So, Italy will win tomorrow, and so will Paraguay and Denmark.
Quit being a hater. USA deserves to be the elimination round. We're in, and the refs nearly fucked us over again. After all that crap, we made it in. Sucks for you American haters, but we are once again waving a middle finger at the world that we can be good at a sport if we really want to.
I'm not a hater, but that was a shitty goal. They deserve to go through, yes, but that doesn't make it a good goal. They can certainly get through to the quarter finals, and they have an OK chance at clearing the quarters (OK at best, and I don't even think they can clear it, but let's be optimistic here) and that's where the journey definitely ends.

We fucking killed Spain in the Confederations Cup and nearly beat Brazil. This isn't some shitty team that's wearing a USA jersey. Algeria is really solid defensively, who stopped the high powered England offensive team (granted, they're playing like shit). They made great saves that neither Brazil nor Portugal could have made. Yet USA created many situation but the nature of soccer is that you sometimes miss due to complete crazy plays. They proved that they deserve to be in the quarters. And they could seriously beat a team like Spain, Argentina, or Portugal.

Na...it's just only you waving your middle finger at who you think are American haters.
lol@everybody for just ignoring the thread after the US win. I honestly think the american team deserved to top that group more than England, but people here were like- oh no, there's some clueless prick here with his US-owns-the-world bullshit that going to be so happy. What a shame.
Fact is they deserve that win. They showed guts like against Slovenia. Completely dominated by England(yep they had like 3 attacks during the whole match) but they can definitely put down a 'lesser' team which many of the 'big' teams seem to be really struggling against. The real test will come when they face another 'big' team. If they show the same fighting spirit, I'll definitely support them.
I already commented about the USA owns the world stuff. I already admitted that that was out of line and inappropriate. Now stop bashing on me and focus on facts. USA won and I'm sick of everyone thinking that it was luck (I am not talking about people on this forum necessarily, but the majority of Russians here in Portland and some faggots on the internet). USA was almost cheated out of a win TWICE! I agree that USA's tie with England was a complete luck after that goal that should not have gone in. However, I am a big America supporter in all the sports and I observed all the teams in the World Cup and I have to say that USA has a chance.
Brazil's performance has been less than dominating and Portugal (not counting North Korea) has been somewhat of a disappointment. They have to show something spectacular against Brazil to impress me.

Your last post on the matter was you getting completely hysterical. Or is there some hidden post somewhere I missed?
Whatever.
Anyway ya Brazil's performance is not all that great. And England sucks too- I wouldn't want such a poor team winning the cup. That little bit of time-wasting crap they did against Slovenia in the last minutes pissed me off.
Only Argentina has caught my attention. But will they last? They usually tend to excel in the group stage and that's it.
France team is getting completely destroyed back home- journalists, supporters, politicians and ex-footballers.
Listened to Zidane on the matter. Just wanted to slap the guy really. After his so famous headbutt I don't know why the fuck he thinks he is in a position to advise anybody after the players clashed with their coach(Domenec).
Domenec was shit ever since he took on the France team and he's fucking stubborn too. They should have kicked him out long time ago. The players are blameless as far I am concerned. The coach was that much fucking terrible for not being able to hold the team together and letting his ego rule the pitch.
French players are not more arrogant than any other professional footballers.
The coach fucked up. That's it.

This isn't the Confederations Cup. Nearly never cooks your dinner. Algeria aren't strong defensively. They're a young, inexperienced team. If you think that they can penetrate a defensive line like Spain's, Argentina's, or Italy's, then you're on something. England are complete and utter shit, so I don't get why you used them as an example. USA were playing pure defense against them, with 9 players defending, and 1 at around the midfield area to do SOMETHING IF a counterattack formed. Nothing happened. They had like, 3 or 4 sprints down the field which did nothing. That's against a terrible team like England, and you're telling me they're capable of defeating Argentina? Boy you crazeh. They deserve to qualify, but hey won't make it far.
World cup 2010 is getting interesting.
Last of their group...lol! Guess they can keep the French company now.
Champions and runners-up of last world cup...finishing last of their group. A lot happens in 4 years it would seem.

How is that a surprise? I'm a huge fan of Italy, but I completely saw this coming. They're still relying on 100 year old players like Cannavaro, Pirlo, Buffon, and such, instead of putting in all the young players, conditioning them and giving them the needed experience. Did you see how nervous Marchetti was? Did you see all the shitty passing? Pirlo goes in, and completely changes the pace of the game. Montolivo has the potential to become the new Totti. It's far fetched, but the guy has fucking killer shots, their match with New Zealand is a great testament to that. If they don't pull themselves together by the next Euro, I'm seriously gonna be pissed off.
I'm with Meph regarding how far USA goes. USA probably beats Ghana, with all due the respect to Ghanians. After which it'll meet most likely Uruguay. This is probably where it ends (I don't see USA winning that game).
Nor do I.
Objectively speaking, Uruguay is the best team, ever.
I would say an Inzaghi-type of player would do them really good. With a bit more pace though.
Surprisingly enough, it looked more like a problem of nerves than anything else which is strange coming from Italy.
Mind you, Slovakia put up a great performance or maybe I am just overly biased towards the small teams really. Still 3 goals past an Italian defense is worth mentioning.
And ya having dinosaurs like Cannavaro couldn't have helped much.

italy are on the downfall for the next few years as they look for young talent, which is gonna be hard because serie A doesnt give a lot of chances to the youth system. Mario Balotelli has a chance to become something special if he moves to a smaller club and plays more, and reduces the size of his ego by 500%

Actually, I agree. I completely forgot about Holland. I honestly really like their inside the PK box game. They don't give up the ball in there and always get a shot off on goal. Holland or Argentina win it all.
I would say an Inzaghi-type of player would do them really good. With a bit more pace though.

Inzaghi? Uhh..no. All Inzaghi was good for was just nudging the ball in, and living on the off-side end of things, LOL. The likes of him, Klose, and Crouch are useless.
And that is why Inzhagi is perfect. I mean with Italy spending their time with their super defense, at least there's somebody on the other end whenever they feel like attacking which is a rare occurrence in itself.

What? They've had scorers that are worth 2000 Inzaghis. Toni, Totti, Del Piero, Baggio..he doesn't belong between such names, seriously.
Japan so demolished Denmark. At last, some nice free kicks in!
Edit- Oops just noticed your post Mephy! That guest fooled me..
Anyway, that's unfair dude. You are comparing the guy to legends(at least Baggio and Totti)!
So, Italy will win tomorrow, and so will Paraguay and Denmark.
