I mean, when I think of intense gameplay, I don't think of using 3 buttons at a time I know in Diablo 2 my Meteorb (old meteorb) used like 10 spells
I mean honestly, I think for Wizard the lack of the spells will ruin the gameplay of wizard
I think of wizards or casters, I think of plenty of spells to use, variety
also you didn't HAVE to get all the auras, only for the synnergies...
I agree that wizard needs active skills... but i honestly HATE the concept of the barbarian having too many actives. Barbarians are supposed to be fucking melee.... not a wizard with different cinematics, and physical damage....
Warning: I didn't read this thread, I am simply posting my opinion.
I think it's a good move by blizzard, in Diablo 2, we had alot of spells. However, I still only stuck to 2-3 skills anyways despite this fact. I'm glad they are going with less actives and more passives, it will make it so much easier to balance the game if they do this.
And not only that, you can customize the 2-3 spells you would use(if they had more actives or not) in more ways then simply having more actives.

because cleave should be a passive.... Bash and WW are good, all these stomps and shockwaves and crap make me think they are building the barbarian to be another wizard type char. I mean ffs... have you watched the videos... all they do is skill spam just like the wizard....

Thats the way D2 was too, and hell no they didnt just skill spam.Watch the video again man, the first fight he used three skills occasionally. Hed leap attack into a pit of creatures then slash some down and shockwave them to stun then smack them down with his attack. Thats called strategy my friend not skill spamming. And as i recall in D2 you used WW most of the time or double swing depending on your preference. and by the way they use those videos to show off skills they're supposed to use skills as much as possible ...

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
As soon as someone posts a guide that this skill is the best and any other skill sucks than a lot of people will stay away from the other skills.
I want to see skills that are limited and can be used all the time. I am more for using different skills to advance. If you can beat the game with ease with only a couple of skills.

I never said i liked how d2 had the barbarian work.... in general i think all hack and slash games need a character that actually USES the melee attack. I don't care if you toss out a stomp to stun and then pound on them using melee... but melee needs to have a use!!!
There are only so many melee type of attacks possible without turning them more into spells. If the monster density is higher than D2 then a single target melee attack will be at a disadvantage.
The melee skills are going to work nicely. I do not want just a character that uses one skill to kill all the time. I want to use some strategies on the kill. I made most my barbs a single target killer but used his warcries to great effect to survive in Hell.

i think this is a good move on blizzards part, because i would rather have 5 abilities with a bunch of passive skills than 1 ability with 4 useless synergy moves
You'll always keep that. People will find the best skill + rune and it'll be used by 80% of the player base.
You can decide to be part of the other 20% (mainly people that don;t know it but heck) it's about your fun. However if your fun is PvP then you don't have a choice.
There are many ways to fix that problem. In D2 all necromancer build used a good amount of spells (since you have to a wide range of curses, and necros that stick with 1~2 curses are noobs, no exception) and some sorcs builds tends to use a high amount of skills to due the different propotion of damage/speed that each spell have (you can't kill everything with meteor, but it's certainly the best option to kill ranged foes).
Well if D3 works the way you said the game is pretty much lost for me. Since there official statemnets that every build will use around 6 skills, i pretty secure this will not happen.
I think Blizzard is planning on most characters relying on a sturdy 8 skills to spam. There are the 1-5 hot keys. Plus you have left and right click with tab to swap out the right. That's seven skills at your immediate disposal. We don't know yet if they plan on implementing other key binding though. But 8 seems good to me. The rest can all be passives to bump my 8.

Don't forget you'll have more then 10 active skills to choose from, so it's not like all barbarians are going to choose the same 7-8 skills, there will be variations of builds depending on what actives they choose to use, then there will be even more variations depending on what Skill Runes modifiers they choose. They are going for roughly 35 skills more or less per class, last I heard so most of those will be active skills.
I don't think blizzard ever said they were going to "replace" active skills with passives. They just said they wanted to loose synergies as was in D2. They actually have not said very much about skills since they announced that they would be removing the traditional skill trees from the game.

Why the hell use Cleave, Bash, WW are not melee ?

 You got it !!
It works without consuming energy/fury/mana/wheterver.
It doens't mean the character should be spaming it all the time... A character that use a to small number fo actions = fail.
All characters should take 6~10 active skills, imo.
