At 12:00-12:50, Jay Wilson talks about how killing Diablo and his brothers was pretty much the "tip of the iceberg" and that "everything has gone the way Hell has planned". He also says that the people who think they know how things work, and think they defeated Diablo once and for all, are wrong.
*RRAAAWWWWRRRR*" "You have Godzillla in your pocket?" lol...that's great

I know a lot of people think that Blizzard's new Next-gen MMO is a new franchise, but I watched a video interview of Mike Morhaime talking about before they make an MMO, they want to make sure there is a strong connection with the players and the world that MMO is covering.
And what is the Diablo III team focusing on? Attempting to have the players submersed into a deeper world of Sanctuary than ever before. Sounds MMO-ish to me...
Wow, when Jay Wilson brought up the "uber" bosses and how the Skeleton King really is just a mini-boss blew my mind. The guy next to Jay, Ray, said that these bosses will be more special in that even the environment would be involved.
I can just imagine one of the boss fights--the boss reaches a certain health or level and he gets angry and just smashes the floor and your whole party and the boss fall into some underground dungeon and start a basically new fight with the boss who has changed into something more monstrous, with a new different environment.
Or maybe the monster starts making a room crumble, and the exits get blocked off. Or perhaps they try to push you into pools of lava or maybe lava starts pouring in from underground. Who knows?
The Diablo III team is filled with brilliant ideas.

Acid you know I was thinking about that earlier today, before WoW was announced they really fleshed out the warcraft universe by taking us to Kalimdor, Northrend, and Outland in WC3 and TFT. And that is exactly what they said in a previous interview about Diablo 3. The only thing leading me away from that is that the diablo series is already it's own type of RPG, and it seems like they wouldn't want to change the RPG experience of diablo into a totally different RPG experience which would be an MMO, when they could take another realm that hasn't had previous rpg elements, starcraft, and really bring that into some type of MMO, which would be huge.

I'd imagine *if* this becomes an MMO eventually, that it would be a hybrid of the fast-paced Diablo action and the immersion and functionality of an MMO.
im tempted to not watch it because it might anger me even more... however i suppose there is always a chance it could cheer me up... oo the choices... 'sigh'
What does gold sinks mean? I was meaning to ask that...
Ways in which you can spend your gold...
I'm happy that one of the questions i put forward on the site got asked in almost the same way i phrased it (about the boss experiences vs WoW's phased bosses, etc).
I'm uber excited to hear that the one-dimensional fights are out and that you'll be forced to do different things and also react to the environment
Also, I really liked the analogy to WCIII singleplayer making you do different things via quests and what not- the build and destroy RTS playstyle is totally torn apart and developed into far more interesting playstyles...
Example:
1. Stratholme burning- where arthas has to save villagers.
2. Maiev escaping a collapsing temple.
3. Arthas's journey to the Ice Crown through Azjol Nerub - the missions where you encounter the Forgotton Ones.
4. The Hellfire Citadel encounter with Magtheridon missions.
Alot of great ways to expand the gameplay and I'm relieved to hear that they're using them as reference points for D3 Development. Lets hope D3 can step out of the boring old RPG shoes and give us something awesome to roll with
EDIT: For all those nutcases that said God of War was an irrelevant or pointless comparison or reference for Diablo...you can kindly fuck off after watching this vid
Sounds a bit like how the emperor (evil) planned the conversion of rebublic to imperium in Star Wars "Everything has gone like I have forseen" or something.

If you're like me, Julian's 'I guess there are some people who just don't like colour,' will have you facepalming, but the rest of it is actually quite encouraging to me.

Not to be beating a dead horse, beating a live one is much more fun, but, ermm anyways, i just don't get how one would call the original gothic dark gloomy and mature setting of the first Diablo, and in a lesser extend the second Diablo "emo", and this, without any dispute (wether you like it or not) more cartoony, WoW, WC3 inspired rendition not emo.
To me, the cartoony "fun" horror kind you see in WoW (or FF, as another reference) can't possibly be more emo, not that i have anything against emo.
And there we go again.....
Dude I know your trigger happy when it comes to flaming Blizz on choices they made that you disliked, but this issue first off is the dead horse he is talking about so don't get into it. Second, the issue was merely used as a reference to make another point which you either didn't get or chose to avoid.
He simply stated that the graphics shouldn't impact the gameplay quality and the fun factor. That's it.
So Please, I respectfully ask that you pass No more criticism on the art direction of D3, burried subject.
If you don't agree to his statement that fun shouldn't be related to graphics, then go ahead, you guys start a construsctive debate on it.

Exactly... That artwork of Skovos probably isn't even from the Diablo III team, but the Next-Gen MMO team...
Leoric is just a mini boss? I guess I expected that. Sounds like actual bosses are going to be challenging.
