the last item in the set is VERY RARE, and maybe 2 items in the set are very uncommon. That way, there can be sets that everyone can find and enjoy without using the AH, but if you want a complete set, then you'll have to save your gold.
Show me this post please, because if anything, the drop rates of sets and legendaries dictate their prices on the auction house and not the other way around
They had to "consider" the accessibility of items from the auction house when coming up with drop rates. They couldn't make legendaries drop like uniques in D2 because it would cause them to become too prevalent
im not been negative, im just saying i have no idea what they could do to add on,and what i mean by that is
1, everything will stay the same, built around the RMAH
2, they will screw around with things we like AGAIN
3, jay wilson will be involved
i hope they dont as it will not be good.
but u never know
My take on this view will refer to the backwards view of politics that the people of the United States have on their failing education systems, "Our schools are failing so our tax dollars are better spent elsewhere." No, that makes no sense. We should be spending more money on education so they don't fail.
An expansion for this game presents the best opportunity to fix everything wrong. I also enjoy this franchise and I want more.
Don't try to make a political slur about U.S. education and try to tie it back into an argument that it has nothing to do with. Troll
Oh I'm sorry that went over your head. I am simply saying that if you want to fix something, it's counter-productive to give up.
An expansion for any game provides new content, but more than anything, it improves and fixes problems. That's all I'm saying.
Nothing went over my head kid. They are working on things. Have you not noticed the hot fixes and patches? That stuff takes time. It doesn't mIracle itself in overnight. People are working hard to suppress your nerd rage. What I was saying, and this is a borrowed term, you sir are a non contributing sponge cunt of society and why compare a game to a political issue?
I think we all know that the "Prophet" will play an important role in the next expansion.
You mean Inarius? Most-likely
AFAIK Inarius and Lilith are trapped in the void, would be kind of lame to bring them back AGAIN(would be the second time Lilith escapes)
And I don't think the Prophet is Inarius, since its been thousands(?) of years since he got banished.
Inarius is actually in hell being tortured by mephisto's people.
The veiled prophet (Inarius) is most likely the same prophet that trained the enchantress.
This game is NOT AH dependent. That is a fallacy. That is a steaming pile of bullshit.
Please interpret Bashiok's own words. PS, this is his clarification statement which previously specifically said that the AH was taken into account when determining drops.
Bashiok: What I said, and what is true, is that with far more players and an increased proliferation of item trade, we have to factor in how many items are being found by players and how quickly a player can gear up by 'sourcing' items from others through trade and the convenience of the gold auction house.
It has nothing to do with the auction house per se, but the general ease at which players have access to more items than they would without it and us needing to keep that in mind while balancing drops. It would be rather poorly thought out if we balanced drops completely ignoring all of the ways players can gear up, and trading is certainly one of them.
Obviously everyone wants the best gear possible as quickly as possible, and us attempting to mediate that through design that takes all factors into account is not always going to be a popular notion.
PS, I don't think this is a bad thing, except in relationship to SET pieces, which I feel should be more common.
edit: I reread your statement and you're right, the game is absolutely NOT AH dependent. Taking the AH into consideration of drop rates vs. making the AH dependent are two totally different things.
Seriously, GTFO and go troll another game's forum, afaik this is Diablofans.com, not DiabloHATERS.com. Point out 5 other games this year that give same value for money.
Now that is not fair, D3 is the only game in which you will earn money instead of losing money.
OnT:
*New class/es
*A few more levels (5-10)
*Atleast one more act

Except that Bashiok is wrong, Wyatt Cheng is right. You should read the blog instead of some CMs faulty posts.
The drop rates are tuned for players that doesn't use the AH.
The blue post you linked was posted by Bashiok on 5/29 while Wyatt Cheng said that the drop rates are tuned for players that doesn't use AH on 6/15.
Who is correct?
The CM who doesn't know shit about D3 and who have said that he rather play WoW?
Or the Senior Technical Game Designer who is one of the people that decides how the game is supposed to be?

Yep. I'll just have to default to my own anecdotal experience. Which is this; I have geared myself well by farming my own gear and fully avoiding the RMAH. The GAH is simply an entity which creates a far more convenient manner of trading than what we dealt with in D2. Of course I have taken advantage of the GAH.....but no more so than I would have if I had found good trade-able items and did the exchange person to person via D2's created trade game format.
It's the same exact parameters....just a different vehicle. As well, I have been very successful in fully gearing my monk the old fashioned way, so I have to scoff at allegations that it is impossible to gear without spending real money.
I have two level 60's and have yet to find a set item..
Same here. It is stupid.
I have 3 lvl 60s, with a combined playtime of around 300 hours (it's not that much but meh can't play 24/7) and I have yet to see a set item, I haven't even seen a lvl 60 legendary.
It's all RNG, my brother got like 10 legendaries on his 270 hours playtime DH, atleast 5 of them was at lvl 60.

Yep. Blizzard has been heading down this path long before Activision entered the mix.
Everyone said that StarCraft 2 would be ruined by Activision's influence as soon as Blizzard announced that the campaign was broken into three parts. Allegedly it was a money-grubbing move, same with the paid name changes, and same with the map cash shop. Now, two years later, the first expansion is just about to enter beta testing, paid name changes aren't implemented yet, and the map cash shop isn't either. So much for money-grubbing Activision having an influence.
I'd go with BoE items that are account bound after equipping on one of your characters. but only for whatever the highest ilvl is at the time. Of course that still doesn't solve the gold inflation issue of not enough "DECENT" gold sinks in the game.
Definitely new class or classes and i could care less about the story. Yeah yeah yeah all you lore freaks want a great story to play through. Unfortunately you'll play through the story in what? 4-10 hours max? then play it again and again for another 500hours? Yes complain about story all you want but when it comes down to it. The story isn't why you keep replaying the game, if it was most of you would have stopped after beating normal.
anyway i'd like to see an overhaul to the itemization...bottlenecking people into certain builds and stats just plain sucks...
