You, as a costumer, choose to buy a product or not. That's how it works.
If Diablo was from EA, you wouldn't even say choose thing because you knew it would be pointless.
Blizzard will ask for players' opinions in due time, they do in every single game.
ok, let me replace the "costumer" for "fan"
and still, dont you think its not an inteligent move to take teh fans opinion into consideration since this could translate into money
of course it must be a good portion of the fans to make it reasonable
I was just wondering if anyone else thought that the Heros seem to appear unecessarily bright. I don't mean that the character models are too vivid and colorfull... but rather it looks like there is always a spotlight shining right above them. It makes them "pop" out of the environment slightly, giving the impression that they don't exactly belong there.
I think it would be nice if shadows moved accross their bodies as they pass by various light sources. They would flicker under torchlight and become shrouded in near-complete darkness in rooms without any light. Perhaps this is a no-brainer and Blizzard has planned to do this all along but for some reason could not demonstrate it during the grand unveiling. I would like to think so. It would be a shame if all the characters were lit up as if they were in direct sunlight all the time...
Since the game has moved to 3D, you might think it was only natural to expect the visibility of the character models to be influenced by lights in the game environment. Can anyone think of any reasons why a fully lit character would be necessary choice?
(on a side note... i appreciate all the hard work the artists have put into the game already.. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this brightness issue as well and if there were any reasons why Blizzard might keep it that way?)
OH MY GOD THAT IS SO MUCH BETTER THANK YOU THANK YOU WOW IT LOOKS LIKE EVERYTHING I'VE WANTED
Guys, please stop bitching about the graphics. The fucking Alpha testing hasnt even begun so much is going to change. Wait till the beta atleast to start complaining.
Yeah, if this idiot had an original thought in his brain, he'd realize that the art team actually has to create the rest of the content for the game, like loot, new environments, and bosses.
It'd be kinda great to let them have some feedback before that massive undertaking goes on, right?
Not the redheadedness, it's the fact that he is much more defined, I can actually see his muscles and frame now...the lines on his body look more like LINES, in the previous shot, like etchings, rather than physical muscles that were a part of him

Hey, cool. Someone who actually got it.
The rest of you can go fuck yourselves for finding everything else to complain about rather than the real and simple point of the whole post... (as if I was actually suggesting the Barbarian needed to have red hair...)

You made him tan and red headed and added... liver spots? or something. Besides that it's exactly the same. It looks more "defined" because it's darker colors outlining his muscles.
A new screenshot of the Barb clearly shows he now has a darker skin tone (a tan!) added scratches and blood marks and deeper colors/contrast with his clothing.

Might you not have noticed the difference in lighting? One is outdoors while the other is in a dungeon. And the blood splatters already existed in the gameplay trailer.
There should be an official "Flame Argument: Art Direction" thread that won't be touched by mods whatsoever. If this were made then all the flame would go to one thread leaving more forum space for POSITIVE comments/ideas
your a tard yes he is. he is suppost to like continue the story line thats why he looks older? if he wasn't the same barb why would they make him look old?

Which, by the way, makes the way he dresses all the more inappropriate.
actually he is supposed to be the exact same barbarian from D2...

Stupid f****** flamer.
That's because that's all it is.
Maybe they should add in tanning beds and hair dye parlors to make people happy.

And that's all that matters.
I don't disagree it should look more defined. Do I want my character to be red headed and tanned though? Hell no.

God that's nice to see.
I smell a troll, or wait, maybe just a young man.
Over confidence is the rot.
Yeah... then has the nerve to come back NOW and just assume they changed things based on his idea or an idea similar to his.
The blood was always there, he looks less pale probably because of the outside lighting rather than indoor lighting.
