Hey all, this seems like a cool place. Honestly, this is a bit odd. On the official Diablo 3 Battle.net forums I made a post that said "Thank you, Jay Wilson" and I made a very detailed post describing why I love the game and I was thanking him and everything, very sincere. I said nothing negative or bad at all.
Welp, apparently that was classified as trolling and I was perma banned. I said nothing bad to anyone that replied either.
So what I'm wondering, is that are they just that sensitive there that you can't even talk about certain developers because people in the past lashed out at them badly? Or is it bot handled where if enough people report you for trolling because they dislike your opinion that you just get banned regardless. Honestly I'm not that bothered about it, just thought it was odd albeit a bit funny too, lol.
can we see the transcript , i would love to read that
Honestly, I would post it up but they deleted the thread :(. I honestly should've copied and pasted it in notepad just encase a situation like that occurred, but I honestly was genuine and didn't say anything negative unless you count "blizzard south did a much better job with the diablo franchise than Blizzard North even though North created the franchise" lol.
I'm almost never on those forums, but I think you're correct in if it gets too many reports there's an auto action. Definitely open a ticket and try to talk to a rep about it.
Most likely you had compiled a litany of infraction points over time, and you just pointed-out.
That being said, I actually read your thread earlier this week. I read and read, waiting for the overt sarcasm, but there was none. It seemed like a genuine praising of Mr Wilson. There was nothing I read in your OP which could've triggered a perma-ban.
That being said, I have no idea what you said in response to others after the OP. I would sincerely hope they didn't infract you for your OP. If they did, it's a bit of an overreaction. To the best of my knowledge, there is no "auto-ban" due to the number of reports a post/thread receives. If that was the case, most people would get banned eventually.
Bear in mind, and I hate to be "that guy".... but Bnet forums seem to be typically moderated by a gaggle of disconnected interns who arbitrarily pipe out canned responses to appeals that contain all the emotion and personal touch of a disconnected tin can robot. i.e. They don't even take the time to actually read an appeal nor type out their own words. They effectively click an automated response such as "We are sorry, but we cannot reinstate your posting ability at this time" and then provide you with a link to their code of conduct etc etc.
It's a vitriolic forum, and you should consider yourself lucky to be rid of that place.
Please feel free to jump in and join us here in Diablo 3 discussions. Regretfully, I'll have to close this thread because it's not Diablo 3 related, nor will it foster any sort of constructive discussion. Good luck, and we hope you stick around.

Anyway, love this place. Peace guys and gals.
I honestly dont know why someone would praise Jay Wilson's work on Diablo 3. Masqueira saved this game pretty hard from the vanila fail...
Heh .. I got a week ban for harassing you.
For the future install Lazarus addon in your browser.

no one ever gets perma ban the first time. you must of been trolling for awhile and they had enough.
