Whatever you wanted Diablo 3 to be, it's subjective. You are not the arbiter of taste. You're just one guy on the internet with an opinion. They didn't make the game wrong. They made a game the way they thought it should be made. We're not shortsighted fools for having different taste than you.
Get over it.

I grew up gaming without internet forums. The entire phenomenon of being upset with a game developer makes no sense to me. No sense. I cannot imagine spending my time and energy being upset about something I choose to do for recreation.

or how bout you muster up the ability to read something of that "magnitude" instead.. and then understand that this comment you made is completely moot

The "magnitude" of your ego is comedic.
I read your post. You just don't have very solid points & I didn't want to copy the whole thing and make everyone scroll through it to get to my response.
There are plenty of places in D3 that feel claustrophic or macabre. You just chose to ignore them.
Did you miss Leoric Beheading his wife? The prison cells? Did you skip all the journals? Have you gone down those creepy u shaped halls in the cathedral?
You don't like modern video game wayfinding. subjective.
The audio doesn't suit your tatses. subjective.
In short, you can feel however you want to abut the game. Just stop pretending your opinion is the right opinion.

to put it simply im not....
like my original post implied... there are people are for whatever reason, that they cant seem to place there finger on exactly why, are displeased withe some of facets of the game... i was simply attempting to point out some reasons as to why diablo 3 is missing that feeling.
At no point did i bash the games soundtrack and at no point did i say the game was in any way bad.... its quite good actually. The FACT remains that there are things absent from the game that cause it to be less like its predecessors, i personally those particular things more important than others do...
And if you can honestly sit there and tell me with a straight face that you feel diablo possess the same degree of macabre as diablo 1 and 2 then i dont understand why you feel the need to argue, as you are likely on an entirely different wavelength.
Again i was not forcing my opinion on anyone.. i was expressing why the OP might have thought that way...
I guess I misread your tone. You're totally entitled to your opinion. It just seemed like your point was that "Blizzard missed the mark", instead of "I would have preferred x over y".

The game is obviously better than the descendants... in terms of pure gameplay, skills etc. But what worries me, it's not gamebreaking at any level, and as you might say it's ok because it's the Diablo style, i will tell you that gaming industry has evolved a lot, and despite this fact, they have spent like 8 years probably on making this game, that has really poor storyline and acting.
I love the game, but i have expected something more after so many years. Just think about it, do you honestly think that current state of Diablo 3 couldn't be made in 4 years max? I'm not hater, but as op says, it is exactly overhyped at some level.
Lower the game gamma slightly. Lower your monitor brightness and color. Play without a follower. Turn off the scrolling combat text. Don't use the zoom. Get further than the cathedral you'll find pitch black dungeon. And stop comparing Diablo to World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft is a Diablo mmo game set in the Warcraft universe. I agree with you some of the musical score is generic, but that is does not represent the whole of it. This is a game, the GAMEplay is primordial, and on that Diablo 3 is ten times better than 2, hundred fold better than 1.
It's a different game, made by a different team. You can't possibly expect to be anything like D2.
That said, the game does has some issues, mostly story related (weak dialogues, cheesy story, lame ingame cutscenes, and etc, etc) but, Diablo is not about story, it's about loot and duels and bragging.
The gameplay is vastly improved (even if blizzard implemented holy trinity on the mechanics), the skill system is solid, and it's challenging. I literally smiled when our party got wiped and monsters camped the stairs, classic Diablo.
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.

Now if you're talking about the experience of being able to even PLAY the game. Well D2 rapes D3 thanks to the DRM.
It's about 1000x better.
