So I couldn't really find topic about this, yet this is very annoying for me. In diablo 2, you could make the full map transparent while u were going to explore the unexplored parts and it helped alot.
Now it's like...I have to open-close-open-close the map if I don't want to stop going forward...and there is no option to make it click-throughable or whatever.
No this is intended... and there have been topics on this ... so i don't think you did a search ... you probably just manually looked at the first page of forum threads?
It won't be "fixed" as it's by design. The developers want players to look at the beautiful environment that they've spent so much time doing instead of the borders of the map.
You are very much correct in your statement that this was a deliberate design choice, Caelestis. We did not want to have the Diablo II scenario where people just stared at a dot on a map to guide themselves through an area. We made the map full screen, completely opaque and prevented commands from being sent while it is open to stop this from occurring. We also like the concept that your character has to take a few moments and stop so that they can get their bearings
Not really a fan of this when I hit a dead end and have to walk all the way back with no action (because everything on the way back is dead). I saw the atmosphere all the way there but your art team will rage if I didn't want to see it all over again on the way back? Ok.
Sorry I am kinda new on this site, and I always had an error when I tried to search for "map" since it's less than 4 characters so couldn't really figure out how could I find topics about this.
But ty for ur very useful comments I appreciate it very much!
Though I don't think they avoid the "being a dot on the map" problem, since as I said, I can just hold down left click to move and open-close-open-close the map and it will be always the same as in diablo 2 but in an annoying way. Well whatever, they didn't need to ask me when they made this decision!

Let me be the first to commend your attitude regarding a design element you don't like lol. If everyone could take things this well then the community would be a hell of a lot nicer in general.
I'm late to the party I guess...
But yeah... This is BS. "We also like the concept that your character has to take a few moments and stop so that they can get their bearings".

I hope this will be fixed when it's released!
