so here is my WD pvp build. i think it will be pretty OP in the arena. because with lvl 7 runes (runed dog skill and death trance passive) you will have 90% dmg reduction when below 50% health NOT counting your personal armor/defense rating. so basically if someone wants to kill you they have to do INSANE amounts of damage quickly without you killing them OR kill all 4 of your dogs first, and hope you cant resummon them yet. lol.
basically use grasp of the dead and spirit walk to kite, and your spirit walk will return 30% of your max health and you will always have haunt on your target which will return 45% of the damage as life. so with massive dmg reduc and constant returning life you can easily kite your enemies to death while always having a decent amount of health. spamming poison arrow (288% dmg) when you can while kiting.
What if it is a monk with enough spirit regen to chain several sided strike
Or a barb using frenzy with smite rune perma-stunning you?
Or god forbid, an identical WD? Whoever gets bored first looses
perma stunning wont be possible in diablo, its not possible in any game. so why would it be possible here? lol but ya i get your point. pvp is unbalanced at this point, QQ
70% reduction from runed zombie dog skill. and 20% from passive when your below 50% health. so below 50% you dmg reduc is insane. and then you recover life back from spirit walk and haunt so you never die.

The smite rune in frenzy gives a 25% 3 sec stun
Frenzy regens 4 fury/attack
With the passive that gives 1 regen/attack, thats 5 fury/attack
Using frenzy and wrath of the bezerker gives +100% attack spd. 5 fury/attack at (1.5x200%) becomes 15 fury/second
Runed wotb increases duration by 1 second per 10 fury generated.
This means permanent wotb as long as you are in combat, and why would you ever leave?(see below)
Smite (golden rune on frenzy) gives you approximately a 3 sec stun every 4 attacks. You attack 3 times a second
Therefore, nearly definite perma stun, unless there is something im missing
Edit: frenzy regens 1 less point of fury than calculated, but it still works

i didnt say its not possible. i said you cant perma stun in any game. why? because the game itself does not allow it. stuns will be severely nerfed in pvp and you can bet your life there will be a feature such as "unable to stun player targets again for 10 seconds" mechanic. THATS what i meant. if there was no such mechanic then everyoen would be a barb in pvp and whoever gets the first stun wins? rofl no. did you see anyone being stunned in the arena battle videos? NOPE. not at all, let alone perma-stunned

Well a few things wrong here. We have no idea how much change they are going to do to skills for PvP, they did say they would change them however so you might not get 90% or that much life leech. Also we have no idea if they will cap the damage reduction like they did in Diablo 2, 90% could be very useless if the cap is %50. Noone knows at this point what will work and what won't, we won't know till we get true PvP stats.

way to be a buzz kill on theoretical builds. everyone build on this entire forum is hypothetical since there still changing things and the game isn't out, thats why its hypothetical... >_> so hypothetically if it was the same id have 90% dmg reduction, but that does make sense to have a cap because 90% would be insane which is why i posted this in the first place. lol
I still don't understand where you're getting 90% damage reduction from. The runed zombie dog skill gives 40%, and you get 20% from the passive skill, which makes 60% total.
edit: Ahhh - does a level 7 rune give 70% damage reduction for zombie dog?

yes, before blizz changed the skill calc to lvl 4 runes it was 70% with a lvl 7 rune.

Knowing Blizzard, it will work multiplicatively instead of additively!
So instead of 90%, it will give you 86% damage reduction.
Pretty sure that's 76% damage reduction. If you have 70% reduction and you reduce that 30% dmg you take by 20%, that's 6% so 76% reduction. Or for pure math:
(% of damage you take w/ dog rune) x (% of damage you take with passive)
(70% reduction) x (20% reduction)
0.3 x 0.8 = 0.24
1 - 0.24 = 0.76 or 76%
Just want to point out that for haunt to give you life back you have to survive the 15s it takes to let the skill run its course and you cant recast the skill for a quicker healing effect but I could be wrong
Compare this to wow affliction warlock. You will be infinitely efficient, however unlike in wow you won't have dedicated healers to keep you alive, and you don't have fear spam to crowd control. the snare, even runed, has been nerfed to 58%, along with all the other digits (for life return) have also been nerfed.
Everything is subject to change, I guess the bumping of a 3 month old posts proves nothing other than just that. If you were getting 30 and 45% returns with a 75% snare or w/e and a longer spirit walk etc then yeah I can see how you would have made the argument at that time, but I think you will get the snot beaten out of you using this spec now unless you get help from teammates.

I looked at your build, and it does seem quite promising. I gotta agree with that if it discovered to be IMBA then you can expect a nerf. Regarding the barb perma stun remark, I think it might be safe to assume that there will be deminishing returns on effects. I plan to play my WD with far more control. I like your build though but I would only change two things. Those two things would be the passive skills Circle of Life and Fetish Sycophants. (I don't understand their purpose. Please explain it)
I would go with Jungle Fort and Zombie Handler.
Wow, lol i bet someone at blizzard has seen this post and thought who made that possibe ?
But yeah man props for finding that out. Would be crazy fun to try. However, there would surely be a viable way to beat it. Other than a 20 min fight. I dont know for sure but, if the WD is stunned, does he lose his bonus ? Probably wont but it would be worth testing.
