So if you look back through the years at the hstory of fantasy based rpgs you can tell diablo 1 started it all with the dark graphs killer gameplay and numerous skills....Then in 2000 we got the biggest sequel and just a year later it expansion so now that a good 7-8 years has past since the diablo 2 lod times why have bad Fantasy based rpgs much like diablo with either worse graphs or worse gameplay surfaced amongst us all... These rpgs should be formed around the core concepts of the diablo series and i just made this thread to compare d1 and d2 and d3 to other rpgs who try to be like diablo in one way or another..... Maplestory runescape GW...etc (PLEASE DON't Flame)

im saying the fantasy based structure of how you go and kill monsters with magic should be much better in those games they lack core parts like GOOD Gameplay although GW isnt half-bad sorry for the confusion

Haha~ I played Maplestory( had a level 79 Ice/Lighting Wizard ) and wasted over 150$ on it. Now I totally, and I mean, totally regret ever doing that. I could've bought a nice jacket....oh well. But yea, Maplestory is soo different from Diablo. The only thing similar I can find is that the main character classes and maybe the skill tree.
Those games have nothing to do with Diablo, and whether or not they are good is subjective, and Diablo's gameplay is pretty limited... Nor does it needs to be transferred over to other games.

Well, if you're just going to take out all of what makes a game different from each game, then I could just step out on a limb and say Diablo should have followed the example set by Baldur's Gate.
ughhh i knew this was going to happen look gammes dont have to be exactly the same im saying take some key elements of diablos gameplay because it is or should be a role model for all MMORPG's

That's all fine and well but... what do these games have to do with D3?... at all?

Hey~ Lemme just tell you something that'll make your life on this forum easier. There's always gonna be someone who disagrees or agrees ( like duh! haha). So by saying that all games should include some elements of Diablo in it, you automatically judge that Diablo is indeed the perfect or has the perfect factors that should be standard for games. As I said before, people have different opinions, and I doubt they would have some extremely negative things to say about previous Diablo games( otherwise, why would they be on this forum eh?), but you get my point. Right? RIGHT!??!? Haha...
I played maplestory 132 Night Lord biggest waist of time AND money. I'd rather spend 100$ on WoW instead of that or i could of bought diablo at the time.
Ok, that wasn't fair at all man. I played GW, I played GW:F, I played GW:NF, I played GW:EotN and I'm certainly gonna play GW2. The only reason I'm here instead of playing EotN right now is because I think diablo 3 will beat all of them combined but Diablo 1 AND 2 did not hold a dim candle to any of the gws (except prophecies, but it's still a very dim candle) IMO. And I know maplestory and runescape were $#!7, but none of them tried to be diablo. Maplestory was proud not to be diablo, advertising it's cute monsters as a selling point. Runescape opted for the actual rpg focus, where diablo did okay but diablo 2 failed miserably, and Guild Wars implemented concepts wholly new to the rpg experience where time spent was thrown out in favor of tact. And that's a good thing, because if there were more people that thought all rpgs should be diablo we'd be missing some damn good games. I know everyone here has at least one great thing to say about the games they couldn't say about diablo, if they knew the games at all.
in the roleplaying aspect diablo 2 failed miserably.
edit: a little added info including maybe 50% of my reasoning:
the game forces you through one specific story with virtually no alternative. Your only actual choice in that aspect is your class changing some of what npcs say to you.

Oh and Maplestory, Runescape, and Guild Wars have nothing in common with Diablo.
