How do you compare 2moons to D3 because It uses the skill system that a billion games have used before them because it's simple and makes sense. Blizzard didn't steal it from 2moons, Blizzard and 2moons stole from which ever game was the first to implement that system.
As far as the targeting system goes I don't think I'd mind that, and I'd like to see more huge monsters that are spread out to make melee classes more useful, and have some debuffs that are for single target only just mix up the skills. The rule of Diablo 2 was that if you didn't have good AoE skills, you sucked as a class.
i dont think they were trying to copy 2moons, as most of you recall in diablo 2 the right click and left click on the mouse were your only way(s) to attack. i think they wanted to make it so you could use more than 2 skills at once when playing. (but i didnt like how you could assign something too your right and left click, i hope they keep that xD)
As long as my fingers can learn their place of order easily and the game play is fun I don't think it matters if it is similar to another game. They definitely needed to change it up D2.
lol i like the auto targeting cuz a flaw i thought was in d2 was targeting smaller than midget sized enemies xD
id tend to just run by every area with smaller enemies or just kill their shaman or their leader or whatever and then run, unless i was a summoner then i just sat there until everything died =3
the control scheme seems more like from hellgate london lol just hellgate london had 1-0 instead of 1-6 lol
but as long as they let you change the hotkeys to whatever you want i dont really care what they do with it
either way controls werent a huge problem with diablo really. i also would like if they made auras kinda like warcries are just without a timer. that way you can just cast it and dont have to worry about it again
and since you can assign multiple auras to a hotkey bar and instantly change them to whatever you want
switching them would be easy lol
and thats only if auras are still gonna be in d3 lol
I'm pretty sure that a game that has had so much time and money invested in it won't be the same as a free rpg. If it is then Blizzard will have disapointed me on more then one level ot Two Moons is an amazing game.
There is no shock here, Blizzard Irvine rips off tons of other peoples ideas. Look around you'll see what I mean. Warhammer, Everquest, some others that I can't remember right now but i'm sure most of you can think of.
This argument gets under my skin. Blizzard originated from Games Workshop, so really their ideas are atleast in part owned by Blizzard; obviously not legally but I assume we are talking ethics. Also, it is well known that Blizzard puts "hidden" acknowledgements to Warhammer so there is nothing hostile going on here. There is a saying that goes, "Those who can't do, teach." And in this case it was Everquest who taught Blizzard how to be, atleast right now, 11x more successful than Everquest ever was. Now obviously that is in big part due to technology but I'm sure that not even Blizzard would deny that they took some ideas from Everquest and made them much, much better. This is what we rationalists call evolution.
It's the thread that never ends... It goes on and on my friends...
Anywho, the freedom to cast spells or use skills without having to first use a hot key to assign the ability to a mouse button and then click the mouse button to actually use the skill or spell, should definitely allow for a wider range of skills to be used in a more rapid succession.
Blizzard has stated that you will be using more than just two skills at any given time in DIablo3, so allowing an easier and more intuitive way of using the abilities efficiently is definitely a welcome change. I imagine there might be situations in Diablo3 where using 3,4,5 different skills in a quick succession will be more than warranted.
I for one welcome our new spell casting action bar overlords!
