i dont really know. it would depend if my friends and family also had the game when i did. then id play battle.net. but if niether of them have the game yet. then ill probably just play single.
Multiplayer- you can have all the joy of a storyline if you have good friends to go with you, plus the addition of socialism.
And the last option isn't fair, I played with a lot of my real life friends for years on East until I had to switch to West for....well... annoying guild reasons.
i'd play with my friends but since we graduated from HS we barely have time to play together cuz of our jobs. we had a good set up between us. one or two of us picks up the items then find out who needs what. one guy was in charge of town portals. we fault side by side with no one getting to far ahead. if someone needed to go back to town we all went. (aka: real Co-Op)
Maybe if i can find some ppl on battlenet that actually play together as a group instead of going off in different directions then maybe i'll play multi

My life is like a dragon, first praised, then hated, now lost.
This thread said nothing about Co-Op, it's about Multiplayer. But yes, that is fun. Only did that back in the day, though, when I couldn't do things myself.
I will start with both. I will play on b.net and single player. The single player will allow me to get to know the game and eventually I will get a mod/trainer for single player to learn things about the game faster after I have experienced the story. On b.net I will get to know the community and begin to aquire friends as the game expands. It is always fun to be part of those people that are the veterens of the game. For example, on WoW my character is one of the few that is part of the old Honor System, thus he has a rank above his head. No matter how good you are at PvP you will never display a rank if your character was created after the honor system changed.
If you were not part of that initial phase of the game, then you would have missed out on a small tidbit like that.

Well, I'm intent on getting a friend or two from the forums (hopefully a whole group) to actually experience the storyline online first time around. Then I'll settle in to figuring out econimics, finding items to stay alive on the net, and exploring new Battle.net 2.0 features.
Definitely single player first. Its impossible to fully appreciate the story of a game with other people. I really need to be able to work at my own pace.
Ah, I can't wait. I love starting new characters in a new world.
I'll cut myself off from these forums too until I finish playing through the storyline. I don't want spoilers and reading about others play it just makes me jealous lol.
Multiplayer of course, you can enjoy the storyline and experience just as well imo.
Also, if the new cap stays at 4 players per game, it'll be much less chaotic tool.
i'd rather have a combination. Single-Player first, to check which class i prefer and learn a few things about it, then battle.net because its always more fun with more people around.
I will be doing all 3, i like playing single player, but my hubby will want to lan with me and some friends, and once i complete the story I will be playing on battlenet.
