So with all the datamined info from the beta, I'm kinda scared to open topics and read and maybe post on them because I'm afraid of people forgetting about spoilers in all the excitement. And, if I was a bit less skilled in the application of logic, I would have been spoiled a few times already. Anyone know how this website will handle spoilers? Will they crack down or now that the info's out are they just going to be like "you'd've found out eventually"
you'd've is a real word where i'm from. don't hate 'cause I'm proficient at using contractions.
Delete this website from your memory bro, the spoilers are everywhere. People are being lazy and still putting the spoiler name in whatever new forum they create, then they think if they put END BOSS FIGHT OMG (spoiler) then its ok. Just don't visit this site until you've played the game, because apparently nobody wants to delete or stop all the spoiler topics. Can't believe how this is being handled.
They pretty much took the stance of 'Well we won't post any FURTHER spoilers (there has got to be like... 3 left) so instead of telling people to only post in one area about spoilers, we are going to let everyone make whatever they want.
Just by browsing titles, or the very first post in a forum, I now know what the secret level is (at least 99%), what the end game boss fight is, what the acts are, who are the act bosses, and more. It's really lame, I just signed up to this website to check out D3 news like what, 2 1/2 weeks ago, and so far it's been great. But now spoilers are everywhere, and I'm not seein the least bit of moderation. From now on I'm going to just the reg diablo 3 community site.
I'd gone to class when the forums were blowin up over this, and when i got back, people were posting things like "end boss fight (SPOILER)" except they named the boss.... It kind of defeats the purpose of putting spoiler up.
Yea, I've been on the site daily, and listening to several podcasts each week. Even trying not to get story spoilers, a few key words were placed in my eyeballs today. 'Bout to go dry until game time...
For those who don't know (I've seen posts asking this), to use the spoiler tag, all you have to do is type [ spoiler ] (without the spaces, like [sp0iler]) before the text and [ /spoiler ] after it.

I was online when the Diablo thread appeared. The reason I didn't bring it down is because it was already known information, not like knowing whether or not he was the last boss was just found out.
The "spoiler" part of that thread is actually inside, with some of the mechanics that will be in the Diablo battle.
Moderating the forums from 1-PM (when I logged in - my time zone) to 4:30-PM was one of the hardest things I've had to as a mod so far.
There you go again! just naming the last boss fight! just because it was datamined by some chinese and brought here doesn't mean everyone's read it! for instance Zero... THE OP! you just told him the last boss fight man, cmon! This is what I'm talkin about, not trying to be a dick, but ya know, a little discretion.

I shouldn't have to explain it again, but I'll do so anyways.
Knowing who is the last boss fight isn't new information. It was known before.
It wasn't "datamined by some chinese" from the leaks. It was openly stated by a Blizzard developer before (Rob Pardo G4TV interview - http://www.diablofans.com/topic/26554-it-ends-with-diablo/), and therefore it wasn't a "F&F beta spoiler", which is why the thread wasn't closed/hidden or renamed. If you didn't know that before, it's a spoiler for you, but the fact that it was an open information, easily accessible even from the news page prevents me from "hiding" it.
Following your line of thought, the whole revamped skill system is a major spoiler; the follower system too, and the Rune system as well.
I have to agree. There are some things that could be okay, such as skills and specs to try and figure out a build beforehand, but more important things, such as story/lore and bosses and such are things that I want to avoid. It would ruin my eventual play through if I knew what was going to happen and who was going to pop out and why.

You, good sir, are my possible hero.
The issue with spoilers has been discussed already. We can't force our members who want a discussion about spoilers/game mechanics/leaks/etc. Better phrased... we don't want to force them. There's quite a few people who don't want spoilers, sure, but even more want to learn everything they can get their hands on and talk about it. Which is pretty much why forums exist

I usually try reading the beginning of sentences to check if it's blatant flaming or trolling, kind of worked so far.

If you see a "fishy" thread title, don't open it.
