I don't know if this has already been discussed, but I searched for it and found nothing on the first page.
So, anyways, I thought about it and didn't satisfy myself with my own creativity, so I decided to ask everyone for their expectations of the new and advanced Diablo 3 skill tree!
Even if there were sneak peaks on the skill tree's already, it doesn't mean they will use that when the game is released, right? If so, tell me what were your expectations?
Edit: The skills inside or the skill tree's looks.
I expect the skill tree to be very simple and basic, just like the one in Diablo 2. I heard many people didn't like the one recently shown to us because it looked to much like World of Warcraft's, but i think this is just right. I don't see what's the problem, Diablo 2 had skills with arrows pointing to the next skill, World of Warcraft has it and i guess Diablo 3 will have it aswell.
But i do hope they put cool images behind the skill tree. The tree in Diablo 2 was a little bit boring.
Damn people got to stop hating on wow...Its an A+ game, if you say otherwise then you have never played it or did not play it long enough to get into it.Anywayz, Skill tree, I like te D2 skill tree but found that putting a potential of 20 skill points into one skill is too much. Maybe lower it down to say maybe 10?
Well, the thing with people and WoW comparing to Diablo 3, in my opinion, is that they don't want a replica of a game. They want a game with enough creativity to support it's own and not give off a feeling that you are playing another game. The skills for the barbarian didn't change to much, eh? All I have to say is that I'm happy they kept whirlwind.

LOL and if ure so in love with WOW its because u didnt try nothing else because WOW is a baby MMO and its sucks.try FFXI or AION and u will never say that again.
Diablo 3 and Blizzard are related. Blizzard and WoW are related. It's relevant to talk about WoW in this forum, even if it's called "diablofans." I don't see the point of raging on amongst someone's opinion. I doubt that everyone in the world will think that AION and FFXI is better than WoW, and also vice versa.
And (pshh) I keep watching the Teaser over and over. I can't wait for Diablo 3 to finally come out! It will be awesome no matter what, cartoony-looking or dark and gloomy.

Doesn't mean anything... If they decide to put less points per skill, you will also have less total points to spend logically.
But I think it's nice to have a lot more passive skills. What I REALLY hope for is the possibility of lots of different (working) builds. I love trying tons of different original builds.
What I think is more important would be that skills are still useful even if they are not maxed.
Let's take diablo 2 for exemple, there are a few skills that are one point wonders or others where you could invest just a few points (often passives), but when it comes to active skills or damaging attacks, they were almost useless until you maxed them with all their synergies.
Some people might hate me for that but I will make a quick comparison with WoW. In WoW, you could use an attack that did far less damage than your main attacks just to get the maximum dps possible. In diablo 2, it just felt pointless. Let's say I have a summoner and that I have just enough points left to get like 15 points in poison nova without synergies. Spamming it while my skeletons kill things just didn't make a big enough difference to be worth it...
The point is, if skills are still usefull with just a few points invested in them, it would make a lot more different viable builds.
Yeah, I do see your point. Such as how the gameplay trailer was made? He used plenty of skills, each being as useful as the other. But, the monsters were weak... When it was the Witch Doctor's turn to show off, his locust swarm did little damage compared to his regular attack. I don't really know how the skills will turn out with usefulness.
Yes, I agree. I didn't understand why people still wanted the old skill tree when the new skill tree fit the very detailed environment. Personally, I don't think the plain looks of the old skill tree would work with the new Diablo. I won't complain about the icons because I don't remember much of how WoW looked.
People who are not open to ideas, from ANY game are just ignorant.
I don't play Wow, but I am open to ANY idea that fits the game and works well. I like the skill tree design we see right now. It is possible to make it better, but saying its from WOW, and shouldn't be used is just childish, and idiotic.
Even if you hate every aspect of a game, but one mechanic works well, or it works well in a different game, then there isn't any argument.
Also, games take plenty of ideas from each other, and that is how games slowly evolve. They take a few ideas from one game, improve them, then another developer takes that improved idea, and improves THAT ONE.
IF IT WORKS, KEEP IT. IF IT'S BETTER, REPLACE IT. Use your heads..

FFXI was pure shit.
I keep watching the trailer a lot too, I'm really excited about this game. It's been so long since Blizzard did anything with Diablo.
Some people must understand that some don`t wanna wow feature not because they hate wow, but because they play it and want to see new stuff.
A good exemple is if one of the next classes are a Ranger/Hunter with a bow, a trap/support and a pet tree i will be REALLY pissed off, because i had passed like a year playing hunter in wow and 2 years playing ranger in GW, and i`m tired to see the SAME concept of bow user in every freaking game.
Also, some Diablo fans dislike WoW because of its poor animations, colorfull graphics, raids or any other reason... It`s natural to freak out when the sequel that you are waiting for 5+ years are changing in a direction that you don`t like. Then, as a fan, you have the right to express your opnion just like any other fan.
Really, ignorant is a to strong word for someoone that are only expressing a opnion.

Yes, but just because you have a list of bad things about the game, if the team takes 1 good thing from the game, adds it, and makes it their own. It won't change anything...
I agree, you don't want to see the same thing over and over, but, then again, it is a different game, and will, and could be used differently..

I think what people are confused about is that they don't want a game replica (I love the word replica, so if I overuse it it's because of that reason), but they don't seem to understand that 1 thing added from another one to make this one greater won't make a difference with the game play and be the same as the other (huge run on sentence). I always see a comment somewhere, "if they use this-and-that from WoW, I won't play it," and I never seem to get why.

I was thinking the skills would be maxed out to quickly and then, instead of your ultimate skill being maxed out at 99, it would be maxed out at 50.
