Having read a few people saying that Diablo III is a single player game first and foremost, with a multiplayer component (which, to me, is debatable), I'm interested in how everyone plans to start the game when they get their hands on an actual copy and why.
Are you going to gather your loyal launch day friends and create a game on Battle.net, partying up for the fun ahead? Or are you going to start off alone offline and explore the classes & their abilities?
My brother's best friend owns a net cafe. All the guys there are WoW freaks. However, they are all going to switch to D3 once it's out, so I'm gonna tag along. We will be playing together, most likely, and maybe even form our own guild or something. So for me, it will probably be online.
i understand the part about playing d3 alone the first time just to absorb as much of the story as possible - this is a great idea. However, i will probably start playing online first anyway b/c my girlfriend and I are going to play together! WOOT!
i agree with this one guy that he posted a comment on a D3 video that he is probably going to be playing alone because it looks kind of confusing with all the spells and effects going everywhere lol...but i will play on battle.net and my cousins and uncle we are all getting it when it comes out but we will all play alone for a while or me and my cousin or me and my uncle and we will all form a guild or what they will call it :P...i hope they bring guild forming into it!!!!
I'll be playing online solo for the most part, when my RL friend from Chicago isn't online(I'm from TN, so it's really the only time we get to game together).

im gonna go multiplayer 1st. iwanna enjoy everything NEW with a group of people. i think i would be more exciting that way. then ill do singleplayer with alot of time.
ya i would kinda play single player for a while on multiplayer BN but when i need bosses and i cant solo ill get groups :P...and i might BASH some monsters with my cousins/uncle lol that would be the shizz
Battle.net- I don't see any reason not to. If I want to play by myself the first time through, if I play on Battle.net I can still use that same character to play later once I've run through the whole game. I can't really stand playing by myself, though, so in any case, I need the interaction.
First time I ever played D2 was in LAN.. and after that single player only because my internet was so expensive for playing games. After some months I got faster and better deal so I started playing in battle.net.
that actually hard to answer. all depends for me. if u get to use the same characters for single and b.net then i guess i would just get to know the whole controll thing on single then play d3 to expeirance tha magic wit friends ya digg?
I'm going through the game on single player first. I want to go at my own pace, in my cold, dark room, with a mini-fridge packed full of Coca-Cola and a well packed bong.
I'll come out of my room when the ritual is complete.

i was thinking definitely multiplayer until i read this...
i am going to do both single player and multiplayer simultaneously... i'll start with different classes, and i'll go on single player whenever i'm bored of multiplayer, and i'll focus more on the 'setting'
add me if you want to^^

The only time I played singleplayer Diablo 2 was when the internet was disconnected/down. I don't see the point. If you want to play by yourself, you can just make a 1 player battle.net game. You just get annoyed when you find something awesome in single player but it doesn't matter because you can't show it off to anyone.
