just to add there is no such thing as "freedom of speech" even IRL.
having 'freedom of speech" means that you can say whatever you like and there is no consequence
can you do that IRL of course not, you say something untrue and you can be sued for slander, you say something inappropriate and you can be sued for a multitude of things (depending on what you say) from sexist-based or racially-based lawsuits etc.
Oh how true you are my friend how true you are

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
I made a thread like this and it got deleted within an hour, why?
I did a quick search of all the threads you have ever created and this is the only one that shows up as deleted: Why do diablo 3 graphics bother people? It would appear it was deleted for being another thread on a heavily-duplicated topic during the time period it was posted in. (If moderation ever seems unclear to you, please do not hesitate to contact myself or another moderation-or-higher authority in the staffing body privately and we'll look in to it.)
What happened to freedom of speech? I made fairly good points, if you don't like what were saying don't read it. I'm still mad because i didn't even receive a notice as to why it was deleted, it just vanished.
If you have an issue with moderation, please contact (a) staff member(s) privately via PM, Email, or IM. This is a violation of rule 3B.
Basically, though it is a free service, when you sign up, you agree to abide by the statutes set by the EULA:
Quote from EULA »
By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
The owners of DiabloFans.com reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.
Very nicely, we as a staffing body set rules. These rules act as expectations of members and, from a member standpoint, expectation of the staffing body of how things will be enforced, what will be enforced, and how it will be enforced. Though we technically have the right to close anything and do anything we want (since you agreed to the EULA) (anything that isn't illegal), we limit ourselves to make for a more productive and professional atmosphere.
What this means for you is that there may be times when you do not agree with moderation, but you must realize that we must 1) obey our own created statutes and 2) maintain order. Number two sometimes supersedes number one, and since we still technically have the right to do so, sometimes professionalism is overlooked in favor of the effects of the moderation. Whether that is right or not ethically is often argued for days at a time by the entire staff (moderation and administration) body.
In other words, we take things like that very seriously and invest a lot of time in to them.
Anyway, that is not for discussion. Please PM myself or another moderator or administrator if you have any questions.
Everyone else, although your replies were insightful, please try to get back to the topic, and also please avoid trolling and flaming- I have deleted numerous posts for those violations and if the behavior continues the thread will be locked.
Honestly I've seen people talk about WoW-D3 similarities alot and I still don't see them. I haven't played WoW but D3 looks like a bit better graphics more awesome D2.
Is there anything in specific that has similarities to WoW?

I'll be damned if I have to climb another tree. From now on the Squirrels and Birds can come to me.
im sorry but ive played WoW for maybe 3 years now, and i see hardly no similarities in gameplay or style of game, you just cant compare the game if you do compare the games you are not a true D3 fan. i was at blizzcon and managed too play D3 for the 15 mins i had and it felt in no way shape of form like WoW and i also hated when i was there people where still complaining about the art style!!! i just wanted too falconpunch there face, and if anyone likes too get cocky on this forum why be here its simple where here too discuss not too criticize
Well, unfortunately it appears that many users posting in this thread decided not to heed my warning. The thread will now be closed for an extreme number of violations of the following rules:
Quote from Revised Rules - July 19, 2009 »
1A - Flaming
'Flaming' refers to any deliberate attempt to insult or demean other users, staff, people, or groups of people (on or off the boards). This includes racial, sexual, and religious slurs as well as derogatory statements regarding people of lesser fortune / ability. Flame can be contained in posts, user titles, thread titles, names, avatars, signatures, private messages, and the reputation system (among others). Outside the forum is your business. Anything on the forums is our business, and we will deal with it accordingly.
Max Punishment: Permanent Ban (Dependent On Severity)
1B - Trolling
'Trolling' refers to any deliberate attempt at provoking argument or flame. It may, at times, also pertain to an easily-misconstrued statement that, based on previous experience, is likely to lead to argument or flame. This decision will be made on staff discretion. Deliberately posting controversial viewpoints with the intent of inciting conflict is a serious offense and will be treated as such.
Max Punishment: Permanent Ban (Dependent On Severity)
1C - Arguing
'Arguing' is not Debate. The two are different, and it is important to understand the difference between them. Debate is the free discussion of numerous differing opinions employing the use of logic, evidence, and civil disagreement. Arguing is a conflict between numerous differing opinions wrought with illogical and/or irrelevant exchange, a lack of proper evidence, and innapropriate or impolite animosity. The difference is usually very clear but, in a case that proves hard to distinguish, a decision will be made at staff discretion.
Max Punishment: Permanent Ban (Dependent On Severity)
1D - Spam
'Spam' refers to any posts in a thread (or any thread) that is or contains unsolicited or irrelevant material including, but not limited to; advertisements, links un-related to the thread topic, youtube videos (not directly related to Diablo or another topic at-hand), internet memes, random gibberish, double posts, and single-word / single-image posts. Please do not respond to spam posts. If you wish to help cut down on forum spam, report the post instead and let the staff take care of it appropriately.
Max Punishment: Permanent Ban (Dependent On Infraction)
1E - Off Topic
The term 'Off Topic' is used to refer to posts with very little to no relevancy to the thread's original subject or question. If you feel the need to discuss a new topic, create a new thread (or, alternatively, search to see if you can locate and existing thread on the same subject).
Max Punishment: Infraction, Deletion of Post (Dependent On Number of Infractions)
3B - Etiquette
The Administrators and Moderators of this site are here to maintain peace and order. As the enforcers of the rules that protect and guide the users of the forums, they expect a reasonable amount of respect and cooperation on your part. It should be expected that staff decisions will be accepted and followed. Should there be a conflict involving one or more of the staff, please bring it up with other and/or more senior staff members. Please do this politely and privately. Posting complaints about the staff or their decisions in the main forum body is not permitted, to ensure the dignity and fairness to all parties involved. This said, we can't be everywhere all the time, so we appreciate any help you can give us. If you see someone breaking a rule, use the Report Post button to let us know about it.
