I hope there aren't different CE's for each class, I mean how is it a Collector's Edition if you have to buy 5 of the same game to get it? (one for each class). It will be like Starcraft II and World of Warcraft, meaning Behind the Scenes DVD, DVD with Diablo III (ofc), Manual, Artbook, Soundtrack, "special CE item" and ofcourse ingame items for Blizzard games.
A CD with access to install the version of Diablo3 that was dropped in 2005. It will probably be unfinished, lots of balancing issues etc etc etc but I would so plunk down $150 for that as a collectors edition bonus than another dust collecting statue.
I thought about creating this thread the past week or so. Since it's already been done, I'd add my ideas to what has already been posted. Now, we need to think about this from the point of view of Blizzard. They most likely want to include something that will make people WANT to buy the collectors edition, however that something can't cost much money.
I like the idea of the soundtrack. Putting music onto a CD is fairly easy.
The idea that I really like (and I think I came up with it myself) is a permanent scroll of companion. A little snake/spider that follows me around permanenty and picks up gold, unless I decide to turn it off, is something that's easy to code, and would make me want to purchase the collector's edition. The end benefit of the extra gold is worth the initial expense to me.

True, but at a whopping 120 bucks(40 bucks more then any other CEs other gaming companies release, which mind you most of them have a art book, and Soundtrack CD as well), it needs to be a hell of a lot more then a Sound track CD, the making of DvD, a Art book, and a meh Key chain/mouse pad to get people to want to spit out that kind of money.
high quality numbered statues would be a good way to go or somethining along those lines.
An in-game item that you will always use would be nice, so it's easy to tell who's an unclean scrub and who's a CE owning stud muffin.
Like a banner? Non-combat item that everyone will see. Fair and makes everyone jealous.
Well, it's not really an item, but you get the idea.
..or a permanent scroll of companion following you around. You get to keep moving quickly through monsters while the bug picks up the gold. Srsly my idea is bestest.

PS: I heard that we would get a D3 Mouse Pad in CE...somewhere, idk where....maybe a lie, QQ!
A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!

Made me chuckle.
But srsly... no game-changing items, even if just a constant scroll of companion. Do not want, and don't think Blizzard would do this.
