The patch looks big, maybe it's not the end yet. I wonder if they want to announce the X-pack outside blizzcon, especially considering, how much they've crammed into the opening ceremony this year.
I've been trying pretty hardcore to stay positive. But there's no denying, this panel was just a huge let down to me.
New area's and a zone. Always welcome.
Set dungeon's could be fun, but I really dislike being forced to play with sets that are just garbage sets and I sure as hell don't want to be playing the classes I dislike. Sure, a positive addition, but for me personally, I won't be getting much out of this.
New cube recipe can suck it, guess they want more people to start botting for those Rift Keys...
At least we're getting fixes to damage numbers & the buff bar.
But what really pissed me of, their solution stash space? "You'll have an still insufficient amount of stash space in like 2 years".
And them dodging question's about lag and tileset/density is just really crappy.
Edit: I still love this game, I'll have lots of fun with every new season. Though, most likely not getting any new sets for 2.4 is just a big letdown really. The rework's we saw seemed like mostly garbage sets.
i am about to head off to bed. scrolled through my facebook timeline.
warcraft movie - trailer!
legion - preorder!
hearthstone - new adventure!
heroes of the storm - cho'gall and arenas!
starcraft 2 - haven't liked it somehow, but something about lotv and nova for sure!
...
..
.
diablo 3 - *cricket*
nope, not even the social media team gives a rat's ass about that "panel". no new post even after the small announcement of the 2.4 ptr. this game has been given up. and i hate myself for writing something in a few threads, but i have to went that anger somehow. grrr!!
Let me summarize for you in terms of just how hard it is to achieve the things they presented programmatically:
New bounties - easily scriptable content with little to no effort since they already have a bounty system in place since RoS launch.
Rebirth to seasonal - completely useless feature, thought also quite easily achievable programmatically, all they have to do is store your current statistics and items in their database and just add them with the ones you get after season.
Buff bar UI - Already implemented in TurboHUD, so to begin with it is just a ripoff, I am not even sure if it is a good rip off. TurboHUD works like weak aura's in wow, probably allowing for customization depending on your needs. By the way, did anyone catch how the guy kept talking about "precious 8 buff bar slots"? I guess it was just too hard to solve that problem.
More space - that is basically just increasing the size of the array... LOL
Empowered Greater Rifts - must have been hard to add that tick box....
Is this power cubed? - Already implemented in TurboHUD, I would argue which implementation is better, the one blizzard is doing requires you to actually mouseover the item, in TurboHUD you can just see it in your inventory.
Death's Breaths Visibility - Already implemented in TurboHUD also with a yellow circle.
Damage numbers - must have been if it took 2 years to be able to concatenate numbers.
All in all, the entire panel was talking about the things that they are ripping off from TurboHUD that should have been implemented in the main game already anyway. Did anyone notice that they didn't even get chairs for this panel !??? One guy in the panel didn't even speak before questions. It seems that Diablo 3 is left with some washed up developers that probably fulfill a role of errand boys around Blizzard offices getting coffee to the other teams from the games that actually matter to Blizzard.
So in your mind, if a feature is easy to implement it's useless? That's some seriously bizarre logic you have there.
Ripping off TurboHUD? So them implementing a feature that's similar to, well tons of games, not just some TOS breaking overlay is Blizzard being bad?
I'll admit that prior to the panel I was not happy with how things looked to be going. But after the panel I feel like the Diablo team is not only listening to the community they are honestly trying to improve the game, add more content and solve problems and all without any further charge to the players.
Personally I'm really stoked for 2.4.

I think I see this from a different perspective of indirect feedback. So many people are using TurboHUD that they looked at some of the features and implemented what they could in this patch. It would be cool if they continue that trend over the next couple of patches so they can improve the experience of the game without people having that grey area associated with tools like that.
Though it's not really innovative, I really applaud them for taking the high ground in incorporating those features instead of banning people who use the tools.
Rebirth to Seasonal : Almost useless, can be eventually useful for casual players who wants to try season, that's all.
New Stash : I'm not really in need of this, I will just stack more useless items, but it's still cool to see this finally issued, and the implementation as a reward of season journey is not that bad I guess.
Buff Bar : Just a joke, poor implementation.
Empowered Greater Rifts : We will use use it at least a bit for sure, but it's not a great idea, I'm actually sitting at 230b gold in S4 and my Hoarder Gem is lvl 0, I never used it. And developers said that players with too much gold are farming vaults and using a lot the hoarder gem... They know their game at competitive level for sure...
I guess the reworked sets will be cool to test, maybe some new impressive builds in next patch. But anyway, we didnt heard a single word about the two major issues of the game right now :
Paragon ? All competitive players will be around paragon 2000 by the end of the season, and most dedicated players will be 3000+. So even between competitive players, the gap is becoming bigger and bigger. Just make a more exponential XP curve which begins at Paragon 1000 and recalculate the level of everyone on this new XP curve, it should be really simple to implement and it will reduce this insane and absurd gap. Alongside a new XP curve, one paragon point could only give you 1 or 2 primary stat instead of 5 which becomes totally absurd at paragon 2000+.
Lags ? The lags just prevent us from playing the game. We cant play the builds we want to, we cant test some new interesting stuff, just because of the lags. The developers didnt noticed that there is not even one single Wiz or Helltooth WD in high GR even if they seems good in solo ? Its just retarded that we have to play around the lag to develop the meta. And even with a "not-too-laggy meta" we have to play carefully to avoid lags as much as possible and playing when there is as less people as possible on the servers... Seems to be the biggest issue of the game to me.
Story of the day it, D3 is getting cool stuff, but the fans are never happy... u got every thing u asked for! EVERY THING, yet here we are listening to the crying again of unhappy babys, I give up with u people.
I don't really understand why there is so much legitimate content (new areas) being added, without any way to charge for anything. Is this stuff that was cut from an XP2 that they are just repurposing? Hopefully that's because they decided it didn't fit XP2 story, and not because XP2 was axed...

sorry, but i don't think you can be serious. everything we asked for? what? can't you see that the dev team is absolutely not getting any funds?
my girlfriend came home this morning. i showed her the legion cinematic, i showed her the warcraft trailer. and we both played wow and we play d3. i summarized everything those new and old franchises got and i had nothing to report on diablo. then came the bits from the ONE HOUR talk and i quickly realized in my report that i was talking about QoL improvements there. something i tell when the big news of new features in other games are told and i then talk about the small stuff.
except that the small stuff is the big new "feature" in diablo. you get some small improvements, you still know there won't be coming any funds to this game from the fans for another year and you know that there is a skeleton crew at work to provide a basic level of effort to do something for this game. you can't call a season content. a season is done after two weeks of heavy playing, after that it is justing praying to rngesus to min-max your gear.
diablo is in a very sad state now.
oh, wrote it somewhere before but here i go again:
social media updates for all the games, except diablo 3.
and even the f'ing launcher has:
wow: pre-purchase legion / cinematic trailer!
sc2: lotv trailer / nova covert ops!
hearthstone: championship / league of explorers!
hots: championship / new heroes!
overwatch: pre-sales buttons, but there is nothing else on this page since not released i think.
diablo: patch 2.3.0 available / season 4 live / (oh, and visit our smaller-than-a-restroom-booth on blizzcon)
they even shaft that game in the launcher and don't even spill something about 2.4, 2.4 ptr or anything that was said last night.
in. their own. launcher. you cannot tell me that you agree with blizzards handling of diablo. you simply cannot tell me that. nobody can say to me, that blizzard is still interested in diablo and the players.
the negativity stems from the missing communication between devs and players and also the out-of-touch feeling you get when you hear them talk or implement changes.
why do they do such a lame way to add stash space? why do 50 legendaries matter? with six classes and cross-class legendaries you have not very much left to add anything else than another mandatory item admidst all those other mandatory items. what do they do about botting? why do they implement things in other regions which we'd also like and not throwing us atleast a bone? why do i see hundreds of threads in the official forums since the opening ceremony and not one blue poster says anything to all those disappointed players? why does blizzard think that 2.4 is enough for another 1.5 years and that we gladly suck it up because it means just a hint of content?
why do you defend their practices with this franchise? when i play diablo, i really invest in it time-wise. i had a lot of fun with RoS and the systems it brought. but now that novelty has worn off and we get back to rift/grift/erift with another power creep. and please take your AD out of spec and gear or else you lag your way to hell.
Diablo 3 is not dead, have you seen all the new content there adding in a this next patch? Also they probably have an Xpac in the works there just gonna wait til next year because they already have three titels coming out this year adding a fourth would leave nothing big for next year.
This year:
Overwatch comes out in spring
WoW Legion probably May
SC2 Legacy of the Void Nov,10 *three days from today*
Next year:
Diablo 3 Xpac March or May 2017 *trailer at gamescom*
Maybe a small Overwatch Xpac *that addes 4 or 5 more heroes, and a couple skins*

Ok so let me get this right, you already payed for D3 and u have gotten a number of "FREE" updates. yet ur unhappy because you want "MORE" "FREE" updates....... You see how you sound right now?
This is what I read " WAHHHH I WANT MORE FREE STUFF WAHHH" If you want better updates then tell them ur willing to pay real money for it. Grow up and learn that money does not grow on a tree little boy.
Do i have to be honest? So many delusional people here. If you don't like the game anymore, stop playing it.
If you play a game based on the amount of other people playing, the issue is on you and not on the game.
Yes, this year's Blizzcon has been a letdown, since it's clear that the game is still thriving and needs more space, aswell the dev team is super dedicated on it. Hell, they've taken the adventure mode/rift system from d3 and put it into WoW to save the game. If the game sucked bad, i don't think they would have done a move of this kind.
However, the more i think about it, the more i think it's been good like this.
This year/next year Blizzard releases WoW new xpack, Overwatch, LotV and Heartstone new adventure is next week. Putting out also D3 new xpack would have just a bloating effect where everything is on the same plate and you take just a little of everything and not enjoying the various things.
I'm kinda happy D3 had so small space this year - IF this is for a lot more space next year. With everything already started, only king of the Blizzcon will be D3.
an expansion is paid content. communication from the devs to the playerbase is mandatory for selling future expansions and having a multiplayer game with actual gamers. having patches shows care above the taken money and is in no way expected, blizzard always does it though.
i am unhappy because of no communication, no connection of the devs to their game and their players, heck we even have a real CM team when i look at the forums. by the way: while the RMAH generated profit, there somehow was more buzz around. and i think you should age a few years before you can call someone boy.
We already had almost no incentive to grind on one character alone, the act of creating and developing a character that you get attached to is completely gone now, everyone will play all classes with all sets due to set dungeons, i understand that alot of ppl like that playstyle and i'm all in for more options, but there is literally 0 incentives to have a main character...
You know there's a release schedule right they don't want to release all the there games at once and have two year gap of no income thats why they spread these things out.
blizz told the 2 employees and 3 hamsters still in the diablo office to stop all work so that people would go back to playing wow
legion sounds very promising...
d3.... meh... there are simply too many items that dont get used.... almost everyone uses the same ones with small variations.. and those variations are all the same anyways....
they should work on making sets less op in order to add skill/gear diversity
